Father's Day

Father's Day is my favorite hoiday.  Because it requires no effort on my part.  My dad is dead and I'm divorced. However, my kids celebrate father's day with me.  It is because I am the Mother and the Father.

Andrew got us Cafe Rio for dinner.  Always a winner.

I saw this on Instagram.

And they gave me a wagon for hauling our stuff to the Bear Lake.  Absolutely
LOVE it.

I just love that they remember me.  And hopefully I did something right along the way with them.

I do feel bad every single day that they didn't have a better father figure.  That part was missing for their entire growing up.  I am glad and grateful that they seem to have done well in spite of my short comings in the father department.  :

9 Holes

Andrew and I decided to go play some golf.  It was hot and it was like 3:00 so we thought we wouldn't have any trouble getting on the course.  We did.  It was Men's league at Rose Park and West Bountiful.  We headed to Golf the Round.  They don't require tee times, you just show up and get in line to golf.  I have been to the driving range there but never played a round.

It was a LONG ways from the clubhouse to the first hole.  You woul definitely want a cart.

Each hole had a curb so you couldn't get very close to your ball.  You had to walk.  That was kindof hard for me since I have knee trouble and walking uphill and on grass is still difficult.  But I did it.

These are the only pics I took.  Andrew hit his ball into the water.  He is getting it out with his scoop he got for his Birthday last year.  LOVE that scoop.  He found like 3 other balls.

I survived and actually played 9 holes of golf.  Glad my knee surgery didn't stop me. I'm not any better than I was before the surgery.  But That would take a miracle for sure.

Had fun with Andrew.  Glad he likes to golf with is mom.

Decluttering Update

I printed off the 2022 challenge and am going strong.  I'm almost finished with page one which is probably 1000 things.  I mean close to that.  I am trying to get rid of stuff while Andrew is here to haul it to the dump or the DI.

LOVE crossing off the HUD as it leaves the house. I still have two bags of stuff to go, but I don't color in the boxes until it is out of the house.

Jack dumping some clothes at the Multiple Sclerosis bin in my school parking lot.  Closer than the DI and I think the DI gets so much stuff.  And they are only open for donations at limited times.

This is my old water heater I had to replace.  I finally took it to Home Depot and it was under warranty.  Another thing I needed Andrew to help me with.  So, I got $477 on a gift card to Home Depot.  I'm sure it was to purchase another water heater but I already bought one so I can buy whatever.  Funny this is the year that I don't have a project going.  I'm usually painting something.  I almost just hauled it to the dump and skipped the Home Depot step.  So glad I didn't.

Here's some sandals I couldn't decide about.  I'm not trying out for Joseph so I'm not sure I'll need these.  I have never worn them but I think they are super cute.

And I have been going to the Planet to ride the bike since I'm not doing so well with my knee.

Sweet Sixteen for Jack

Jack decided to grow up on me.  He turned 16.  We were trying to have a birthday party for him, but he couldn't figure out when.  Sunday was out because he was at Michelle's family dinner for his birthday.  Monday, (his actual birthday) was out because he was going out with some friends.

Tuesday was it.  However, around 5 when he wanted the party (early) he was just anty.  So we decided to just have rootbeer floats, give him his present and call it a birthday.

Abi and Brody and Jack so cute

Carhart shirt from me, and Brooke and Ty gave him one.  I don't think I got a pic of that.

Jack in his knee brace from the doc

Root beer floats since we don't like cake much

Good thing we still have Gma's crutches I borrowed for my knee surgery

Glad we have Jack in our family.  Glad he got to go with his friends.

The rest of us went to The Habit for dinner after Jack left.  Good food for sure.

Park City Tournament LAX

Jack was asked to play on this LAX team for Syracuse.  The coach works at Holiday gas station that we go in every day.  It is also where Nick works.  So he joined and went to the tournament.  He did great.

He played the whole time...well, until he took a HUGE hit and went down.  HE hurt his knee and was out for a while.  He went back in and said it was a mistake.

So, Monday, we went to the doctor and had an X Ray.  Nothing was broken and she thought it was just hurt.  Ice and Elevate.
