Disneyworld - Hollywood Studios.

After our Day at the Santa Fe Zoo School, we were on our way to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

McCall started the day off with these shirts!  They were super cute.  Too bad it rained a lot of the day because we had to wear a raincoat!
This is Brooke and I can't remember what ride this is...Buzz Light year maybe.!  First ride of the day!

Our first treat, an ice cream sandwich...nothing like eating your way through Disneyworld.

This was my FAVORITE ride.  It was going to a concert of Aerosmith!  Aerosmith is a super old band that no one younger than me even knows!  It was in the dark and our goal was to get to the concert on time.  I like the roller coasters in the dark because you have no idea when you are going upside down or some kindof terrible loop!

Next up was Tower of Terror.  Loved this ride when I was in Disneyland 18 years ago.  This time, it stopped during the ride...and the lights came on.  So you saw exactly what was in the ride.  Then after about 10 minutes, we started again and had to finish the ride in the light.  NOT the same.  Found out that someone dropped something in another place so they had to stop the ride.  We did get a reride - it was as fabulous as I remembered.

These are our Disney moments shots.  We didn't mean to match the raincoats.  Mine was pink and Michelle's was Red...

Lots of rain!  had to get a disneyworld poncho!  Brooke and McCall were real troopers and didn't need a rain poncho.

After Hollywood Studios, we went over to Epcot.  That huge ball represents the Geosphere...we found that at Epcot.  Epcot was great.  We did a lot of walking around and a few rides.  They were having a flower festival so thats why our shirt had mickey mouse with flower print.  cool huh.

                                                                     Brooke and Michelle

got back to our hotel late.  I fell into bed exhausted!  Exhausted is good.  It means we had a great day!

Santa Fe College for Zoo Keepers

Brooke and I just got back from Florida.  Yes, you read that right..I actually went on a trip...I haven't been on an airplane for about 18 years.  It was fun to travel on an airplane again...anyway our goal was to check out Santa Fe Community College.  They have a Zoo Keeper program and Brooke wants to go there in the fall.

So we flew into Orlando, rented a car and drove to Gainsville, FL about 2 hours away.  Well, actually, McCall, my niece did the driving.   She came with us too and Michelle, my sister.

When we arrived we had a Tour of their Zoo from a student that was a mid.  Which means she is half way through the program.  She was from Illinois ( I think) and had already graduated in Art. She was looking for something else to do and decided to go to Zoo School.  She was also paying out of state tuition.  It was fabulous tour.  We had tons of questions to ask, and she explained what the students do all day, and we got to see the students in action with their projects they were working on in the zoo.

This is the only pic I got of the tour.  It is McCall, Brooke and then the Zookeeper Student our tour guide.

Our tour lasted at least an hour.  Then she met with a counselor that answered any other questions and helped with a schedule of classes.  We drove by a few apartments that she is going to check out and we got some hints for how to find somewhere to live.  I think she is ready to go.  I thought the school was great!  It is small and every one of the graduates this year had somewhere to go....like a job or an internship after.  I am jealous because I never thought of being a Zoo Keeper.

Andrew

My Andrew came for a visit.  He came to pick up his car.  He decided to sell Pest Control in California for the Summer and lasted 2 days.  He came back and wanted to pick up his car, so he came for a few days.  Here he is fast asleep...so tired from selling door to door.  He is now working at the Airport in Cedar City refueling planes.  He likes that better than door to door sales in California.  I would to.  Everyone has to figure that out for themselves.

Orchestra Concerts End of Year

Nick and Abi both had end of year concerts on the same night.  It would usually be a problem, but Nick was at 5:30 and Abi was at 7:00.  Nick was at Bountiful High school since the Jr High is under construction, and Abi was at Woods Cross High School.  Nick plays the cello, and he is kindof in the middle

This is Abi, she plays the Viola which sit usually in front and to the conductors left a bit.  This is the one time I could actually see her.  AND her friend Josh, who plays the cello, is also in view.  Kindof random.  And not a good photo because I was in the back where I usually sit because you can always get a seat...and I was almost late and that is where the seats were.

So, Abi is circled in the following pic....and the circle goes right through Josh's head.  How's that for talent on my part.

After the concert with her buds...in the orchestra room

I don't have any end of year pics of Jack's orchestra concert.  He decided to give his cello back early.  He was finished being in Orchestra.

Favorite Things

These are my favorite things!!  I LOVE them.  It was the first time we were together in church in a LONG time.  So we had to snap a picture on the way in. Jack, of course wasn't cooperating..

Brooke gave me these flowers!  LOVE them.

AND she found at Trader Joe's some MILK chocolate peanut butter cups.  We love Trader Joe's but most things they have are dark chocolate...not a fan.  But Milk chocolate?  I'm all in!
