Maybe I should get a Dog

Thinking about getting a Dog.  You know, because I am such an Animal lover.

Maybe one like this.

Christmas 2018

Christmas Day I headed to Cedar City to Pick up Andrew.  It was a bit cold and I was a bit worried about snow.  However, I checked the weather report a billion times and it was suppose to snow but it was a trace amount.  Nick decided to come with me to keep me company.  I was glad to have him with me.  I was also a bit nervous thinking that it was Christmas and if a gas station would be open.  Success they were open.  We stopped in Fillmore on the way down.  We collected Andrew and headed back to SLC.  We stopped at about 4 Mavericks on the way home because we had to get gas, pee, get a drink or pizza.  It was slower but way more fun.  I am so glad he came home for a few days.

I didn't take many pics of the holidays.  I am not as good about taking pictures as I use to be.  I try to be in the moment but then I don't have any pics.  So this is all I got of Christmas.  Not sure how I even decided on these.  We facetimed Brooke so she could open with us.  maybe that's why I didn't take many because she was on my phone.

Jack got this hover board.  It was a last minute idea for him, and he seemed to like it.  I was surprised.  Andrew is checking it out.

This is my favorite Gift.  Love it and the people in it.

Abi and Rowdy (Abi's friend) decorated the tree finally.  It looks good.

We got our usual Chinese food for Christmas from Sam Pan.  Pickup time was over an hour but that was ok we didn't have anywhere to be.  I couldn't have asked for a better day.  It really was great.  Spending time with my kiddies who I love with all my heart.  We had a great drive, good food, and good fun.

New Years HUD gone

Today we cleaned out Nick's room.  I mean its embarrassing what we got out of there.  However, chili had stuff in there and we got rid of most of it. We changed around some beds and vacuumed and threw out lots of shoes (which make the room stink I think) and cleaned out the closet.  We got rid of legos, and this old dresser.

This is some of the stuff...

We took this shelf down too because I have hated it for a long time.  It is time to go.  It is from a long time ago and collects dust and HUD.  Chili put that light house chair or whatever it is on top of it and who wants that.  OUT it went.

It is so cleansing to get rid of HUD.  Serious.   Part of getting my life in order is getting my house in order first.  Just like the scriptures.

I have had a goal of 2018 things out the door in 2018.  I have gotten close. I am also taking 300 things for chili willy leaving. .  .

Food for Thought

Proud Mama

I came downstairs to see this.

Talk about a proud mother moment.  We have this joke with Marti's brother , Kerry that he can just put his drink on his gut while driving and we have thought it was so convenient.  Nick is following in Kerry's footsteps.

I did it- with ONE day to spare

Yes, I did something right. I just finished reading the Book of Mormon for the challenge given from President Nelson in the Women's conference.  I think it was like 90 days.  I got TWO weeks behind at one time, and started late.  However, I thought well, I am two weeks ahead of where I would be if I didn't start.  So, I forged onward and decided I liked listening and following along better than just reading because I would get side tracked.  I also listened in the car while out Christmas shopping.

Here is where the challenge came from.

My dear sisters, you may remember that during the October general conference, I extended four invitations to you:
1. Participate in a 10-day fast from social media and any other media that bring negative and impure thoughts to your mind.
2. Read the Book of Mormon by the end of 2018.
3. Establish a pattern of regular temple attendance.
4. Participate fully in Relief Society.
I hope that each of these invitations has brought you closer to the Savior. If you have struggled with any of them, please don’t be hard on yourself. You can start today. The Lord is happy with any effort we make to draw closer to Him.
I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon, the heavens will open for you. The Lord will bless you with increased inspiration and revelation.
As we begin our home-centered, Church-supported curriculum in 2019, you sisters are a key to the success of this new, balanced, and coordinated gospel-teaching effort. Please teach those whom you love what you are learning from the scriptures. Teach them how to turn to the Savior for His healing and cleansing power when they sin. And teach them how to draw upon His strengthening power every day of their lives.
I am eager to hear about what you have learned as you have focused on these four invitations. I invite you to please leave me a comment below about your experiences.

I forgot that he challenged us to do the social media fast. I also did that.  I didn't establish a regular pattern of temple attendance, but I did go a few times, which was better than I have been doing.  I didn't participate fully in Relief Society. I'm in Primary so I don't get to RS.  I'm kind of proud of myself.  I learned a lot and I am thinking of reading the Book of Mormon again at the same rate.

It says the Lord will bless you with increased inspiration and revelation....not sure that happened. I don't always do the right thing or say the right thing.,But if I want inspiration and revelation I better do it if he promised that

Christmas Vacation

We didn't do much noteworthy for the Holiday.  Abi and Andrew were both here for a visit.
I returned a lot, went to the Planet,  and ate at the Habit with Andrew.

Brooke's friend Ty, came over to give us a Christmas present.  He gave us this blanket with fur on the other side, some movies and hot chocolate.  Win!

and told us to come to the Zoo and see the Zoo Lights.  So, Saturday, I told him we wanted to come so he met us and got us in the Zoo.

He took us over to the Giraffe Barn and the Keeper Ali showed us the Back stage for the Giraffe's and Zebras and Ostriches.

These pics aren't the best, but hated to take a lot of pics when we were guests in the barn
Here we are after the Barn.

This was our Selfie with Ty.

Then we had a photobomb from isaiah who also works at the zoo.

I think I'm going to date him.  He was sporty

We had a great time walking around although it was cold.  We got hot chocolate and churros and a pretzel.  I know thats a surprise.

Nick is showing us his drink holder.  Oh his gut.  Nice.  Makes a mother proud

These are my new favorite pj pants.  Love me some flamingo.  Brooke and Abi also got a pair.  How could I resist and not share some flamingo love.

These are my socks I wore to the Zoo.  They were not very warm socks.  Lynne gave them to me about 20 years ago.  Finally got around to wearing them the last few years.

Went to the planet a few times.

I thought I could start smiling at this guy next time.  He looks like a good dude.  It was a slow day at the gym...

This is my Moe shirt that I got from Lynne that helps me be brave.  I wore it a lot the last while.
