Week 12!! I'm cracked at volleyball!!

Alright the title of this email may be lame. Unless you saw how bad at volleyball I was at the prove mtc. Shoutout elder carver for carrying me in the mtc but on p day we were playing volleyball and our team went down 15-5 but with my great volleyball skills we brought ourselves back and won!! That's was pretty much the only thing that happened on p day. The rest of this week was full of lots of lessons and street contacting. We also had stake conference this week and 2 70's pulled up and I shook both there hands so my right hand is just full of priesthood power right now haha

Monday: played a lot of basketball and then ate some really good Chinese food and then ended p day with some good volleyball and gatorball. After p day ended we went and saw our friend Adam who has been going through a lot but the important thing is he is still turning to God and reading the book of mormon.

Tuesday: we did a good amount of service for this member. It was fun service because we just picked up sticks of a hill and burned them. After we were done we roasted some marshmallows over the fire which were so bombbb. After that we went and did interviews with President Bailey. We had a bunch of member lessons so we just cranked those out for the rest of the day.

Wednesday: we had zone and district council. Our district has been killing it recently which is sick. A bunch of our lessons fell through that night so we did a lot of street contacting and then had a good member lesson about the power of prayer.

Thursday: my comp is the district leader so he gets to interview people to be baptized and so while he did that I taught his son about the restoration which was really cool. Then on our way to a member lesson we got stopped by a train for like 20 minutes so we had to make our member lesson that night really short which sucked soooo much.

Friday: we got to teach our friend Brittany who is super hype. Her daughter is like 3 and comes up with these super sassy comments about the book of mormon which is super funny. Friday night we had our wards trunk or treat which was super fun because we got to judge all of the chili. Some of the people in the Spanish branch came too and there chili was really really spicy.

Saturday: we knocked out some service In the morning and went to Tony's baptism!! President Bailey showed up which was so cool too. I felt the spirit so much when we gave him the holy ghost blessing.

Sunday: we had stake conference and it was so good. Both 70's gave amazing talks about the power of being a light in today's society. Then the rest of the night we got yelled at a lot from people saying that Jesus isn't real but we just move on and keep smiling. I know someday they will be great investigators.

That was basically my whole week. Hope all of you have a great Halloween. We get an all day p day because it's Halloween so feel free to email me!! Love you all!!

Facetiming Mondays

Nick gets to call on his P day.  So he does a group call or whatever and it is usually Brooke and Jack and me.  He calls Brody and he is usually at work.  This time, Abi got to join in.  I guess she got messenger.  I'm the one in the dark spot.  I was in the car and it was dark.

Nick sounds so good.  He got a hair cut from his companion and I'm not so sure about it.  But I'm sure the price was right.  He bought that new coat he is wearing.  He calls from the garage so he says it is cold there.

He said he bought some boots but didn't show them to us.  Fun Fact, a few days later, Grandma said she wanted to buy the Boots for him and gave me some money to put in his acct for him.

Nick did share this on Facebook

Mitchell, my nephew,  got a deer.  YUCK.  But so cool.  I guess they had to drag that for a LONG time to the truck in the dark.  Doesn't sound like that much fun to me.

I had an appt with the Cardiologist.  I saw this guy in the red.  He is Mr. Tate and I worked with him a long time ago and I love him.  Abi and Brooek also had him and liked him too.  Too bad he was too far away to talk to him.  It looks like he is taking his parents to the Doc.  I have missed working with him.

He is the one that told Abi to be a Physican Assistant and that she was smart enough. Or be an accountant.  Thats cool that she is actually being one.

Hopefully his parents have a follow up in 6 months and I can see him again

So Proud of our Ty

Proud of our Ty that he went to the Planet with Brooke.  Look at him rocking the machines  He is brave  I can only go to like the treadmill or bike.  He's rocking it.

HE will be so sad because I saw this today.  McRib is on its farewell tour.  He loves a good McRib.  This is the last season.  He is the only person, besides Melanie, my dead sister, that likes the McRib

I saw this on Mcdonalds post and then I get this pic

Doesn't that McRib just look delicious.  :)

Week 11!! "With those boots on nobody will know your from Northern Utah
What's up guys!! It's been a pretty crazy week! We found 10 new people this week.i feel like I'm really starting to hit my groove as far as teaching about the gospel goes. I even used the first vision in one my lessons this week which was so hype for me!
We  taught macry how to ride a bike. Macry left for the provo mtc yesterday and needed to know how to ride a bike for his mission so we taught him how and then ate some Mexican food with him.
Wednesday One of the people we used to teach recently passed away so we went to his funeral and the service was pretty good. It was kinda weird being in a different church but it was also kinda cool. Especially because it was a rock band church so they had some really cool songs about Jesus.

Tuesday we went and visited brother Sanchez just to see how he was doing and he ended up taking us to the boot barn where a bunch of there boots are 50% off right now. So I copped a pair and after I bought them my companion said the funniest thing to me "with those boots on nobody will know your from northern Utah" haha. Guess I'm a cowboy now haha.

Thursday night we had a really powerful lesson with josephine. We taught her about the power of the book of mormon and I even shared my testimony of the book of mormon which was fun to do haha.

Saturday we did lots and lots of service. The first service project we went and cleaned up trash out of the grossest house I've ever seen. There basement was flooded and so we cleaned up trash with water up to our ankles. The water also smelled like dog poop which wasn't very pleasant either. Later we painted a house and then we ended off service Saturday by burning some sticks.

Later that night we visited Mike and patty. Mike started chemo recently and it's not looking good for him. So keep him in your prayers please! The chemo has made his whole neck swell up and he can barely meet with us for 30 mins before he has to rest. So that kinda sucks but he still wants to get baptized!!

Sunday we had a cool lesson with a family from south Sudan. We taught them all about the restoration and talked a lot about baptism. All the kids want to be baptized but the mom doesn't speak good English so she's kind of on the fence about it but the cool thing is she is sisters with one of our inactive families so we are gonna try and see if we can get her to translate for her!!

That's all that happened this week. It was a super busy and hype week! Hope all of you are doing good. Feel free to email me!

Jacks New hair

Jack came home the other day with his head shaved and this new color.  I guess the football team did that and some girl going to beauty school (maybe) did the hair dye.  Something like that.  It doesn't look all that bad...Here we are at church.  He didn't know I took the pic.  He won't send me one and I keep forgetting to get one

It was going to snow this weekend so the Taurus needed to get some windshield wipers changed.  That left me to do the changing.  Jack (who I made go to the store with me)  and I went to Ace hardware and they didn't have the right size.  We looked online for the size.  We had to go to Costco.  Conveniently Costco had the size AND they were on rebate.  6.99 each.  Wow.  Great.  Of course we needed chicken wings and bananas and apples and stuff so our 6.99 windshield wipers turned into much more.  :)

But I couldn't figure out how to get the old off.  None of the videos were that great for that part.   I got out the garden clippers and cut the plastic off.  Then they went on like a charm.  Just like the videos said.  I amaze myself.  Although I'm sick of having to be the one in charge of all the cars for sure.

Went to my favorite sushi place.  Ginger sushi or something like that.  It was super great.  As usual.  Brooke was invited but she wanted to go somewhere with Grandma and McCall and Cooper.  Missed out.  I had a great date to the dinner too.

I ordered some more checks.  Like WHO uses checks.  I have to have them for the one or two times a year that I write them.  I sometimes write them to Costco before payday.  I only get like one day before they clear.  But sometimes thats all I need.  That is probably enough to last me the rest of my life.

This is my cousin sharon commenting on this post that has 93.5 K responses.  Makes me laugh because I drive a cadi.  I"m far from rich...

Eaglewood

My hair appt got cancelled on Tuesday so I was able to go play some golf.  Problem was that it was at Eaglewood.  Way not my favorite.  It has lots of hills and long holes.

Gotta have a drink to get me through the 9 holes

Those are my golf shoes.

I didn't play so well, but it was absolutely beautiful night. I played with my favorite golf peeps.   It was even a bit nippy before we ended at dark.  The shorter days are interferring with my golf game because we can't go after work much longer.  It is suppose to storm this weekend so I'm sad.  We wanted to go to Brigham City to play.

Love this pic too.

Nick's mission address.  He is rocking the mission

AND I'm going to plant this for grass next season.  My friend stopped me to say hi at the grocery store and she was buying this for her lawn.  Here's to hoping it works.

Week 10 Omaha, NE Mission

What up yall. I can't believe I've been on a mission for 10 weeks already!! This week was full of miracles! We also had exchanges this week which were super fun and of course had to end the week with some bball. center

Monday: PDAY. We went and played lots of basketball and then we went and chilled at the stake center and played some gator ball which is just basically football and soccer combined. After p day we went over to macrys house. Macry doesn't know how to ride a bike and he's leaving on his mission soon so we decided to teach him. After that we went over to Carlos house and read some of the book of mormon. He only likes to read in Spanish so I kinda struggle with it but I'm starting to learn more Spanish.

Tuesday: we had zone and district councils. My comp is the district leader so I just get to sit there and write all the numbers down. After that one of the youth brought us cookies and we decided to take them to our friend jaylens who's dog just passed away. So it worked out well. The cookies helped us go straight into the plan of salvation.

Wednesday: we met with brother burrows and talked about the plan of salvation. At brother burrows every question we answer of his he gives us a piece of chocolate so I love teaching him haha. Later that night we had bom study and it actually went really well!

Thursday: we went to catholic charities and handed out some food. Then we went out to sister deans and moved a bunch of garbage out of there back yard. After that we went and taught this family from south Sudan. They are really hard to teach because the mom only speaks noir. Mary understands English but can't speak it so that was a super hard lesson to teach.

Friday: we went and taught brother woods. Brother woods finished chemo last week and this week he is cancer free! Later that night something really cool happened. We were knocking random doors and met this family from south Sudan. They are already members they just didn't know where the church was. They also speak noir!! They also speak really good English and said they would help us teach Mary and her kids!! Such a hype miracle!!

Saturday: we did exchanges which are always super fun. The night before we all sleep at the same apartment and we may of accidently stayed up a little later than we were supposed too haha. Elder Ryan and me stayed in my zone. We found two new people and taught an inactive member. Later that night we went to bdubs and watched some good football another hype miracle!! After that we went and played basketball to end the week.

Sunday: all we really did was go to church and street contact a few people. We did teach Alex and Britney the restoration. Britney was hype because she has the same question that Joseph Smith had. I actually bore my testimony in the lesson and that was the first time I've done that in a lesson so that was cool.

That's really all that happened this week. It was kind of a slow week here in Bellevue. Feel free to reach out and email me. Love you lots

Morgan Football

The JV games were over for the season, but they scheduled another game at Morgan High School.  Grandma and I drove up for the game.

Absolutely beautiful for a football game.  Fall weather in Morgan was beautiful.  Smelled just like Farm.  Love it.

It was a good game, Jack was playing really well but they were losing.  Anyway, then, he went to tackle someone, and someone tackled him and he was hurt.  He was on the ground.

The coache and trainers went out to check him out, and I am not sure what to do.  I can't even figure out how to get on the field.  I'm sure they wanted their mother on the field, but I was just wondering how I would.
So I just sat there and watched.  Everyone is standing around, and Marlena is like 'oh I can't see 59, where is he?  "  Well, Marlena he is the one that is hurt on the ground.  OH I still can't see him she says.  Well that would be because he is surrounded by people...

He finally got up and came to the sidelines and he just sat there

I could tell by the way he was acting he didn't feel so great.

He didn't feel great to start with.  He had tylenol, cough medicine, sudafed, and ibuprofin before the game.

I could really tell he didn't feel good.

He took off his pads and put on his hoodie.  Then he walked around.

Then he was the water boy.  That is him in the red hoodie with the water bottles.
The guy in the red shirt was nice and helped Jack.  He was super nice.  I did talk to him after about it and he thought he prob had a concussion.

Anyway a few hours later after the team got back I got a call from my bud Cam.  He is the team trainer and he had assessed Jack.  I have talked to him like 10 times.  He said he assessed him and his scores were low (that is a good thing) but he was concerned because he said he didn't feel good.

He is out for practice for tomorrow and that gets him 5 days of time off because it is now Fall Break.

If I Could Turn Back Time...

Found this beauty.  That is the best I have ever looked.  That is my friend Lynne.  We were quite the hot items at the Church Dances and the Single ward.  And rocking life

You know, I look at this photo and think back to this time and I felt like I had life by the balls.   You feel like you are going places and doing things and so much self esteem and making goals and life was good.

We hiked the Narrows that summer which is a 16 mile hike and we were just living life. We were even playing some golf once in a while.

Then I think about life now, and I don't look like that, and I feel like I have been dragged by a pick up truck a million miles through rocks and mud and hail. . .  I do not have life under control nor do I have it by the balls and Nor would I hike the narrows again.  Although I would love to.

I was never going to be old and ornery and fat and divorced. If I ever got married I sure wasn't going to get divorced.  But you know, It has been a good drag by a pick up truck.  All in all, it has been a great life.  Even though I don't feel or look the same way.  It has been a good ride.

Abi and Brody make it one year

Abi and Brody celebrated being married one year on Oct 8.

They went to
Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard.

They are living their best life in Boston.

Week 9 Omaha, Nebraska

Week 9 Nicholas Clemons

What's up everyone hope all of you guys are doing amazing!! We had a really busy week out here in Bellevue. We found a lot of success at those apartments we found. This week elder Madsen who is part of the cottonwood area but lives with us got promoted and is now a zone leader which is insane. Elder Franklin replaced him so it's kind of been an adjusting period. Most of this week was finding new people but also alot of it was helping our member friends who are struggling and that's a big problem here in Bellevue.

Monday: because of transfers p day was moved back a day so this was just another regular day in the Mish. We taught this guy who thought that the Bible was perfect and that the book of mormon was wrong but if he thinks that he's kinda crazy because they talk of the same exact things. This guy also look like Santa so I don't how good his knowledge is though haha. Later we went to teach our friend Jordan. He Said it was a bad time but he was already half way into the biggest blunt I've ever seen so i understood.

Tuesday: P DAY!! We played lot and lots of basketball. I tried guarding my comp in one of the games and it didn't go so well. Stupid basketball players! Later we went boot shopping and I almost got a pair. I found out that we can prosalite out here in the winter in cowboy boots so they might be in my future haha. After that we went to chick FIL a and IT WAS BOMB.

Wednesday: brother Sanchez bought these queso tacos which were so bussin. We also moved someone out and taught this member lesson to a family. After the lesson they gave us like a giant bowl of candy so there kids wouldn't eat it all haha.

Thursday: we scheduled Wendy's baptism and planned to move her out. Sadly she's moving out of our zone so I don't get to add her to my celestial stats haha. We also met with our friend Neil. Neil blows stuff up in his garage and let us join him for a bit.

Friday: we helped out landlord take out a bunch of doors out of his apartment and later we taught the moudrys about perseverance during trials and I used a football analogy so I hope I got the point across haha.

Saturday: we went with some French missionaries to teach our friend koffi. It was an easy lesson for me. I just sat there and looked pretty while the French speakers talked. We also taught our friend John and he said that he would come to church but he doesn't really like organized religion.

Sunday: we had dinner with these member who made us some pretty good meatloaf (dont be jealous ty). After that we went to why I believe which is just basically testimony meeting for recent converts. We brought our friend Mike so that he could hear some people's stories about hardships. Mike loved it and even met our mission president. He told the mission president that we need a Tacoma so maybe one day I will get one.

That's really all that happened this week. We found 8 new people this week. So we're not just totally sacking it out here I guess.

I would love to hear from some of yall!! Go huskers!!

Love Clemdawg

And more HUD is leaving

I am on a quest to get rid of all this junk.  I have been on this quest for a long time, and I just keep getting more and more HUD.  During Conference I cleaned out some stuff.  Filled an entire garbage bag of just garbage.

That is a mask on the top.  Guess we don't need to mask up anymore so got rid of it

That is TWO full bags for the DI plus that picture thing in the box.  I have never used that.

More bags of HUD and clothes.  Mostly clothes that I haven't worn or more likely grown out of them.  They are outta here.

This is absolutely my favorite posts of me getting rid of stuff.  It is absolutely freeing.

I didn't color the items on my chart until the bags actually leave my house which they left today.  YAY.  I did take the them to Deseret Industries.  There were so many people waiting to donate that I wonder if it is even a good ideal to burden them with all our HUD.  Most of what people donate I'm sure isn't usable. Wonder if we should just skip the donation phase and just get rid of it. I guess we feel so much better about ourselves giving our old useless junk to the DI thinkink we are helping someone when in actuality it is just getting tossed and burdening them with so much HUD!

Going to the Planet during the conference inbetween sessions and decluttering..

I only have a few months to get rid of about 800 more things  I would love twice that much gone!
