Owlz Bat Boy 2015

Nick was the Bat Boy last year for the Orem Owls.  They are a minor leagues team (I think) in Provo Utah.  But they are soo fun to watch on a summer night.  He was the bat boy last year and liked it so much he wanted to do it again.  They actually called me this year to see if he wanted to do it.  So we signed up for two nights.  Jack isn't old enough or he would have done it also.

So, June 30, was his first night.  It was super hot.   He was doing a great job of getting the bats, providing the Umps with water, and making sure the Umps had extra balls.  However, about the 8th inning, it started to Rain. Then Lightening.  It was crazy.  the game was delayed for about 30 minutes.  So during that 30 minute time, the coaches helped him run, bat, and throw.  According to him.  He has been coached by the best!

We had all the gang there.  Grandma and Grandpa Lewis, Michelle, McKenna, Creed (her new boyfriend-- Koa came last year), Jack, Brooke, and me.

Brooke, McKenna, and Creed (kenna's friend) were asked to play the Hot dog game during the innings.  The idea was for the Hot dog (Creed) to run ahead, and the ketchup and the Mustard are to try to tackle him.  Kenna was the mustard and Brooke was the Ketchup.  Brooke tackled Creed between first and second base, and McKenna kept on running.  She wanted to win the free Menchies (frozen Yogurt) if she was first...

About the 7th inning, the sky started to change and it poured rain.  The wind blew and there was a ton of lightening.  Kind of cool.  Well, that lead to a rain delay of at least 30 minutes.  We had to wait it out so our batboy could finish his job.

New Car

Usually that would be my favorite title for a post.  However, I had to buy a new car because my other car was totaled. I LOVED my other car, except that it was having trouble with the slider door.  But everything else I loved.  I have waited for the insurance to pay off my car, and it left about $2500 remaining.  The insurance will only pay what your car was worth, not what the loan is.  (kind of a weird deal, but I get it.)  So conveniently I have GAP insurance that will pay for the remaining balance between what the insurance paid and what I owe.  (that is a good thing.)  Anyway, I called our good Salesman Darren from Larry H Miller.  He fixed me up with a van.  I like it.  Glad I found one and it was mostly painless.  They also threw in a second key (that costs about $250) and a year extra on the maintenance agreement.  I also have a year of free oil changes on the maintenance agreement...

Brooke wanted to go with me.  So I met her in SLC and we headed over to see our Bud Darren.  He is soo funny.  He is certainly a car salesman.  I was approved in about 4 minutes.  I do have a 775 credit score.  That's Phenomenal.  I think 800 is the highest, but when I bought my house, the guy said he had never seen an 800.  I was very proud of that...

Anyway, the second best thing is that he gave us roses.  Soo funny.  So glad its finished.
