Haircut

Abi and Brody post this photo of them in Oklahoma.  If you notice, I am in the back seat.  WHAT?   Little do they know I LOVE being in the back seat.  

Abi and Brody went to Oklahoma for Brody's Birthday. He served his mission there.  AND look what they found.  Fazoli's.  We loved Fazoli's when they were in SLC.  

No that is not a small Pet.  Nick has gotten his hair cut for his mission.  That was all over McKenna's floor.  He did have a lot of hair.

Update

 Here's the update on the knee.  It looks horrible.  Absolutely Horrible and that is how I feel.  horrible.  

I have had people taking care of me and I just feel yuck.  Brooke, Marlena and Andrew and Michelle have taken care of me during this week.  And Wonton too.  Marlena got Rumbi's for lunch, and then Brook ate mine because I was so sick.  

Olive Garden for the win on Saturday.  

It really hurts on the right side with all the bruising.

First LAX of the season

 

Bountiful started their LAX season against Bingham.  It was a cold game and Jack and Nick both started the JV game.  They played almost the entire time.  They lost however.  

Bionic knee

I did it today. I had my left knee replaced.  I can't believe I finally did it but I have been in so much pain.

Michelle picked me up at 5:50 am.  We arrived on time. That was a genetic for us.  I wasn't the first one to register.  I was however, the first one for Dr. Edwards.  That would be LaVell Edwards son.

After surgery lunch.  They fed us Zuppas.  Kindof unusual that we ordered our lunch from them  before we ever went into surgery.  Michelle got one too.  I took it as a sign that they thought I would survive the procedure and need lunch.

Obviously I didn't have a facelift with all those wrinkles.  After in recovery

First stop after surgery is Maverick.  Michelle is such a good driver and support.

I did my exercises and I feel pretty good.  They did a spinal block and a nerve block so that make the anesthetic so much better.  They said today and tomorrow will be ok.  It is the third day that isn't so great.  Glad this part is over. 

I'm Ready - NOT

 

The time has finally come to get my knee surgery. I have waited and waited and waited.  I can't walk or even think about walking.   Here is the last picture of my knee BEFORE the huge incision.  I took it upside down so not sure it shows the full effect.  I'm stinking nervous.  More so than usual.

The knee is sitting straight on the bed.  They said they would straighten it out. 

I had to scrub my leg tonight in the shower and also tomorrow.  Keep those germs down

Brooke and Ty went to Gma's and got me all loaded up with supplies.  I used a bunch of them when I had my ankle surgery.  Here's the walker.   I hope I don't need to use it

Crutches that I hate.  Not sure where the furry things I got for them are.  I probably threw them away.  And the cane.  I love that cane because it stands up.  One doesn't need to pick it up off the ground.  It is just there.  

And the shower chair.  I used this for like 2 months when I had my ankle surgery.  Jack wants to know how many bare bums have been on this chair.  Well, we think about 6 unless Jack used it and didn't tell anyone and then it is 7.  

I picked up the meds today.  What a great idea to get them the day before than the day of.  

Nothing to eat or drink after midnight.  So around 11:45 pm I'll be breaking open a Diet Coke so I don't get a caffeine headache.  Insurance card - check.  Photo ID - check.  Copay - check (I think).  Driver - check.   I'm the first one tomorrow so Michelle is picking me up at 5:50 am.  I'm sure we will be early.  She says she's nervous so I don't need to be.  I'm mostly not nervous unless I think about it.

Dr Visit - Cross that off The List

                Nick had to go to the Dr and get a Physical to submit his mission papers.  

                                   He just left to get his eyes tested and weight and height.  

He really wasn't cooperating in the picture category.

He sure cooperated for the after Dr. visit Maverick drink and Corn dog.  I always remember to pick up a Corn dog at the Maverick when I'm there.  

He did have to say he could walk 6 to 8 miles a day.  Seriously?  I'm not sure he remembererd Disneyland

Nick needed his LAX stick restrung and they close at 6:00.  Andrew volunteered to pick up the stick.  They have you throw in the cage to make sure it is ok.  Andrew tested it out for Nick.  

Speaking of Physicals, Jack had to get his Physical for LAX too.  This is as good as it gets for the pic of Jack.  

They all passed.  

Maverick is our Favorite (always)

 

We have a thing for Maverick.  Always need a Maverick drink or some gas.  Well, Abi and Brody LOVE maverick too.  They had a wedding pictures taken there and Fillmore Maverick is where they got engaged.  Maverick sent them some Maverick SWAG.  Super cool.  

One of my student  made these cool clam cookies and gave me one.  

Getting our Gains on

 I found this post that I never posted.  Just put some pictures.  Here we are at the Planet.  Jack, Nick and Brooke in the front. 

My mother and Grandma made this for me when I got married and I kept it in a box.  I decided I didn't want red and I had another one I was using.  Well, decided after 25 years married and a divorce it is now time to use it.  Why not.  Use it and wear it out.  Then get a new one.  I can stand red for a bit again now.

I was trying to decide which shirt to wear with the stripe sweater.  I think I decided on basic black.

Wanted to buy this for Nick at Target but decided I didn't want to spend money on that.  But I still really like it.
