Jack in Cedar, Disneyland and Mission Submission

Jack has been living his best life in Cedar City.  He went over the weekend to Disneyland with some girls.  They stopped in Bakersfield, CA and then proceeded to Disneyland.

He said the ride home was short...well, he slept most of the time.

On another note, Jack has been getting ready to go on a mission.  We needed a hematocrit number for blood to submit on his papers.  I called the doc and Jack didn't get his blood drawn when he had his appointment for his mission visit.  Seriously.  Well, now he is in Cedar City which is 3.5 hours away.

I brainstormed and told him to go to the Student Health Center.  He did that, and they drew his blood and got his Hemoglobin number that he needed for his papers.  That was way easier than driving up to Bountiful for a blood draw.

AND with that,

He got this text from his Bishop.

PAPERS are now submitted!

Yay now we wait.  Is it, Utah, Idaho, Las Vegas, or pahrump, NV?

Abi and Brody are off to Arizona

Abi has been looking for a job.  She interviewed and got a job in Arizona for Banner Health.  She was one of 30 applicants and they choose her!  Of course they did.

I am SUPER sad and super excited for them to move to Arizona and for Abi to start her career.  They have been super nice to her and she's excited.

We had one last dinner at the Golden Ginger.  WE LOVE that.  Only 6 of us could go.  Andrew as in St. George and Jack was in Cedar. It didn't disappoint.  Ever.

Abi and Brody left on Sunday and headed to St. George to stay with his parents.  Andrew and Lili were in St. George playing golf so they met up for dinner at the Texas Roadhouse.  (I thought the pic looked like Buffalo Wild Wings)

headed out of Utah

This is their new Apartment.  It looks so great.

Here's to a new Chapter.  You rock Abi.

I will miss you both.

Pioneer Theater Company

We have been going to Pioneer Memorial Theater for a LONG LONG time.  We went when I was young.  My parents had 4 tickets so two of the kids would go each time.   Then they stopped the two extra tickets as we got older and and it was just the two of them.  I would go when my dad didn't want to go. Usually each season, there would be a Shakespeare play (or something similar) that he didn't want to go so I would go instead.

Then when my dad died, I started taking Marlena in his place.  We have been going since he died 6 or 7 years ago.  We went last night and Saw Dial M for Murder.  Here we are.  Marlena hasn't had her hair done so it doesn't look good to her.  It looks the same to me.  Look at my hair.

It is mostly good.  Some times it is a bit scholarly or just weird.  Sometimes they yell or have an accent that is hard to follow.  The musicals are fantastic.
Here are a few of our shows this year.

They have also been giving a free ticket to each season ticket subscriber, so Michelle usually chooses what show she wants to go with us.

It is a great theater.  The seats have lots of leg room but the seats themselves seem to get smaller and smaller every year.

Abi got to come with us last time because she was living with me so we got an extra ticket.

Forks, Washington

Saturday Night Jim invited us to go to see the Twilight Saga at the Movie Theater.  Twilight is old.  I have never seen it but they are playing them in the movie theaters for 5.00 and you can either watch them ALL day or go to one each week.  I opted to see them one each week.  Jim, Abi and I headed to Megaplex.

Jim brought her popcorn tub, that I got at a teacher class expired in 2024.  However, since they didn't have any new tags, we got a refill for the 2024 price.  3.99.  You bet I can afford that.

Twilight was good. It was fun to finally know what all the hype is about.  And know who Team Jacob or Team Edward are.

Can't wait for the second one.  :)

SUU vs Utah Tech

Abi, Nick, and I headed to Cedar City to watch Jack and his LAX skills for SUU against Utah Tech, formerly Dixie State.

Jack came to our hotel and showed us his new player pack, drip.

Before the Game, we headed to a movie because it was super cold out and we didn't have to be to the game until 6:00.  We saw Mufasa.  It was good, and I only got a pic of Jack and Me.  Abi and Nick were also there.  Popcorn is good too.  As usual.

We stayed at La Quinta in room 426.  Pic in case we got liqured up and forgot our room number.  Such a good thing to do.

This is the Kid that Jack trucked.  I think Jack got a penalty in the box for this.  He should have had taunting or some other one for standing over him.  Maybe Taunting is for football...:)

He is #7, same as High School.

Game was super cold.  It was about 5 degrees but felt like negative 2.  Seriously.  We had on 4 layers on the top, 3 on the bottom and a coat and THREE blankets.  Even the one from Kayley Simon.  I was pretty ok, except for my feet.  We made it through.

Had to get some new socks so my ankles weren't cold.  I should have worn two pair of socks.  These socks didn't keep my feet warm.  I had to buy what was at the TJ maxx.

Abi and I are freezing.   She was a sport to sit with me and freeze.  Nick was sitting by some people he knew on his mission that go to Cedar.

And there was a C on the mountain for Choji.  :)

Jack did get a hit and fell and hurt his head.  He now has a concussion (probably not according to him) but his head hurt for a while and he is sitting out of practice.

Hotworx for the win

I have been going to the Hotworx.  Michelle and Brooke love it so I decided to try it.  I liked it.   Well, I mean however much you can like exercise and sweating.  You work out in an infared sauna that gets up to 125 degrees.  It is hot.

Look how sweaty I am

I have only done the Pilates, or stretch or yoga.  I need to venture out and try the cycling.

I like going because I am by myself.  Even if I'm not feeling it, I can lay there in the heat and just rest and settle my mind as the instructor says.

They are opening one near my house so I'll probably change to go to that one.

Here's the warning on the monitor before we start.  I better get some electrolyte and amino powder to stay hydrated.

This is also me at the Hotworx.  I like to book two sessions and just enjoy the heat and quiet and just lay there for the second session.

My favorite part, is they have this spread in the bathroom.  Hair ties that are orange so if you forget yours, they have some.

I have a few.  Michelle is so jealous because her hotworx doesn't have them.
