Abi turns 20

Abi turned 20.  This is a post like on facebook that 20 years ago today, Abi came into the world...Yes she did.  Abi came into the world as my first baby that came home from the hospital with me.  She was 5 weeks early, but was healthy and strong to come home. I kept seeing advertisements for Outback Steakhouse with a special for 19.99.  On the way home, we took Abi to Outback.  She was two days old, right after we stopped at Target. I had nothing for a new baby.  I had never had a baby come home with me so I didn't have diapers, wipes, formula, etc.  It was the BEST to bring a baby home with you.

Our Birthday Cake.  Nick helping out for the 20 fingers for the 20 years old

The Honey Ty brought this over to Abi for her birthday.  It has just the right mango and Lime in her diet dr pepper

Abi is a great golfer.  I have missed watching her play in tournaments.

Abi is super smart, fun, entertaining, responsible, kind, hard worker,  adventurous, and an all around great friend.  I love that she is here with us for the summer.  She adds so much to our family.

She is also the treasurer of her Nursing association.  Way to go

Happy 20th Birthday Abi!

Scheels With Abi

Abi has moved home for the Summer.  School is online and so she came home since her roommates were all moving out.  She got a job at Bountiful Community Hospital as a CNA.  She has to be on her feet for LONG hours at a time.  She decided she needed some new shoes for that.  Well, conveniently Scheels is open during our Corona Virus shut down.  So we took a field trip.  We got her some new shoes to wear to work.  And a Carhartt shirt and some candy.  Can't go to Scheels without getting some candy too.

We couldn't ride the ferris wheel because it was closed due to Corona.  Yay.  I have never ridden it since I hate them.  We also tried to go to Trader Joe's but there was about 20 people waiting to get in.  NOPE we will go another time.  We are just trying to get through Corona.  I love having her to Cat Around with me.  It's also great to be able to sort of walk with my new boot too.

Cemetary Roadrtip

We needed something to do. We decided to drive to the cemetary in Spanish Fork. I usually go with my mom and sister but usually don't take my kids. Abi and Nick and I decided to go for a drive.  We visited with my dad and my sister.  Actually both of my sisters.

Not sure why we didn't get a pic with Melanie.  She is to the left.  It is such a beautiful cemetary and we are kindof near the back.  I have a plot right were Nick and Abi are standing.

We also got some lunch and a drink so it was a fabulous day.

Dr Update and Golf

I had my follow up for 6 weeks at the doctor today.  He cleared me to walk around in my boot!  Yahoo.  He said I can't exercise but I can put weight on it.  YAY.  I was super excited.

I was so excited that when I got home Abi and Nick and I went to the driving range.  We got there and had to call the club house saying we were there for the range, and paid with credit card over the phone and then they walked our bucket of balls to the range.  We were minimizing contact with people.  It was a great system.

We hit two large buckets.  Nick and Abi did great.  I hit a total of about 10 balls.  It was fun to just be out in the sunshine although it was cold.  We needed to get out from quarantine.

There I am with my boot.

After golf we went on a drive to look at the cherry blossoms at the capital and Del Taco.  We have to do our best to keep the local businesses in business during this time of quarantie...)  It was a fun day and so good to walk on my foot after so long!

Easter and Home Church

Easter Sunday was upon us and we finally decided to have church at home.  We gathered Nick, Abi and Me at 2:00.  Jack was asleep and he wasn't having any church.  We found a youtube of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple square singing "He Is Risen"  and then "Christ the Lord is Risen today".  We sang along with them if we wanted.  I said the prayer.  Nick did the Sacrament.  He has been doing home visits and the bishop told him to do the sacrament like when they do home visits.  He knew what to do.  I told him he needed to at least put on a white shirt and pants.  Then he showed up in a tie too.  Oh we even had a sacrament hymn "There is a Green Hill Far Away".   After the sacrament we watched some Easter videos on Gospel Library.  That was it.   It lasted like 30 minutes or so.  I am really glad we decided to have church. It was super low key and no stress because the only preparation was finding the videos and getting the sacrament ready.   Nick said next week we are watching a video about when Christ was Crucified.  We are in every week from now on.

It was also Easter.  I didn't even bother getting out the Easter baskets.  We had Easter tupperwear bowls.  It served the purpose. I usually get everyone shorts and a shirt and this year I only gave socks.  Stores are closed and I can't get around to shop.  We can get them later although we probably won't need clothes for school until fall.  (I hope not but I'm not sure)

Jack went with me to the store to get the stuff so he picked out his socks and kept them in the basement.  So they are not in the picture.

We didn't even have an Easter Egg hunt at Grandmas house since we are social distancing.  We all stayed home and had our own Easter.

After church, we went on an Easter drive.  We drove to Layton and checked out where the temple will be.  It is on some beautiful farm property.  We got a drink and a treat at McDonalds and then drove to look at the Ogden temple.  We had a great drive then came home and had dinner of Sweet and Sour Chicken (Becky Beck's recipe)  and Rice Pilof.  Strawberry shortcake was on the menu but I forgot to get the shortcake cups.  I was even going to get twinkies but forgot at both stores.  So we had Frozen Yogert pie instead.

It was a great Easter.  I think because it was simple and fun and no pressure.  We got to watch some great videos and sing some great hymns.

Dump and Lawn Mowing

Nick mowed the Grandma's lawn.  It got him out of the house and Grandma thought she needed her lawn mowed.

I sat out side and talked to the Grandma while Nick mowed. We stayed 6 feet apart.  Sunshine is so good for the soul.

Since it is Bountiful Clean up, and it was cancelled, the dump is free of charge.  The Grandma has been itching to get rid of some stuff in her garage...So Nick and I decided to take a few loads to the dump.  He has plenty of time.  Online school isn't taking all of his time...for either of us...

This was the line to get into the dump.  Other people must have had our same ideas

Nick was a pretty good sport at taking like 3 trips to the dump.  He did get rid of that TV in or basement...He didn't complain about that because he was the one that broke that TV because he was mad and threw something at it.  I love to get rid of things.  It does make one think twice about stuff when you see what happens to all our stuff. It just sits there in the dump...

Morning Drives

I have been recovering from a Peronial tendon Repair to my Left ankle. The recovery has been super slow...I have been off it for a total of 6 weeks.  NO weight at all.  I have to take a scooter everywhere or crutches...Since being home due to corona I am going stir crazy. I  can't go out and take a walk or anywhere for that matter.  So I have started taking a morning drive before I start my school work.  It has been very therapeutic for my soul.  I get a drink at the McDonalds since I can't go in to Maverick like I did before school.

It has been super fun to have Abi home from school because she has joined me.  We get a drink or some food and drive and look at houses or golf courses or the Salt Lake Temple renovation project.

We check out the golf courses to see if they are crowded or if they allow carts....

.

We have even stopped at Parsons to get cookies on our travels...  Abi goes in because I can't.

We also have been trying to patronize the local restaurants so they can stay in business.  Here we are at Jersey Mike's. They were fabulousl

This is Bountiful Ridge. I don't like to golf there, but it makes for a good driving spot on the am.
