Golf Simulator

Over the Thanksgiving break we went to the Golf Simulator, called the PIG.  Andrew decided to sign up and use it with his extra time he has lately.

I think I ended with 21 over par.  Not my best round but it did take me 8 strokes to get out of the sand on one hole.  Lily came also but I didn't get a pic of her.  She was even better than I was.

Surprise from Omaha

I got a text on my phone from an unknown number. This is what I found on the phone.

YAY.  Love a pic of my favorite missionary.  Missing him so much.  That is his favorite companion that was home schooled.

Can't wait for him to be home and get some hugging in.

Thanksgiving 2023

Started the Thanksgiving day in the right manner...headed to the Planet.  I act like I'm such an athlete with all my planet posts.  But I did go today.

Worked on the puzzle for a while. It is coming right along.  McCall wants to borrow the Costco puzzle so I'll have to get her that one since she let me borrow this one.

Here's the Thanksgiving spread.  We headed to Grandma Lewis' house and had a buffet style dinner.  We had something different and had Turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes and it looks like a lot of vegetable dip.  It was super great food.

Then the festivities began.

BINGO  I was sharing the TV tray with Marti

This is Brooke handing out the cheerios for markers for the cards to Jack who is next to me.

Jack is intent on his phone...not so much on the game

Stella , Luke, Andrew and McCall's arm

Paula, Michelle, Luke and Mitchell

The prizes

Andrew on the floor.  We ran out of space

Everyone got a great prize from the Bingo. A few got gift cards to Mcdonalds and Maverick.  Great game and everyone had fun.  Well, I think they did.  They keep coming back each year so it must not be that bad.

We missed our Nick who is serving a mission, and Abi who is in Boston in School.

Here's what Abi did for Thanksgiving.  Panda Express.  The best

And a movie for Abi

We talked to Nick later on in the night.  I can't remember what he did for Thanksgiving but I think he went to the Stake President's house.  I don't think they played bingo.

Another Great Thanksgiving holiday.  Love some Thanksgiving hoilday because so much less is expected than Christmas.  Show up, Eat, Bingo, Football, talking.  Love it.

Missing my Nick

I was looking for some pictures today and came across these of Nick.  Makes me miss him so much.  I can't believe he will be home in about 9 months.  That is like a whole school year however.  We will have had Christmas, Easter, lax season, and the entire summer.

Wow some of these pictures I haven't seen for a long long time.

Happy 57

Another year has come and gone.  And I'm still alive and kicking.  It is hard to belive I have been around for 57 years.  I look at people and think oh they are so old and they are YOUNGER than I am.

Started the day out at the Planet.  Just like a everyday...:)

Michelle called and we went to a birthday breakfast at the Del Taco.  Marlena also came.  We were first going to Kneaders but the parking lot was too crowded.  There was no school today so I'm sure eveyrone was there due to the school holiday.

I didn't get any pictures of this.

Then Brooke showed up with Flowers and a Maverick Gift card.

The flowers are beautiful and from Trader Joes.  They have the best flowers.  They smelled so good!

We went to the Golf Simulator.

We were all showing our golf skills off.  I ended up like 20 over

Then we decided to go to the Zoo.  It was 5.00 during the day for the month of November.  Of course we needed to go.  I didn't get any pics of this, but it was totally crowded and crowded with people that never go anywhere.  Kindof like trailer trash Sunday as Ty describes the crowds on Sunday.

I don't think many of these people ever get out because they were just so rude and all over the place.  However it was soo fun to walk around and be outside and with Brooke and Andrew.  Jack had to work.  It was super sad because for the first time in my entire life I didn't get to see the elephants.  They have shipped them off to their new home in Kansas City.  So their enclosure just sat vacant with a tractor in it because they are renovating it for some horses and goats...

Then we decided to pick up Ty from the jail (where he works) and Andrew picked up Lily and go to Dinner at the Golden Ginger in Syracuse.  It is soo fabulous and in a renovated (well, renovated is a stretch) Maverik.  I was hooked on the place just knowing that.

So much fun and such good Food.

Michelle gave me this spatula.  It is a high heat one from the BBQ store.  Love those

And the RS dropped this off

Then I'm resting at home at about 9:45 and my friend Janel calls.  She never calls so I figured she must be in trouble and needs some help.  Nope, she and her husband, Taco, sang Happy Birthday to me.  Wow soo awesome and fun.  THEN Taco asks me if I had my evening Coke.  Well, yes I just got back from Maverik, but I said 'Nope I sure haven't".  So Taco and Janel picked me up and took me to get a Coke from the Holiday.  (closer) and we drive around and looked at these huge houses in West Bountiful for a bit.  So totally sporty of them.

Abi posted this ...:)

So another year has come and gone, and my birthday was great.  Love these peeps of mine.

Jack is Samuel in Primary

Here I am waiting to lead the singing in Sacrament meeting.  Yep I'm still in this calling.  Love it.  Although today was not my favorite hymns on the docket.

What a stupid grin

Here's Jack in action.  I like it when he comes to church because then I don't have to sit alone or figure out what to do when I'm finished leading.  If he doesn't come then I usually sit on the stand.  But today was the ward choir and I don't sing in the choir.  So I got to sit by him on the bench after he did the sacrament.  Fun fact, according to Jack, says he is the only one the Bishop ever makes repeat the sacrament prayer.  The rest of the kids are on the spectrum so he doesn't like to have them do it.  I will have to notice if that is true.  . . .)

Then in Primary Jack decided to come with me.  Well, he wanted to get some lunch with my credit card and I told him he had to come to Primary with me.  (he won't go to class ).  He was asked to be Samuel the Lamanite and he had to stand on that table.  The kids got to throw marshmallows at him like they were arrows as we sang this song about Samuel.  It was fun and he was a good sport.   He actually stayed to do that.  And yes, he finally got his lunch for staying...:)

On the way home from him getting his lunch, I asked him to stop at the store for sugar.  I was making cookies for the first time in like a year.  Anyway then we needed horseradish for our roast we were having for dinner. It has been a while since we had roast too.

I walked him through where horseradish is and he was standing by the ketchup and bbq sauce.  I told him to move down the isle.  He says well, I see Tar Tar sauce.  (like what is that?)  But that isn't want we needed.  oh he found it he said.  There is Beaver (which is the one we wanted) and it was like a 5 minute ordeal.  Well he declares he found it and it was this.  Horseradish mustard.  I didn't have the heart to tell him that wasn't the right thing.

I ended up going back to get it.  I realized Tar Tar sauce was Tarter sauce...:)

This is the roast we were having.  It was super great.  Too bad no one ate it but me.
