Windshield Wiper Mishap

It has been snowing like tons.  and even more than that.  I replaced my windshield wipers a few months ago.  They have been fabulous.  I get the michelin at Costco.  Anyway, I had stayed after work talking to my friend.  I got outside around 4:40.  Snowing.  Backc out, and my windshield wiper on the driver side, just flung off in the parking lot. I'm like what?   I stop and pick it up and can't figure out how to pit it back on.  It is super cold also.  So what do I do? There is tons of traffic being later, and snowing and I have NO windshield wiper.  I didn't have anyone to call.  I can't get Jack to drive me in the snow.

So I put on the best I could.  And decided I did have a snow brush in my car and I might just have to use it and reach out my window and wipe off the car.  I used it and it flew off again before I was out of the parking lot.  I picked it back up and put it back on so I might have two or three passes.

The snow slowed down and I managed to get home.  Not sure what I was thinking because now I was home without a windsheld wiper.....

I surveyed the situation and took the other one off to see how it worked.  Watched an unhelpful video about replacing wiper blades.  I noticed that the storm had stopped and it was sunny.  I decided to go to Costco (about 15 min ) away to get another blade.  I jump in the car and hurry and stress.  Got to Costco and bought another one.  Got to the car and replaced it before I left.

Works like a charm now.

This is hte part that attaches to my car. I didn't know which part wasn't working, the car part or the blade part.  I decided I thought this part was ok.

This is the blade part and that part broken off isn't suppose to be broken off.

This was such a weird thing. I have never had that happen and what do you do if you are driving on the freeway or somewhere besides your work parking lot.  I was glad to get out of it for 10.00 and no accidents.  I did end up missing Yoga,,Ugh.

Flash to the past

Michelle occasionally sends me pics from the past. She must be decluttering and sorting.

Andrew doing some serious slip and sliding.  I love this pic because he ins't wearing a swimsuit so it means that it was a spur of the moment slip and slide event.  Which everyone loves. Who doesn't want a last minute slip and slide.  He looks like he doesn't want to break his glasses he is being so careful

LOVE this of Nick.  This is totaly Nick's personality...and He is wearing a Grillin and Chillin shirt we got from Maverick.  Not sure how we got them but we had like 5.  I think we got them at hockey.  But wouldn't we love a grillin and chillin shirt again.

Awe look at that nick.

This one is jack.  He is being so brave actually.  Jack also doesn't have a swimsuit on.  Last minute...He muts have been going so slow because he is the scared type and didn't try things that were super scarry.

Love my grown up kids but stil get a bit nostalgic at how young they were and all the chaos and all the worry and the stress.  Wouldn't change it for anything.

Week 28 - Nick's Weekly Email

What's good everyone. Hope everyone had a good week this week!! This week was kinda mid and it got bad when this member fed us cold lasagna with 1 lb of cheese on it but it only made me throw up twice so I guess it could be worse haha.

Monday: was super fun. We played basketball for 4 hours and then it got even better when my comp found out he had a leadership call which basically meant all day p day for me. So I just chilled and read some scriptures while he got trained on how to be a district leader.

Tuesday: we just knocked doors all day and all our lessons canceled. We did have a pretty fire district council about setting goals.

Wednesday: we went on exchanges and I got to go with elder murdock. Elder murdock is about to go home and so this was his last exchange so we just talked about life the whole day and he's like super into football so we talked alot about that and man I know nothing compared to this elder. Nothing happened missionary wise except ppl just yelling at us but I had alot of fun!

Thursday: was really eventful this is the day we got poisoned by the members uncooked lasagna but we were able to teach a really good lesson to our friend Guadalupe. She doesn't like reading so we've so far only been teaching her with book of mormon videos which is kinda cool. Later that night we found our friend bo who is sooo elect!! We talked a lot about trials with him and how God uses these trials to refine us.

Friday:  we had interviews with our mission president which is always super fun to see him. Then the rest of the day was filled with lots of door knocking.

Saturday: we had this cool lesson with one of our inactive members. She wanted to learn about this guy named John tanner. Apparently he like saved the church when it was about to go bankrupt but he just started paying the churches debt and he even was called on a mission and didn't say anything to the church about the money they owed him. It really got me thinking about how much more I need to sacrifice so that the spirit is always with me.

Sunday: nobody came to church but that's alright because later that night we put our boy Andrew back on date for the 18th and met a new friend named Alexis. Alexis told us this dope story about how he told God he would go to church if he got his dream truck and he bought his dream truck yesterday so I guess God does answer prayers ahaha.

Hope all yall are doing good!! Reach out if you want and I will try and reply. Remember God loves you and so do I!!!

Snow Storm

All this hype on the news for the worstest snow storm ever was coming Tuesday night.  And it didn't disappoint. It was tons.  School was delayed 2 hours and Jack stayed home because I don't like him to drive in the snow and get in the parking lot at the High School.  Jack and I shoveled at least 10 inches off our driveway.  I think it was more becaue it looked like snow had drifted.  The snow didn't end.  It was all up on the garage and blew on the front door.  It was absolutely crazy.

Brooke was nice and warm in her Carharrt jacket that is from Yellowstone.  She is holding on like Grandpa did when he would drive with you.

B and Lola went outside and about died because the snow was so deep. Michelle's house said on the news that they had soo much more like two feet.  Marti measured 14 inches.  Thats a lot of snow in one storm.

My Wonton is covered almost to his head in the snow.  I Hope he survived and got warm.  He does love a good snowstorm.  They also got as much snow as michelle did.

On a much brighter note than snow, look at this great golf outfit from Scheels.  I'm headed back to mesquite at the end of March. I need to up my wardrobe for the trip. Brooke sent me this shirt to match my skirt I got at the Costco.

Brooke wnated this duster thing at the Scheels.  It is just like McKenna's she wore to Bear Lake.  We are not going to Bear Lake this year so we don't  need a duster like McKenna.

I think everyone needs a duster.

Transfers!!

What's up yall!! Hope everyone had a great week!! This week was pretty crazy. We had transfers and our friend Andrew is getting closer and closer to baptism.

Transfers were Wednesday so we drove up to the mission office and I said bye to elder ward and picked up my new companion elder Dennis. He's sooo chill. Hes spent his whole mission in South Dakota so this is his first time in the big city and we have our work cut out for us. This transfer our goal is too bring back 5 inactive families back to the branch and finally turn the branch into a stable ward. It's gonna be super hard work but I know that if we have faith and work hard we can for sure do it.

We were able to get Andrew to church this week and it was a miracle. His phone died during the night so none of this alarms went off and so we went to go knock on his door and nobody came to answer so we walked back out front to the house and I was seriously contemplating just throwing a snowball at his window but then elder Dennis looked through the window and saw his grandma walk through a hallway so we ran back to the door and knocked on the door and asked her if Andrew could come to church. Andrew then woke and got ready just in time for his ride. It was sooo cool to see heavenly father bless Andrew like that!!!

We took him to why I believe that night again and his girl friend decided to tag along with us. It was such a good testimony meeting and on the car ride back we were able to put his girlfriend on date to be baptized which is soooo fire.

We also met with thus fire member family. They fed us fake Cafe Rio and it was BOMB but it also made me super homesick!!!

That's all that happened this week. It snowed more this week but it's slowly starting to get warmer which means more ppl are outside to talk too!!! Hope yall had a fire week!!! Love yall!!!

Golf Mesquite The Palms

I played some golf the second day at The Palms. This course was in Arizona actually.  It was difficult also but different difficult.

We had to hit to the top of this hill

You can see that they are only watering some parts of the course.  The sides of the fairway are dead grass. I'm assuming it is not dirt because dirt blows around and erodes. If you are in the sidelines, the dead grass is kindof difficult to hit out of.

This was off the deck of the clubhouse.  Absolutely beautiful.

My cart partner...

Went through a lot of balls on this trip. My kids gave me these balls for Christmas.  Love them.

The back 9 was difficult and up and down and over ravines and over gullys.  We were on the top, then the next hole we had to hit to the bottom.  I did it though.  I did great.  I was tired but rocked it.

I appreciate Brooke watching Jack while I was gone.  She said he got home on time, but I don't think that is true.  They didn't get to church which I believe.

They went to Grandma's house on Sunday and had KFC and Cafe Rio.

Jack living his best life at Grandma house.  He is in the chair and has the dog.

AND my favorite part...Maverick in Arizona.  We found this on our way out of town.  Should have gone there BEFORE all the golf.  Makes me feel like home.  :)

Golf Mesquite Casa Blanca Course

Went for some Golf in Mesquite, NV this weekend.  They had a Great Stay and Play at the Casa Blanca.

We got there on friday and golfed on Saturday at the Casa Blanca Golf course.

Getting ready off the first Tee.  Thats our friend Frank and Tom ahead of us.

Kent and Tom

Tom is cool becaues he is like 80 and plays golf and left golf to take a hike somewhere.  He would have walked the course but they don't allow walkers because it is so far and it would slow the play.

It was absolutely a Beautiful course and a beautiful day.  It was about 6o degrees.  We needed a jacket when we started but not when we finished.

I had a great round.  Only lost 3 balls.  It was the hardest course I have ever played but I rocked it.  What a greatd day.

Then we had dinner andd I had some chinese food and watched the golf on TV.

Superbowl Sunday

We decided to have a superbowl party at Marlena's house.  Everyone just bring something.  Thats the best parties ever.

These are the only pictures I took.  I didn't take any of the food or anyone that wasn't sitting right there at the moment.  It was a good party and a good game between Kansas City and Philadelphia.  I wanted Kansas City but really didn't care.  I'm more of a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Just glad people come.  Everyone came that lives in the state of Utah.  We were only missing, Andrew, Abi, and Nick.  All of them live in other states.  Probably next year
Andrew will be there.  All of Michelle's people were there.  Mark's family didn't come at all because they were in Arizona.

Jack decided to have some friends over and move these mattresses in the family room.  He has now decided that he likes them because there is a big TV and it isn't so cold with the fireplace on.  I think he should put them back in the bedroom.

This pic is kindof yuck.  I think everyone needs a shirt on. . .
