Death Valley

So, spent the weekend on a road trip.  I was on my way to Death Valley to play golf.  I went with a friend who has a golf group.  There were a total of 12 people and we were meeting in Death Valley to play golf.  So a few of us went through Tonopah, NV the first day.  We Stayed at the Tonopah Station.  I can say it isn't as bad as it looks.  Room was clean and the food was ok.

We all caravaned in the morning to Death Valley.

This was the scenery that I saw on the way.  It was a beautiful desert terrain the entire way.  And don't run low on gas, because there isn't really anywhere to get gas for over 100 miles.

We arrived in Death Valley for our golf Tee time at 11:00.  This is my new hat.  All the ladies bought new pink hats.

Golf course in the middle of no where looked like this.

Thats my golf friend, Barb in the back of me.

There is a coyote under that tree...

That is a different coyote.  Someone said the second day that it was a fox...not sure, but different wildlife than we usually see on the course.

Super cool course.  It is the lowest Golf Course on Earth and it also said it is rated in the top 50 most difficult courses. I don't think so because I didn't think it was that hard.  It was all flat.  It might be the most difficult because it is lower than sea level and so the air is thicker and your drives go shorter.  Not sure though.

Did some sight seeing and this is a borax mine that is abandoned.

Temperature was soo nice.  Perfect weather for golf or anything else.

The golf group Not sure why I'm over there, except the Bush is in my way

Here are the ladies in their matching hats

This was the Devil's golf course.  It is super cool formations of salt crystals.   I about fell down trying to keep ahold of my new hat that blew away!

Super fun trip.  People are talking about scheduling for next year. I'm all in.  I hate people to find out about Death Valley and the golf because it was absolutely fabulous.

AND the highlight was visiting ABI in St George for a few minutes.  Brought her and Brody a Maverick drink.  Love to see Abi always!  oh and Love to see Brody too.

SweetHearts Date for Nick

This school year is very different than years past with the Cornoa Virus running rampant.  There are no dances to Nick and his friends decided to have their own Dance.

Nick got answered From her this way.  I didn't get a picture of how he asked her since I didn't see it...

He asked a girl from Woods Cross and I taught her a few years ago.  They went to TopGolf and took pictures and then Cafe rio and hanging out at someone's house playing basketball, volleyball.

I'm sure there is a way from Instagram to just save the pictures but I haven't figured it out yet.  But super fun.  I even found that turtleneck for Nick in the store.  Who buys a turtleneck these days?  It was on sale for 4.79 and with my coupon it was 2.70.  You would never know.  Maybe they will come back in style again.  :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays.  Celebrate or not the ones you love however you want.  I usually give them socks.  There is some candy, a very thoughtful card and some socks from me to the kids.  Brooke didn't really seem to excited about socks so she got her Mandalarian or some Star Wars shirt from Old Navy that we saw yesterday when we were buying everyone socks.  I had to buy candy twice because Jack ate the candy the first time...:)

This is the valentine I found cleaning out my closet that my parents gave me a few years ago.  This is what my dad did for valentines.  it is 25 dollars in Susan B. Anthony dollars.  He glued them in an heart.

Valentine's from Grandma.  She doesn't glue coins on a poster board like my dad did.

I mailed Andrew and Abi their valentine candy and some money for some socks and of course some Valentine decor.

Ty Brought these flowers to Brooke

And he regifted this Martinelli's.  He even mostly took off the tag from his grandma

Ty brought me some Ben and Jerry's Tonight Dough.  It's my favorite.

And these cookies and Popcorn you can only sort of see in the pic.  It was Chocolate and strawberry.

B and Lola celebrated Valentines' Day with us.  We were tending them.  Notice their valentine's day bandana that Brooke added for them.

What is not fun about celebrating LOVE.

No Dust Pan

I came home to a clean kitchen one day.  Which is the absolute best.  Then I found this note over a tupperware bowl...

This is our sports room.  All our LAX gear and Golf clubs.  It looks like we are so athletic...

This is my new bed set up.  This quilt my mother and gma made for me when I got married 23 years ago and I have only used it sort of.  I decided to get it out and use it.  There is no reason to keep it in the garage in a bin.  Minimalists do not store things for later.  And Since I'm a minimalist, I decided to use this one instead of buying a new one.  I'm sure I'll change my mind in a while and decide that minimalists only have things they like so I'll change it and get a new one...:)

I have had to have more dental work.  I'm all nummed up.  Getting a THREE teeth bridge.  Dentures I'm sure are in my future.  I also need a root canal because I have a tooth that hurts now.  Good thing I like my dentist.  :)

Covid and Suspension

We have had some fairly nice days this winter.  We decided to try a winter hike.  Michelle and Maureen's hiking on Saturday Am included Brooke, Marti and Nick this week.  We went to the suspension bridge.  We seem to like that one.  I made it to the bridge...but not without some sweating and the slowest one.   It had snow in some spots.  Good thing Michele brought her clamps for her shoes and let me use one.  I do have 5 pair of them in my car that I didn't bring...

On another note, Abi and Maureen are fully vaccinated with Covid 19.  We have both had two doses!  Mark, Paula, and Marlena are also fully vaccinated.
