Abi has been Creative
Abi has been working on a quilt since she got back from College. She had a bunch of T shirts from Soccer and golf from High School. She cut them apart and made this quilt. It turned out so cute. There is this nice Minky material on the back that is so soft. It looks great. Way to go Abi!
LAX finally
Lacrosse finally started back up after Covid. Nick and Jack have both started and practiced this past week and had their first games.
Nick had two games on Friday, but he had to be there for the Varsity game before his. So I sat through 4 games. It was only about 100 degrees. It was hot . He is number 37. It was fun to watch him play and am so glad we are back playing.

This game was against Davis and they won with a last minute goal.
This game was against Freemont and I think they won also.
Jack turns 14
Jack Michael was born on June 6, 2006 at 6:00. I will never forget that date or time.
I asked him what he wanted for dinner and he said he didn't care. I thought Costco pizza would be good but we had Lacrosse that night and didn't get to pick it up before it closed. So, second best tacos. We had Tacos and then Root Beer Floats. We are not cake lovers for birthdays

Jack got some new Vans, a Champion shirt, and some headphones with a mic. He wanted the headphones the most. So glad that Jack joined our family 14 years ago. That is his friend Tony who celebrated with us.
Making Masks
So, Corona hits and hospitals are dying for medical protection. There was a movement to make masks for healthcare workers (or others) because they were in short supply. I helped a friend make some and so I decided to get my own 100 masks....You pick up a kit at the DI on Tuesday, follow the instructions and sew them and bring them back on Saturday. Each kit had 100 masks.
All the supplies are included but thread.
Here's the sewing machine I used. It was my Grandma Lewis' machine. It did give up the ghost while I was using it. Good thing we were at Michelle's house and she had two machines we used to finish them.
I had some help from Michelle
And help from Brooke and Ty.
Micaela also helped with Sewing but I didn't get a pic of her. We worked and worked and got all the 100 done. I had already finished 20 at home so we needed to do 80. It took about 4 hours with all of us working. It was fun and I appreciated all their help and I even got them turned in on time.
Teacher Appreciation and Corona
I was having a great year this year. I had some great kids. Then Corona Virus hit and we were at home school as of March 15. I was sick about it and so were the kids. We forged forward and did it and survived. The kids missed out on so many things, especially the seniors. But we missed out on sports, activities, prom, yearbook day and so many more. But at the end of the year, I received this message on Canvas from Joe Chandlier.
THEN I received this email from Sam Wood. He was the Student Body President and a fantastic student.
THEN I received this from another student, Will Marx who I loved too. He attached a 25.00 gift card to Amazon. I don't know how to copy that one, so I just copied the note he sent. He also gave me 15.00 to Target for Christmas. He knows what I love.
It was super nice to receive them. So kind and thoughtful. I just like knowing that they might have learned something in the class and that hopefully the LOVED Biology and learning. Really, that's what I want. I hope so much we get corona under control so we can go back to school and be with each other and learn from each other.
Great year
Thank you so much for being a great teacher and giving me a wonderful year and being patient and teaching me so much! Thank you have a great summer!

This came with a 40.00 gift card to Amazon. I tried to post a picture of it, but it wouldn't post.
Dear Ms. Clemons, thank you for being such a great teacher for Sam! He loved your class. Sam says, "You are my favorite ever science teacher!"

Hello Mrs. Clemons,

Nicks new job
Nick has been working at Home Depot in the garden center. He is there in the green vest. He works for the vender of the flowers so thats why he is in the green vest and not an orange apron. He unloads flowers and stocks the tables and waters them. He won't ever let me get a picture so this is the best I could get. He makes me park and drop him off so he can walk in and not be seen with me. He won't let me come in and shop while he is there either.
I did get this another day of him and his green vest walking in. Its the best I'm going to get I think.
He goes to football, then work, and then Lacrosse. He is really working hard and is super tired when he is home. Which is good. It was good for him to get a job during Covid and it has carried over for the summer.
Football and a Seizure
So I get a call from Nick's phone after the gym. It was Coach Freck the football coach on the other end. I knew immediately what happened. Nick had a seizure at football and the paramedics were there. He is fine now he said. I told him I would be right there. Brooke and I jumped in the car, with the rescue medication, and headed over to the Football weight room. My heart skipped a beat and was totally sick.
We arrived about 15 minutes later and Brooke ran in. I couldn't run in because I am still hobbling around due to my foot surgery. They thought she was the mom....but then they walked out and met me because I was slower. There was two ambulances and a fire truck in the parking lot, and about 10 paramedics or fireman in the weight room. Coach Freck said they said they were doing a cheer , family, and the boys were like 'COACH;...and Nick was down. Coach Freck said that Nick was having a seizure that lasted for about one minute. The football kids were outside on the stairs. It was the first day of practice so I felt so bad. These boys have been at home on Covid quarantine and the first day out, they end up waiting outside because of Nick's seizure. Nick wanted to go home with his friend Ben...ummm Nope with me.
So, he went home, and I told him he needed to sleep upstairs so I could monitor him. He said ok. I had to go somewhere, so Brooke said she would tend him.
this is how I found Brooke when I got back. . .
This is Nick after the seizure, sleeping.
We got knock on the door about 9:30 at night and this is what we found.
His friend, Tea, (I think thats the spelling) brought them to him . So nice.
I called the Dr. and she said we needed to come in and get some medication change. Obviously the medication isn't working..I sure hope we get the medication figured out. He can't drive for THREE more months. He is so mad and embarrassed. I'm just glad that he didn't have a seizure with his friend on the way home or alone or during a heavy lift.
I feel like its a tender mercy that he is with someone every time it happens. I just hope and pray we can figure his medication out.
My Favorite Girls
I have been blessed to have both of my girls home. It is the absolute best. The bring so much happiness to me and the Family. They are so much fun to hang and just laugh with. They are the best. I can't imagine life without them. I hope they always want to hang out with me. They are my favorite girls of all time!
There they are at the gym. We have been going every day and have been rocking it. Its so much easier to go with they want to go.
