Fire week as a missionary - Jacks email from Alaska

Hello family and friends another week down as a missionary and this week so good let me tell ya. Witnessed a lot of miracles this week as we went finding and overall it was just such a great week and I loved it.

Highlights:
Berges came to church!
Met a dude named Tony who talked to us first!
My new comp is so fire and is way smarter then he thinks he is!

Wednesday 7/23: chaotic day today was In a trio and we were covering 4 areas between 3 people so we really didn't know what to do and how to do it efficiently. But we had 2 dinners that night so it was fire.

Thursday 7/24: we helped a guy build a shed he's gonna live in for winter which is lowkey insane for how Cold it gets here but If there's one thing I've learned it's that Alaskan people are crazy with the way that they live.

Friday 7/25: with the area we just got combined in we cover a military base so we went and got passes so we are able to get on the base today. We stopped by one of our potentials Mary Ann and had a lesson with her so that was pretty fire.

Saturday 7/26: we were doing stop bys and as we were walking back down the driveway some dude pulls up and has a conversation with us and tells us he wants to go to church and doesn't believe that the church he goes to has the spirit. So we invited him to church and asked if we could meet with him during the week. Sadly he didn't show up but oh well.

Sunday 7/27: we had 4 hours of church today which was brutal and felt very long. We then had our boy Jackson get ordained for the aaronic priesthood so that was fire. Then had a lesson with Jake who's a referral from Minnesota and he is a very cool guy and is so elect it's amazing. Dinner with the cliffords was amazing.

Monday 7/28: basically just a day full of meetings and planning so just typical. We are starting to teach this inactive family who wants there kid baptized and they came back to church this week so it was so cool to see that. But there family is so awesome and very nice people.

But that was it for the week the work is picking up here in North Pole and I am enjoying it. Feel free to email me back and I love talking to all of you every week!

Golf with Mark and Andrew at Rose Park

Mark plays golf every Friday with his BFFs.  When one of them can't come, Andrew sometimes fills in.  Well, it was 24th of July weekend and it was Andrew and Mark.  They asked me to come along.       I was flattered.  Sure I can come.  I Love the Rose Park and I haven't played it much this summer.  ANd I wanted to play with Mark.  I have never done that.

Andrew looking for his ball

Mark and Andrew walked.  Andrew has two nice push carts with stools so they can sit.

I decided to ride.  I haven't walked much and it was hot.  And I walk slow.  I got to cart alone.  Love that

We played a pretty good game.  It was super fun to play with them both.  Mark said he would play with me anytime.  Great time was had by all.  I hope Jerry can't go next week.  .  .

CinnaBron and Hubbard

This is Nick's new shirt.  Cinnabron.  He got it from Temu.  Who searches up a Cinnabron shirt on the Temu app.

Played some golf at the Hill Air Force Base.  Hubbard golf course is so fabulous.  Our friend, Ted got us on because he is retired Military and can take 4 people on to golf.

Here's Ted, and that is his ball up on the Blue Spruce tree.  He hit his tee shot on the tree.  Who can do that?  I think he had to play it where it lies and take a penalty stroke.

Closeup of the ball.  No one could have tried to do that.

Here I am, enjoying the hubbard.  It was a beautiful day, with great weather and great golf course.  The course has NO leaves on it, and is in great shape. I'm sure those cadets have to go out and clean the course of leaves and debris.

Kent making his shot

Ted again

I also played with my friend Kim.  I didn't get any photos of her.

Bear Lake 2025

We ventured to Bear Lake for our Summer Vacation.  I didn't take many pictures, because I'm out of practice.  These are not in any order.  We were there over a weekend which we haven't been before.   it was two days instead of three.  It was good for two days but 3 is good too.

Andrew and Lili.  Prob Brooke's legs there

Someone wave running out there.  Not sure who but they look like they are having fun
Bringing the wave runners on in

I think that is me.  Brooke took that

Brody and Maureen

Abi and Me.  I have missed her soooooooo much

Abi and Brody came up to go with us!!  They flew in Thursday night and left Monday evening after we got home.  Such a fun time to chat and hang with them.

Nick, Grandma and me

Andrew and Ty (well, half of him)

Nick had a mishap and ripped his suit when he was doing a butterfly stretch.  Ty offered to take him to by a new one.  Convenienty they found a new one for 33.00.  He said that was half off and they had to take it off the maniquen.  No big deal to me, I have taken stuff off manquens many times.

Ty flying his kite.  He got pretty good.  It isn't the best pic but he's out there.

Ty and Brooke and Millie.  Babies look so good on them.

Abi and Brooke have matching dusters.  Brooke wanted that duster and ordered it when we ordered one for Grandma.  (yes we all love dusters from Woman Within)  and she left it in Boston hanging on the back of the bathroom door.  When I ordered one for Brooke for her birthday, I thought I should get one for Abi.  I didn't get to give it to her until the trip.  They look so great matching.  I need to get me one.

The room code, you know for when we got liquored up and forget it...
We stopped at Utah State at the Creamery on our way up.  It didn't disappoint.
And thes doritoes were everyone's favorite.  Sould have picked up another bag from the Sams.

Fun trip was had by all.  I'm always glad when we arrive home safely and everyone returned alive.
