Jack's game against Springville con't

I went to Jack's football game against Springville and took some lousy pictures.  He had a great game and was just coming off of an injury.  He sent me these pictures that he got from somewhere.  He is #59

This is him getting the fumble recovery

This is a great pic also

Jack asks to Homecoming

Jack decided to ask his friend Noelle to the Homecoming Dance.  Brooke helped him.  They made this poster to ask her.  Then they dropped it off at her house.

This is what he got back for an answer.  That is such a super cute poster.

Thanks Brooke for helping Jack.   And Wonton and Luna are on my bed...

Bear Lake Golf

So this golf group that I have been playing some golf with sometimes went to Bear Lake to play golf.

I went up Saturday and played at a course in Montpellier.  It is about 20 miles from Bear Lake.  It was only 9 holes so you play it twice.  I did ok.  Some good shots and certainly some bad. I outdrove (that  word?) some of them too.  It was absolutely beautiful

We stayed in this airb&b.  This is the view we had

We got up early and got some breakfast at Crepes and Coffee.  It was the only place open on Sunday in the early morning.  Guess people don't go there before church.

We were missing one golfer here. She went home early

Look how close I chipped this ball to the green. :)

We decided to head to Tony Grove which is about an 8 mile detour in Logan Canyon.

It has this lake and a campground. I had no idea this cool lake was there.  We walked around the lake. Which was further than I bargained for because of my bad knee.  But I survived and felt so good.  Fabulous weekend.

to bcc: me
This week was so spiritual uplifting but my district also made it a lot of fun!!! I got into Omaha a couple of hours ago so if this email is rushed sorry. One of the best parts this week was seeing my buddy elder croft everywhere. I'm excited to get out into the field and save some souls. The mtc was good but the food could have been better.

Monday: Monday was really fun because we went to the temple. It was super cool because I've never been to the provo temple and I love how every temple is different but all of them still are so pretty. Monday was also our p day so we played like 2 hours of sand volleyball and then did some laundry.

Tuesday: after breakfast some elders (may or may not include myself) fell asleep after breakfast and the other elders decided that they were not gonna be christ like and didn't wake us up for class.  By the time one of us woke up and realized class was like 2 minutes away so we hustled to class but we were still late amd because we were late sister niu made us do wall sits for all of opening exercises. To make things even worse elder Compton decided he was gonna ask for every blessing ever and said the longest prayer of my professional church career. Then during our missionary moment elder biesinger who was doing wall sits decided to chime in on the lesson and made our wall sits even longer. Overall it was like a 5 minute wall sit. My legs felt pumped after it!! Also that day a general authority came and spoke about obedience. It was so cool to hear his talk because the spirit was so strong in the room.

Wednesday: today was sister nius last day. Which was kinda bitter sweet because I was sad she was leaving but also grateful for all the things she has taught me about missionary work and the gospel. One of the activities she had us do was write in each other's journal what some of our spiritual gifts are which really made me put things into perspective. It made me realize that I'm a little hard on myself sometimes when I bare my testimony.

Thursday: our sub didn't show up for an hour so they assigned us one on the fly. He was super funny and taught us lots. Then in our night class we dove into the laws and ordinances of the gospel which was super dope. I also lost my card for a fat second but good Old elder fox came in clutch and found it for me.

Friday: elder biesinger and I had a helping others appointment which is basically like a fake lesson and they give you a score. We crushed the lesson and the guy gave us really good scores. When we told our district at dinner how good our scores were elder Carver stood up and started clapping which made the whole cafeteria give us a standing ovation. So basically elder biesinger and I are pros at teaching fake lessons to fake people haha.

Saturday: today we also had a sub for our morning class and our sub was legit the coolest guy ever. He had these really funny sayings like "no chance". He also loves albino squirrels and the red wooded wood pecker. Shout out to elder biesingers quote of the day " God loves you so he gave you albino squirrels". There also a rule about no exercising the day before you leave so I decided to be obedient and not go workout which was kinda tough but rules are rules. Instead of working out some of the elders and I had to do laundry to get ready for transfer day. Then we had our last night class with sister Anderson and it was very good. We combined with another district and did some fake lessons. Then during the last 30 mins we all shared our testimony and it was very very spiritual. So spiritual that some of the elders cried. (Definitely not me)

Sunday: usually Sundays are very busy for missionaries but I still love them because I feel the spirit the most on them. We also had three devotionals and during the last one president porter played with army men and elder carver and I threw shade on each other. It was still a good day but also sad cause we all said goodbye to each other

Hope you all have a great week. I would love to hear from you all and catch up on what is going on in the world.
Love you all!!

Nick Made it to Omaha

Nick arrived in Omaha, Nebraska to start his mission.  I received this picture from  random number

He is in the green tie over on the left.

They left the MTC I think around 7:45 and had to take a bus and front runner.  His plane didn't leave until 2:00.

Then I got this picture from the Mission President that they arrived safely.

He looks great.

I didn't realize he is one of the shorter ones.  :)

Brooke is The Best

Brooke is the best.  She is so quick to help everyone.  She helped me today when I had my surgery.

She picked me up, drove the cadi (which I don't really let anyone), Left the credid card at home (I really did that), and waited for me, talked to the Drs, signed all the paperwork, and drove me home.  She also picked up lunch, got me a lemon loaf at Starbucks, picked up my meds at target and got about 8 Maverick drinks for me.

Brooke, Luna, Wonton on my bed While tending Jack

Lemon loaf.  I was only going to eat half....but finishing off the rest of it right now.  I had to put the bag there to hide the potato chips...:)

Here's the Maverick drinks safe in her car.  She can fit both of them.

Yep I had surgery on my other knee.  Just Arthroscopic this time.

She was a fabulous Nurse and driver and everything.  She takes care of Grandma, mowing her lawn, taking her to lunch at Sticky Bird and takes her to Costco.  She even drove Grandma to her friend Kayes house so she could visit.  She had a great time however doing that.

She also helped me get Nick ready for the MTC and his mission.  She tended Jack so I could go out of town.  She is my football partner and all things anything else.  She helped Andrew get ready to move, She takes Carla to the Dr, and tends Mitchell's puppy so he could go on a cruise.

There are a million other things she does for people. I appreciate them all.

She even came in and listened to me talk ALL day after surgery.  (that was my favorite part)

I tuckered her right out.

Football for Jack

Jack has been on the injured list.  He suffered a concussion that put him out for 3 weeks.  He got to play today against Springville.

He did great.   Gma and I went to the game.  We sat on the home team side because it was not as hot and we couldn't walk to the other side...:)

He got a fumble recovery which was great.  He said the coach said "Jack, you had a hell of a game'.  Yay.  He said he felt good and his head didn't hurt.  I hope so.

These pictures are not good, but he is #59.  But it shows that I was there..:)

Jack is #59.  thats his fumble recovery.  Great pic. Not sure who took that
