2018 In the books

I am sitting here on New Years Eve.  My favorite way to ring in the New Year.  At home.  I always hated the pressure to go out on New Year's Eve. I liked it when I was a waitress and we had to work New Years.  I guess if I had somewhere especially great to go other than thinking up somewhere it would have been different.

Anyway, I am thinking about this last year.  And thinking back to January and how things have changed or not changed.  Most things are good.  Some are sad.

I was successful at not getting shingles like my friend Lynne, because I did get the shingles shot....One out of a million isn't too bad of a record.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve our tradition is to go to Temple Square.  Mark was taking roll to see who was going or if we were going at all...We eat at in N Out after.  This was Mark's text to us...

He is so funny.  Are you N or Out?

This is all my family that went to Temple Square.  Abi, Nick, Jack and Me.   We missed Andrew and Brooke.  It was a beautiful night and not very cold.  There is no snow on the ground which was wierd because we usually have snow.

This is Abi.  It looks like Brooke because she is wearing Brooke's coat she usually wears.  I have the same coat on every year because I only wear it about 3 times a year.  And conveniently it still fits mostly.

My favorite nativity because it is a zoo nativity.  Look at those Zoo animals.  Thought about Brooke and her zoo school.  This is probably the nativity they would have at the zoo school...

Here we all are at In N Out. It wasn't as crowded as it has been.  LOVE those people.

Activities lately

School finally got out for the Christmas Holiday.  It can be so hard just to get to the end.  That day Nick left with Michelle and her family to go to Boise to watch BYU in the Potato Bowl.  It was cold but BYU won and they had a great time.  They are sporty.  McCall got it all together and invited Nick.

McCall was tending these kids that are from her work.  There are triplet one year olds.  Nick slept at Michelle's house so he could play with them.  He was taking two of them for a walk...

I cant remember who they played but they played at Boise State on the Smurf Turf.  It is super cool turf.

Brooke had her buddies come and visit her.  Hailey and Andrew.  They put up a tree for her and decorated while she was at school.

I love that people are taking care of my Brooke!

She also had another visitor the week before.  Her other friend, Ty or Thai as it comes up in voice text...They went to the backstage tour (something like that) of the Safari ride and swam with dolphins and seemed to eat the entire park.  Super fun.  Love that he is taking care of her too.

Here is Abi.  She sent these pics to me.  They are cute.  This is her friend Rowdy.  He is taking good care of her too.

He came this weekend to surprise her at my house.  He came over on Sat night while Abi was babysitting and chilled with Jack and Me.  I put him to work and had him wrapping presents.  It was a win for me.  It was good to get to know him.

Christmas odds and ends

This is my next Christmas Sweater.  Paula found this at Walmart.  The present is a drink holder!  NOW that is a useful sweater.  I hope they come in sizes for thicks.

Nick has been a good trooper and went Christmas shopping with me to Scheels and even had his pic taken so we could send it to Brooke to guess where we were.  We LOVE Scheels.

Got this at the Trader Joe's for our Christmas day activity.  Can't wait to see what we come up with.

Nick is now my bud at the gym.  We are really wearing out all the equipment with all our fitness efforts.

Nick went with me to see a Play at the community Theater.  The Gift of the Magi.  I liked it ok, but he didn't like it at all.  It was a bit long and slow in parts but hey worth it and I'm always interested in trying new activities.  I did have to promise him food after to get him to go.

We decided to not cancel Brooke's Planet Fitness membership but to transfer to Florida.  Here she is tearing it up on the stair climber in Gainesville.  Love me some planet.

Getting Ready For Christmas

Brooke is not going to be home for Christmas.  I had to get her Christmas pkgs ready early and get them in the mail.  I can't make decisions so it was hard to decide early what to send her.

This is her Christmas stocking I sent her.  I LOVE that it is a cat.  We hate cats.  I think I'm so funny.  This is the inside of the box I sent her.

This is the pic of her house. I sent her two of those boxes.  Wonder who sent her the others??

This is me getting it all together.  I'm not very creative so it was hard to make it look cute.
That Lovely brown wrap is my Aunt June's paper that I inherited when she died about 10 years ago.  It helps for my minimalism to use it up.

Love the abominable snowman.  Had to post a pic of him.  He reminds me of Jack. Jack hates the abominable snowman. He was super scared of him when he was little so we now love everything Abominable.

Here's a night light that I got for Jack last year.  I forgot all about it.  I got it out and I don't even think he knows why we have it.  It is hilarious.

Sing A Long 2018

My favorite activity at Christmas has to be the Sing a Long at the Delta Center.  Not called that anymore. We have been going for 10 years or more.  It is Free and super fun. ;lk

Some of the food is half price so we get there early.  And also because the place fills up so fast and we want a good seat.  It was kindof a bit calm this year without Brooke, Abi and Andrew.  We did manage to get on the Jumbo tron once however.  Usually we are on it a few times.  I think we should just call Christmas complete.  I have had the Sing A Long so I'm ready to just vacation and NOT have all the worry about Christmas presents and all the money I will spend that I don't have:)

Here is Brooke ready for the Sing a Long ...but she is in Florida and they don't have one.  All that HUD she is wearing I sent to her for a Pre Christmas gift.  She loves HUD.  It really is one of her qualities is a HUD lover.  We missed her so much at the Sing a Long.
