Nick and the seizure

This am as I was getting ready for Work, I heard something downstairs and was like 'What is going on'?  Jack says 'whats wrong with Nick'?   He went downstairs and I followed.  Nick was having a seizure.  Right on the floor by the washer.  He was making this gurgling noise that I have never heard him make before, but last time I saw a seizure he was sitting up in my room.  So, I didn't know what to do, but I do know that 911 doesn't do much because by the time they get there, it is usually over.  So I just watched and waited....Saying his name and watching what he was doing.

When it stopped, he rolled over and I asked him if he knew who I was, and he said no.  I never know if he really doesn't know who I am, or he doesn't want to be bothered.  He tried to get up, and walk, and I walked him into the family room to the couch.  He layed down, and finally told me his name and my name and who my mom was.  That made me feel better.  I called the doc and we have an appt on Thursday.  I had to take the day off, so my buds at school were pinch hitting for me and figuring out what to have my sub to if I could even get a sub at 7:00 in the morning...

Nick slept til like 11:30 and I woke him up occasionally just to make sure he was alive.  He woke up once and said he had a headache an needed ibuprofin.  Later when  he really woke up around 1:00, he sat up and wanted Betos and said he knows where he hit his head because he has a bump.  He said he was zoning out this am in the shower and so he hurried and got out, so he didn't go down in the shower again and break off the faucet thing.  He said the zoning out got closer and closer together and lasted longer.  He went upstairs to get his clean clothes and he was down in the hallway in the basement with his clothes all over.

He thinks he forgot his meds last night.  I hope that is the case.  That is a better scenario than having a seizure being on medicine because that means the meds don't work.

He didn't go to LAX or school today.  I didn't go to school either.  But I did end up getting my hair done.  He seemed to be ok by 3:00 when I had my Dew appt.

He always has seizures in the am and he has only had them at home and last year at Gma's house.  I am grateful that it is the case.

Nick's the Man

Nick has been very busy right now.  He goes to school, practices LAX every day after school from 4:30  to 6:30.  Then when he has a game, he is gone til usually 8 or 9.  This week, he went to school, then played  game on Tuesday, lax practice on Wed (then he went to Young Mens), Game on Thursday, Practice on Friday.  Then Gma wanted her lawn mowed, so Nick mowed the lawn on Friday night.

He was so tired, that I mowed the back lawn for him.  I wore the lawn mowing shoes that were horrible.  I didn't want to wear his cleats that he has on.
I went to the gym during practice, so I only had my gym shoes that I didn't want to ruin with grass.  It is therapeutic to mow the lawn.

We were so tired from gym, and mowing and Lax that we went to Cafe Rio.  The rule is if I pay, then the other has to go in and pick it up.  He was ok with that.  I hate that part.  We got 25 bonus points for our order.  Wow we are saving so much money.

He gets mad at me for taking a pic so thats all I got.

Saturday Nick worked at Lagoon at 10:00 am to 6:00.  He also had a LAX game at 6:00 at Olympus High School.  So we sped down and got there by 6:30.  They were before first quarter ended.  He got to play the rest of the game.  The guy behind me was laughing because he said that the Defense guy #37 took his phone out there and had to throw it back out to the coach.  THAT was Nick.  I didn't even see it.

These are the only pics I could get because it is far away.  He won't let me take any either.

We were so tired AGAIN so we decided to get 25 more bonus points at Cafe Rio.  Same deal applies.  You have to go in and get it if I pay.  AND you have to remember silverware and check for salad dressings are all there.  Or Queso if we get that.  And make sure to get the receipt so I can scan it for the reward points.  Nick is getting pretty good.

So after all of that, it is Sunday and the just assigned him a shift.  He had to work 10 - 3.  Now he wants to go driving.

Earth Day 2019

The Science Teachers at my school like to celebrate Earth Day.  We order T shirts and wear them on Earth Day.  We have been doing this for about 6 years.

It has expanded to our other friends in the English Department and Library and Music Department.

Here I am wearing the Earth Day Shirt.  Not sure how to get it right side up

This is what our Shirt Looks like .  It is one of my favorite shirts we have gotten.

Usually we get all of us together for a photo.  Here's just 3.  Me, Tina (my Science bud) and Christen.  She's our bud from English.  Don't we look festive.

Driving practice

One thing about being a parent I don't like is the teaching them to drive part.  It scares me to death, and I worry the entire time about getting in a wreck and then what am I going to do.  I only have one car now, so there is NO one to even pick me up if we wreck it.

Nick is learning to drive.  Sunday is our best day to drive.  NO one is on the roads and we can just practice away.

I let Nick drive home from church, and he conveniently went by Maverik so he could use his gift card he got in the Easter Egg Hunt.  He bought a burrito and a drink.  He also bought my drink which I thought

Jack had to go with us or walk home.  He choose to come with us but wasn't very excited...

Nick didn't buy his drink at Maverik.  I had to do that.

We dropped Jack off and drove around by the Cross E Ranch, and over by the soccer fields.  He is getting pretty good when there are no cars.  I didn't even feel like I was going into the ditch this time  Maybe we will venture on to busier roads next week.

Easter

Since most of my children are away at school...they got their Easter baskets in the mail.

This is the before when I was assembling them.  I'm not very creative but Reeses seem to be the favorite.  Brooke did get her meds in hers so that limited the candy.

We had our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Gma's house.  I only had two children there.  Nick and Jack are the only ones home.  We had Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner.  Everyone else was there besides Marti and my three kids.  Well Gpa wasn't there because he is in Heaven.

Such a fun party.  Love everyone there.  I can't believe that the Older kids still want to come and find Easter eggs.  Might be the money they find in the eggs.  Nick got the grand prize easter egg with a gift card to Maverik in it.  I wonder if Nick has ever been to Maverik...

LAX and Park City

Nick has continued to play Lax.  He has been doing a great job and plays most of the game.

They played Park City and lost...

Nick is #37 in the white.  He has a D pole which is very long.

Baseball season has begun

Jack's baseball season has begun. He didn't need to try out for his team, because he was chosen by the coach before hand.  He has been on this team for the past 3 years.  He loves it.

He has only had a few games, and he has pitched in most of them.

I think these are of him pitching. I'm not the best at uploading videos.

Taxes 2018

Taxes finally filed, sealed and emailed.  I filled out and filed mine, Andrew, Abi, Brooke and Marlena.  That took all 5 of my allotted filing for my Turbo Tax.  It got kindof tricky because of the education credit.  It is a weird credit because you can only take it 4 times and you have to have a form from the school T-1098 and if box 1 is greater than box 5 you can take it.  (something like that)  Well only Brooke got the credit this year.  Anyway, that took a while for me to figure out...

So, finally after all 5 were finished, I efiled them.  Brooke came back rejected.  So I had to fix something and resubmit.  But All 4 were accepted.  I did print and mail Marlena's because she wasn't getting anything back and doesn't have to pay.  So snail mail for her.  I didn't e-file the state either because it did cost 24.99 to e-file.  Nope, I can print and mail them for 0.50 each.  It just takes longer which is ok.  It use to be 19.99 and I would spend that for me sometimes because I usually got a large return from them.  Nope this year not that much.

Its a good feeling to know they are filed and accepted.  Just waiting for my return to arrive:)

Dancing With The Stars

Andrew in the fall won the competition for Mr. SUU.  Which meant he was chosen to compete in Dancing With The Stars as a Star.  We decided to go and watch him.  We ventured over to Cedar City after LAX practice and purchasing him a T Shirt for the competition.  We found his name on the front of the Program.

                                                                            His biggest fans.

His Partner, Mattie choreographed the dance and picked out the costumes too.

These were his other competitors that he is friends with.

What a great Event.  Loved watching Andrew and everyone worked so had to pull off the event.  Great job!
