A Clean Drain

After my faucet success, I decided to tackle the drain in the shower. I have noticed that it isn't draining very well.  I'm in standing water while in there.  I am a boss at unclogging a sink

This is my favorite tool.  It is something like this.  And it costs like 3.50.

The problem with the Shower is that it has the drain that is screwed into the shower.  I can unscrew it but I wondered how hard it would be after all these years.  But I watched a video about how to do it so I didn't strip the screws.  I sprayed them with Lime Away first to get rid of the hard water if there was any.

THEN took off the cover without a problem!

This is what I pulled out

SERIOUSLY all that came out with ONE try.  No wonder the shower didn't drain.  I have never cleaned it out so it was at LEAST 15 years of yuck.

So satisfying and so embarassing too.

Here's Wonton in his shower :)

Here's his enrichment I saved for him.  Mostly empty bags of cheese he can tear the bag and get the rest of the cheese to eat.  He discovered this himself a few weeks ago when he grabbed it from the counter and ate it. I'll make it easier for him now and won't make him get it from the counter.

Dog A Poolooza

Wonton got to go to the Rec Center in Bountiful and swim.  It was called Dogapoolooza.  I think it was the last weekend the outdoor poor is open.  I was suppose to go and I forgot all about it and went to the Planet.  No wonder Wonton hates me.

After the Dog swimming that Andrew remembered to go we went to Mick Riley and played on the Par 3.  It was a great course and I thought it was difficult.  If I went to the white Tees, it was just like a regular course for me.

"Just gotta vibe and spread the gospel" - Nick's letter from Omaha

What's up everyone! Hope you all had a great week! BYU lost but I still had a Supa fire week out here in the great state of Nebraska

Monday: snagged some canes and then did our usual p day stuff. Now that elder Christensen is home from his mission I have become top dawg in tip in. We play like 15 games every p day and I won 10 of them so yeahhh I'm pretty great.(tip is just a basketball shooting game)

Tuesday: we had district council and elder Olivares got transferred into our district and he's so chill. We just made jokes the entire time and it's just so much fun to have someone to relate to now. Then we had game night and our now recent convert makenzy came and guess what I won all the games of lagretto. Still #1 baby 💪

Wednesday: we did some service for our guy Kerry. I dug a few posts out of the ground for him. We've done so much service for this dude it's basically slave labor but hey he feeds us some nice burgers. After that we did some more service for our guy jeremy and then we taught him after and had a member there to help us.

Thursday: was a lot of rejection but we did have a really good lesson with Ethan. He's still considering baptism but it's not looking too good right now.

Friday: we were just driving and saw this homie named Marcos and asked him if he would like to learn about Jesus and he said yes. We then learned he was a ex Jehovas witness but he still listened and he is just the Nicest guy ever and is so cool. Then we talked to this girl named Jada and she plays basketball for the college in the town we were in so her and I talked about basketball for like 30 mins then we taught about the book of mormon for a lil bit

Saturday: we met with our guy Marcos again and brought a member with us. We read a little bit with Marcos and he said that he felt really good about what we've talked to him about. So we invited him to be baptized and he said he was gonna think about it so plz pray for him. Night didn't end so well the transmission on our car broke on the highway so we had to cruise home going 5 mph

Sunday: baller Sunday our recent convert Denise brought 3 ppl to church and one of them we were able to share a message with. Then it was one of our members birthday so we had a Fiesta after church and his wife brought homemade tamales and tres leches cake. They were sooo bomb!! Then we walked around the rest of the day and ended the night with a nice lesson with our guy Dustin. Dusting and I are basically the same person. We talked about river masters and he updated me on the football scores. He's progressing really well and is still thinking about baptism.

That was my week! Feel free to reach out! Love yall and hope you guys know that God has a plan for each and every one of you so don't give up and have faith!!!

Leaf Hunt 2023

The Annual Lewis Family Leaf Hunt is now in the books.  We have decided the week before General Conference is the date.  Anyway, I had to go get the spot.  It was a total pain.  I couldn't decide where and walked and drove around and moved my car a million times looking.  I was sweating and driving down to get cell service so people would know where to go.  There is no cell service at Mueller Park Canyon.

Roasting Hot dogs were on the menu.  We thought we would be original. I was assigned the hot dogs Seriously I have no idea what people will eat. So I always bring a million.  I think I took home about 4 pkgs.

Blake and Mitchell

Honey Ty sporting his freedom shirt and his Fenway Park Hat from Boston.

The dude in the blue shirt asked if he could use our fire because he came to the canyon with his kids and didn't have firewood.  They stayed and had hot dogs with us and potato salad and cookies.  I am certain it was his visitation weekend and he just didn't know how to picnic.  :)

Look at those submissions for the leaves.  Michelle and I collected leaves together.  Funny she was the judge, and she got the gift card to McDonalds.

These people were trying to get the kids to smile.

Such a great time.  I was so tired after.  You wouldn't think that walking around the canyon and roasting some hot dogs, cleaning up , and leaf hunting would make me tired.  But it did.  It was fun to make memories.  We missed Andrew and all of Mark's family.  Some of them were out of town and others live out of town and Stella was working.  Not sure why Mark didn't show but we missed them.

A Faucet Repair

So my faucet has been leaking in my bathroom for quite a long time.  I hate to call a plumber, because well, I have to be here and talk to them, and pay them and clean for them...Although I love my plumber,,,

Turn off the water first.  You know if you make a video don't say oh turn off the water.  Show me how to turn it off,  Anyway I figured it out.

I watched a Youtube video (of course) and he had a link to a part  I ordered the part and it sat.  That was in June.  Finally, now that it is September, I fixed it.  I watched about a million videos.  Everyone tells you a little different parts.  I needed a 3/32 allen wrench and I found that in my tools.  I think I bought it at Dollar Tree long ago.  I was on my way to Home Depot to get one and I realized I just might have one somewhere else.  And I did :)

Got the faucet off. Took out the cartidge, took out the spring and rubber thing.  Kept it seperate from the new parts.  (that was a hint from one of the videos..)

Watched youtube again.  Replaced rubber thing and screw from the kit I bought.

Replaced cartridge, and screwed the handle back on.  oh and turned the water back on.  AND it worked with NO leaks!

This sound like it was 15 minutes.  NOPE.  it took about 5 hours with the trip to Home Depot. I thought I had the wrong Cartridge.  So I drove to Home Depot and while looking for the right part, I realized I just needed to turn this plastic part and it was the right thing   So that trip was useful beause I figured it out but didn't need to buy anything.  :)

I did buy two more umbrellas beause brooke and Andrew broke mine..

Always take a picture.  No one suggested it but I thought it was a good idea

The hard water is not gone nor cleaned off.   I started but it is going to be a job.  Lime Away isn't cutting it with the hard water.  I need to replace the water softner but it is not in the budget right now.

That is why there is no after pic.

I did get a donut on the way home from the trip to Home Depot that wasn't necessary!  My reward for a job well done.

Feels so good to figure it out.

Makenzy got baptised!!! - Nick's Email fron Omaha

Yo what's up guys. Hope you had a super good week. This week felt so long but it was worth it in the end!

Monday: we did our usual p day stuff. Basketball and then lots of gator ball. My jump shot is so clean now. Watch out 👀

Tuesday: we had zone conference and Elder Jimenez of the seventy did his mission tour and came and talked to us and dang it was so awesome. He was so funny and genuine. He told us a lot of great stuff on how we can better convert our friend to the gospel after us and the boys went and snagged some burgers which were so bomb

Wednesday: somehow all the service we had lineup just happened to fall on this day so we did 7 hours of service just on this day. It was wild but actually so much fun. I love serving my fellow man. We also helped someone on a farm and it was super cool to be a rancher for a few hours ahaha

Thursday: did some more service for a member but this time I got to go to the dump! After sadly we found put one of our friends who was preparing to be baptised got sent to the hospital so plz pray for Daniel he needs all the help he can get

Friday: we just really walked around and talked. Someone did call the cops on us because they said we were being too pushy but the cops came and they were so chill and just talked to us for like 15 mins about home and then left.

Saturday: we got up and had to head down to grand island to fill the font for makenzy's baptism. The baptism service was so fire and the spirit was there. After makenzy told us she had never been so happy in her life. AHHHH THE GOSPEL IS SO GREAT

Sunday: we had church and we got to confirm makenzy. During the confirmation makenzy started crying and the spirit just filled the room entirely it was so great. Makenzy is a living testimony that God does prepare people for the missionaries to teach. It only took her 3 weeks from the time we first met her to her baptism. She read the entire book of mormon in that time as well

That was my week. Mainly the coolest thing was the baptism. Makenzy's baptism was so great and probably one of the best baptisms I've ever been apart of! Feel free to reach out. Remember God is good and so is canes! Love yall

Rose park Again and HUD gone!

Rose Park and getting rid of HUD are my favorite things.

I keep posting about Golf.  If we did anything else beside golf, I could post about that!  But I want everyone in my posterty to know that we had fun at least doing the same thing.

Jack is hitting the ball.  No foxes this time on the course today

Andrew's turn

Not sure waht this is but it was in my photos :)

Empty Cart because....

Andrew had to use the bathroom.  He pees more than any person I know including myself  :)

Felt like my dad.  I got a Salted Nut Roll because I was not feeling so great.  That is a dad candy for sure.  It was good though

Andrew and I cleaned out the shed and some of the back yard. We made two trips to the dump and a trip to the DI.   Conveniently grandma lives in Bountiful so we can use her Power bill to get in the Dump by our house.  Otherwise we would have to drive 30 minutes away.  And it was only 5.00.

I like that the bikes we took went to the metal recycling and the TV goes in Electronic stuff.  We even dropped some off at the Green waste.

We didn't have to go up to the Landfill.

I got to cross off some more boxes for my get rid of 2023 things in 2023. I am not even half way. But doing my best. Love to get rid of HUD.

Pre dump planet visit.  I would say workout but not sure it was classified as that.

I did see Andrew's friend that said he always sees me at the gym  Yep he always does.

2001

My cousin sent me these pics.  Look how cute.  So young and so little.

Gotta Love McKenna.  Those were good times.  And the cute matching outfits.  Sometimes I wish they were still young and cute.  And other times I  like where we are now because it has been super fun to watch all of them grow up and rock their lives.

Then here's McKenna's baby.  He isn't such a baby anymore.I think Theo is like 9 months old now.

I think he looks like he is wearing a Wig.  :)
