Week 25! Drifting gone wrong

 

What's up guys. This week was really cold but we still somehow found 3 new people. 

 We did break our car again so sorry I'm spending so much of yalls tithing money. It was super snowy and we were turning down this road and then fast and furious drifted into the curb. That happened on Thursday and luckily we have another set of elders with us in this area so we chilled with them all week. Which was so much fun. 

 We also met with our friend Andrew this week. Andrew is so dope but he is 15 so he gets off topic soooo easily. We taught him a dope lesson and then he wanted to play ps5 with us. I won my second game of fortnite on the Mish and taught a lesson at the same time. 

 The last two days it has been super cold. Saturday the high was 2 degrees and yesterday the high was -1. 

 Thursday was zc which is always so much fun. It's always so much fun to get with other Missionaries and spend time with them. 

 Other than that the rest of the week consisted of knocking and being rejected or getting yelled at. People in the city are a a lot meaner than the suburbs.

Brooke's Favorite things

 

Our Favorite Niece McKenna had a baby, Theo.  Brooke got to see him  I haven't seem him yet because I don't want to spread all my Jr. High germs to him.  It is rampant about RSV.

And this is NOT brooke's favorite thing.  She got a cortisone shot from our favorite Dr. Tight Pants.  He is the podiatrist who did my ankle surgery.  It about caused her ot pass it.  But there is still a bruise after a few days.  

This is really Brooke's favorite.  That is Ty.  Her favorite.  Well, he is one of my favorites too.

Jack works at Cutler's

 

Jack got a job at Cutlers Sandwiches in Bountiful.  He works every Saturday.  I think it is a great way to spend a Saturday because it doesn't interfere with your stuff during the week.

Brooke and I decided to visit him.  Here he is rocking the hat.  I think he should have a hair net on

He really likes it when Grandma comes to visit him.  She comes through the drive-through window and at the ordering place says "Jack, is that you"?  His Friend Thoren pretends to be Jack because Jack was over making sandwiches..says "Hi Grandma Lewis.   Love you.".  So hilarious.  I don't even think Grandma knew it was Thoren.  

Favorite Things today

 

Michelle and I watch the morning news.  We LOVE Dan Spindle.  He is so hot and has these  super sexy skinny suits and is just so handsome.  AND he has the same birthday as I do.  Well, look today what I saw.  A pic of him in the gym.  LOVE some Dan spindle.  

Then I see  pic of these two. They are my favorites too. Look it is couples day on the sign overhead.  

Then someone I saw suggested these slickers at Costco.  Not sure if they are my favorite, but gotta check them out to see if they are my favorite.  Edit:  I did check them out and got a pair. They have zipper pockets which I'm all about.  I'm not sure if they are a favorite yet, but I'll have to wear them to see.

AND all these people are my favorite.  Love the Zoom calls we get on Monday with our Missionary.  He is rocking the mission.  Not sure who invented  missions, but it certainly was not a mother for sure.  But sure love him and these zoomers.

Weekend

 

We have had a catastrophe.  The slicks we buy at the Costco have changed. Brooke is modeling them.  They have two seams instead of just one.  I haven't noticed them being a problem.

This is my favorite because this ia Saturday morning.  LOOK at the top notification .  11 Min to Planet Fitness. Obviously I always go to Planet on Saturday.  AND according to Andrew's friend that always seems me there, it is true.

Love my new Garage door opener with a camera.  I can talk to people in the garage.  I said Hi to Jack and he jumped out of his skin he was so scared.  

AND Friday morning I left for work and look, the garbage can was out.  Jack took the garbage out to the curb.  Way to go.  

And my favorite chips. They help when I have no tums for some heartburn.

What's up yall!! Hope all of you guys have had a great week!! This week went by super fast and was very tiring. We had interviews with the mission president this week. We also have had a lot of lessons recently which is good but very tiring. Finding people here is really hard and its even harder to find people that actually want to commit to a second lesson. 

 Monday was so much fun because I played volleyball for like 5 hours and then we didn't have to go do any missionary work that night because we had a meeting with our branch president about how we can get all our inactives back to church. This area has the most members in it in the whole stake but is still a branch because none of those members are active. They made some fire food and then we had our meeting which took 4 hours but it got us out of walking around in the cold for a few hours so it was nice. I also decided to try and fade up one of the missionaries in my zone and it didn't go well. I realized I don't have the skills that Elder cook has and he had to go get it fixed by another missionary. 

 Also this week we got grounded two separate times because the weather dropped below -10 again so they decided it was too cold to go outside. so we spent 4 hours doing facebook work and calling people. Wednesday we got denied a lot but it was ok because one of our friends who works at the bucky's gas station that we go to gives us free drinks and we have slowly gotten to know her and have just talked about missionary work with her but wednesday we were able to talk to her about the church and our beliefs and she even gave us her number so we could send her the zoom link to church so that was lit. 

 Friday we had this really cool lesson with our friend quame. Quame is a seventh day adventist but he told us that he asked for a sign and he believes that we were that sign. We taught him the coolest restoration of my mission and he is just so cool. 

 Saturday was such a busy day. We had 12 lessons and it was so tiring but in the words of elder Hansen "nothing beats missionary work on 4 hours of sleep and a peachy keen monster". It was definitely worth it because almost all those people told us they would love to learn more. 

 That was basically my week and im just loving missionary work. Its so cool to see people change for the better and come closer to jesus christ. I gave a talk on sunday about how we can follow christ through simple ways. I spent all week on it and apparently when you don't write your talks the night before they end up doing pretty well haha. That is my Grandma Lewis in the green dress and Grandma Stella in the purple.  I think Michelle was baptized.  Fun fact, both of the grandma's have matching purses.  It was my favorite purse of my Grandma Stella.  It was cool beats and a cool closure.  We must have given them to them for Mother's day.

Meatloaf Sunday

 

Ty Loves a good Meatloaf.  We decided to celebrate Ty's promotion at work with a good Meatloaf.

Brooke came over and we decided that after church we would get ready for dinner, then nap, then cook and have it ready for when Ty got there. 

I only got a pic of Ty.  However it was his celebratory dinner so that is the only picture we needed

There is our quality dinner table.  Nothing but preparations and fanfare for us.  

I decided to nap early and Brooke made the cookies.  Jack came home, and went to sleep on the couch next to me and I didn't even hear him.  He has the bad couch (loveseat - way too small) and the bad blanket.  That afgan we got from Michelle from Marilyn - who wants an afgan seriously?  

I had the good couch AND the good blanket.  I was asleep first though...

This was my birthday present from Michelle.  Look how fabulous it is.  

After Brooke and I got back from doing some things Wonton had chewed up the box.   That is what I get since Brooke is a Zookeeper and gives him boxes for enrichment.  He didn't open the stuff just wanted the box.  Silly dog.  

Now here he is all cute in his vest taking Brooke for a walk.  

I hope Brooke has on her vest tht matches his.  Her St. John's Bark brand vest

Bull Ridin'

Brooke asked me if I wanted to go and watch Ty ride a mechanical Bull. Sure I do.  We got to the Golden spike Arena and it was a real live Bull.

It was rough Stock Practice.  Not sure what that is, but it was bull riding for who ever wanted to do it.  Ty was all in.  He didn't have a cowboy hat on, but was ready to go.  

He is in the chute waitng for his turn.  He is wearing a Black Carharrt shirt.

I don't have any pics of him on the bull because I guess Brooke didn't get any.  But he did it.  He lasted about  second before he was thrown off.  I am just glad he made it alive

AND here is a pic of where the bull stepped on him a few days later.  Dang that must have hurt.
