Elder Clemons Week 7 Satanists are Wack

 Satanist's are wack!! Week 7

What's up yall. Hope all of you had a great week and a even better sabbath day!! Nebraska is pretty chill. Except the humidity was really bad Tuesday and it was like 104 degrees and it just happened to be the one day we were street contacting in South Omaha so that kinda sucked. We also went to the zoo this week and I talked to a few satinist's.

Monday: it was elder Waltons birthday so we went to the zoo. The Nebraska zoo is sick!! It's like 10x better than the hogle zoo. It also has this like dome thing around one of there areas that sucks all the humidity out of the air so it felt like I was back in Utah in there haha. After that we did like 3 hours of service at this lady's house who was just covered in weeds. She just told us to pull everything so we did. 

 Tuesday: we had some social media training on Tuesday which basically just is a zoom call on how to be safe on Facebook. It was pretty lit. After that we had zone and district council. These meeting take like hours and it's just to report our numbers for the week but I get to see everyone in the zone which is nice. After that we went and saw our friend Kyla. She told us that two books were way too confusing so she's going back to her old church which is sad but we're gonna try and convince her to stay! Then we went and saw our friend Wendy. She is so close to getting dunked. She moves out in a few days which is the only thing holding her back. She's so excited though!! 

 Wednesday: wooooback Wednesday!!! I had my first interview with the mission president. President Bailey is so awesome and loves his missionaries so much. The Interview went great! Later that day we went and talked to brother Burroughs. I love going over to brother Burroughs house because he's our football plug in the ward. So everyime we go over to teach him he has football on and we talk about it for like 40 minutes. Then we set up for BOM study. Carlos was the only one who showed up so he took us out to get some ice cream in South O baby! We are the ice cream while talking about lehis dream which was nice 

 Thursday: we went and helped at cathlico which is always fun. They have an endless supply of Mac and cheese so I'm not gonna have to buy Mac and cheese for like 4 months now haha. Then we helped our landlord with some yard work around our house. Milton replaced the dishwasher upstairs and it was full of water so the whole apartment smelled really really bad. Then one of Milton's workers is kinda crazy and started talking about flds church and then he said everyone in Utah and Idaho is racist and rich. So it was just an awkward conversation. 

 Friday: I don't like Fridays in the mission because we have weekly planning and that takes like 2 hours and all we do is sit there but we went to the gas station before so that made it a little better haha. Then we taught brother woods. He's super cool.

(Even though he's a patriots fan). This lesson was just weird though cause he just tried to argue everything we were saying. 

 Saturday: our ward had this lunch at the temple so we spent a couple hours around the temple grounds. Even just the grounds around the temple are so peaceful and the spirit is just everywhere. I love it!! Also the winter quarters temple is very very pretty. Then a lot of lessons fell through and then we ended the night with some basketball. Basketball gets intense and we play with a bunch of guys from the air force base so it's kinda scary. 

 Sunday: GAME DAY!! Kind of a sucky game day for our ward because none of the investigators showed up. Church was great. Later that night we ran into a satinist. He tried to tell us that God's love doesn't exist in this world and I proved him wrong with like 6 different scriptures then he told us to get out of his house so we did. It's just sad to see someone like that who's going to be miserable until he finds the gospel. 

 This week was hype. I also learned how to play Texas hold em this week and I think I'm pretty good at it. Hope you all have a good week!! Feel free to email me if you want!!

Facetime wtih Nick

 
Last night I get a call and here's Nick.  There was also Abi and Brody and Jack.  It was super fun to chat with Nick and see him.  

He was outside wearing his temple sweatshirt.  He was telling us about the Racoons acros the street.  Seriously, get inside if they are out there. He didn't seem to be bothered. He also told us of the satanists he has run into.  And the good food from Carlos. He loves tamales now.  He would never eat them when we had them.  

Abi had to leave since she is two hours ahead and had school tomorrow.  So Jack and I chatted for a bit more.  

I love that the church let's you chat with them more times than mother's day 

Leaf Hunt 2022

 We had our annual Leaf Hunt.  I guess the forever date is the weekend before General Conference.  Ok now we know.  

This is the group and Michelle made a poster for Elder Clemons since we missed him.  It has all of us in the picture and names of people that aren't here.  Hayden and Sierera didn't come since they live in Vegas .  

We cooked hot dogs and ate good food.  We then hunted for our best leaf.  Mark the judge said we had 10 minutes to find our leaf.  

Then, the winner was chosen.  It was Luke or Trey can't remember.  Grandma brought the fabulous prizes.  I think the best prize was the halloween mask from Dollar Tree with a Maverick gift card.  We have trained her well with getting a gift card for the Maverick.  

Everyone was there, except people from my family.  Brooke and ty were in Disneyland, Abi and Brody live in Boston, Andrew lives in Alabama, Nick is in Omaha on his mission.  That left our family of Jack and me.  Good thing his friend Jackson and Noelle came to be part of our numbers.  I'm sure they are planning to start a leaf hunt in their family after our fun experience.  :)

Hoco 2022

 Jack went to Homecoming over the weekend.  He asked his bestie Noelle.  I had to take Grandma to sierra's Baby shower in Lehi in the morning so I had to get all of Jack's clothes ironed AND tie his tie.  He doesn't know how to tie a tie.  He called me panicing because I didn't do a good job on this tie.

Meet me at Grandma's house when I drop her off and I can retie it.

Cheeseball anyone?

 

Paula brought this delicious Cheeseball to the leaf hunt.  

The last time we had a cheeseball was in Bear Lake.  It is where Ty shared Brittney's cheeseball.  They both LOVE cheeseballs.  

THEN, everyone came down with covid.  We think Ty gave it to Brittney by sharing the cheeseball.  Brooke had it (we think but tested negative), Grandma got it, then I got it, then Brittney got it.  Then Ty's brother Gunner got it.  oh and Michelle also got the Covid.  Ty never tested but he must have been the missing link for the Covid and cheeseball.

We will have to wait and see if we get another outburst of covid 

Kindof weird

 It is very weird at my house.  It is just Jack and me.  That is it.  Nick went on his mission and Andrew moved out to Alabama.  It is actually super quiet and kind of boring.  Jack is at football most of the time.  

I went to the dr yesterday.  I had a physical and got my form signed so I can get $20 off my health insurance each month for the year.  I had to get some blood drawn today for my results.  Here I am waiting for my blood draw.  I am wearing my NEW Carhartt shirt that I bought when I was shopping with Nick for his Mission.  We always shop at Carhartt for missions...

After the Doc I decided to go to Zeppes again.  It was not rush hour and I have this rental car I like to drive.  Just as good as yesterday.  Good thing they didn't mention my weight at the Dr.  I do have to go to the Cardiologist.  She thinks I need a good workup from them because of my Atrial Fib.  I told her they would have a difficult time finding my heart...:)  and last time I was there (over 20 years ago) I was told my heart was awful cold.  

With just Jack and me at the house you would think it would be clean.  NOPE.  Jack can't put anything away or shut a cupboard or even turn off  a light.  With so many other people living there it could be  a number of people that can't turn off the lights or shut doors.  But NOPE it is just him.  

I sent him these pics to show him.  He can't even throw away his fast food trash.  ok so I can't even return that walker in the corner to the Grandma.  I'm sort of guilty.
