A Faucet Repair

So my faucet has been leaking in my bathroom for quite a long time.  I hate to call a plumber, because well, I have to be here and talk to them, and pay them and clean for them...Although I love my plumber,,,

Turn off the water first.  You know if you make a video don't say oh turn off the water.  Show me how to turn it off,  Anyway I figured it out.

I watched a Youtube video (of course) and he had a link to a part  I ordered the part and it sat.  That was in June.  Finally, now that it is September, I fixed it.  I watched about a million videos.  Everyone tells you a little different parts.  I needed a 3/32 allen wrench and I found that in my tools.  I think I bought it at Dollar Tree long ago.  I was on my way to Home Depot to get one and I realized I just might have one somewhere else.  And I did :)

Got the faucet off. Took out the cartidge, took out the spring and rubber thing.  Kept it seperate from the new parts.  (that was a hint from one of the videos..)

Watched youtube again.  Replaced rubber thing and screw from the kit I bought.

Replaced cartridge, and screwed the handle back on.  oh and turned the water back on.  AND it worked with NO leaks!

This sound like it was 15 minutes.  NOPE.  it took about 5 hours with the trip to Home Depot. I thought I had the wrong Cartridge.  So I drove to Home Depot and while looking for the right part, I realized I just needed to turn this plastic part and it was the right thing   So that trip was useful beause I figured it out but didn't need to buy anything.  :)

I did buy two more umbrellas beause brooke and Andrew broke mine..

Always take a picture.  No one suggested it but I thought it was a good idea

The hard water is not gone nor cleaned off.   I started but it is going to be a job.  Lime Away isn't cutting it with the hard water.  I need to replace the water softner but it is not in the budget right now.

That is why there is no after pic.

I did get a donut on the way home from the trip to Home Depot that wasn't necessary!  My reward for a job well done.

Feels so good to figure it out.

Makenzy got baptised!!! - Nick's Email fron Omaha

Yo what's up guys. Hope you had a super good week. This week felt so long but it was worth it in the end!

Monday: we did our usual p day stuff. Basketball and then lots of gator ball. My jump shot is so clean now. Watch out 👀

Tuesday: we had zone conference and Elder Jimenez of the seventy did his mission tour and came and talked to us and dang it was so awesome. He was so funny and genuine. He told us a lot of great stuff on how we can better convert our friend to the gospel after us and the boys went and snagged some burgers which were so bomb

Wednesday: somehow all the service we had lineup just happened to fall on this day so we did 7 hours of service just on this day. It was wild but actually so much fun. I love serving my fellow man. We also helped someone on a farm and it was super cool to be a rancher for a few hours ahaha

Thursday: did some more service for a member but this time I got to go to the dump! After sadly we found put one of our friends who was preparing to be baptised got sent to the hospital so plz pray for Daniel he needs all the help he can get

Friday: we just really walked around and talked. Someone did call the cops on us because they said we were being too pushy but the cops came and they were so chill and just talked to us for like 15 mins about home and then left.

Saturday: we got up and had to head down to grand island to fill the font for makenzy's baptism. The baptism service was so fire and the spirit was there. After makenzy told us she had never been so happy in her life. AHHHH THE GOSPEL IS SO GREAT

Sunday: we had church and we got to confirm makenzy. During the confirmation makenzy started crying and the spirit just filled the room entirely it was so great. Makenzy is a living testimony that God does prepare people for the missionaries to teach. It only took her 3 weeks from the time we first met her to her baptism. She read the entire book of mormon in that time as well

That was my week. Mainly the coolest thing was the baptism. Makenzy's baptism was so great and probably one of the best baptisms I've ever been apart of! Feel free to reach out. Remember God is good and so is canes! Love yall

Rose park Again and HUD gone!

Rose Park and getting rid of HUD are my favorite things.

I keep posting about Golf.  If we did anything else beside golf, I could post about that!  But I want everyone in my posterty to know that we had fun at least doing the same thing.

Jack is hitting the ball.  No foxes this time on the course today

Andrew's turn

Not sure waht this is but it was in my photos :)

Empty Cart because....

Andrew had to use the bathroom.  He pees more than any person I know including myself  :)

Felt like my dad.  I got a Salted Nut Roll because I was not feeling so great.  That is a dad candy for sure.  It was good though

Andrew and I cleaned out the shed and some of the back yard. We made two trips to the dump and a trip to the DI.   Conveniently grandma lives in Bountiful so we can use her Power bill to get in the Dump by our house.  Otherwise we would have to drive 30 minutes away.  And it was only 5.00.

I like that the bikes we took went to the metal recycling and the TV goes in Electronic stuff.  We even dropped some off at the Green waste.

We didn't have to go up to the Landfill.

I got to cross off some more boxes for my get rid of 2023 things in 2023. I am not even half way. But doing my best. Love to get rid of HUD.

Pre dump planet visit.  I would say workout but not sure it was classified as that.

I did see Andrew's friend that said he always sees me at the gym  Yep he always does.

2001

My cousin sent me these pics.  Look how cute.  So young and so little.

Gotta Love McKenna.  Those were good times.  And the cute matching outfits.  Sometimes I wish they were still young and cute.  And other times I  like where we are now because it has been super fun to watch all of them grow up and rock their lives.

Then here's McKenna's baby.  He isn't such a baby anymore.I think Theo is like 9 months old now.

I think he looks like he is wearing a Wig.  :)

Softball, Ton, and Driving Range

Andrew and I decided to take Brooke to the driving range.  She has left handed clubs but haven't been used for a while.  She was pretty good. It was super hot though.  I had to rest because my back hurt from carrying my clubs over from the car.

Jack and Andrew at the Rec softball game  they did great.  Jack is batting.  I think they lost.

Andrew is the third base coach for this inning

I was tending the Ton so I took him with me.  It is the only time he likes me is if we are going in the car

The Ton decided to get the cheese off the counter and he ate it right out of the pkg.  I was in the other room and couldn't figure out what he was doing..

Ton was so glad when Brooke got back

13 months! - Nicks letter from Omaha

What's up everyone! Hope all yall had a super great week! This was pretty slow out in the great state of Nebraska but it's chill!

Monday: district p day- we did a fun little white elephant thrift store activity. Basically all of us went to the thrift store, picked a name out of a hat and then bought something for that person. I got elder Val and he's heading down to equador next week so I bought him a little tractor to remember the midwest. Rest of p day was us playing tip in and gator ball

Tuesday: had district council and then we had to speed back to our area so that makenzy this girl who is getting baptized could have her interview. She passed!!! We are so excited for her to get baptized next Saturday!

Wednesday: we did service for our fun kerry. Mostly just pulling weeds and burning wood for him. Then we went and talked to this lady Daniella. She yelled at us for an hour about how the book of mormon isn't true because the picture of Jesus in the front of the book doesn't match what the book of  revelation says what Jesus looked like. People be taking the Bible way to literally out here.

Thursday: we taught makenzy about the temple. We showed her a video about the temple and after she said that it was the most peaceful video she has ever seen! Makenzy is freaking elect!

Friday: we taught the jacksons. They are a big family we are teaching that wants to be baptized. Unfortunately the parents aren't married so they can't get baptized until they have there wedding but they told us that we could get the kids baptized and they would just wait till after. Gary is the dad and he is so chill.

Saturday: we taught our guy Daniel he also wants to be baptized but he's been drinking a lil too much. He was super sick so we gave him and his wife a blessing. We taught the jacksons again that night about temples and eternal families. Then we gave Gary a blessing because he was sick too.

Sunday: had church. Makenzy and the jacksons both showed up! After church was rough. Just straight walking around and getting rejected really good character building day haha. Then we talked to this homie named Caleb who went off on some crazy rant about dark Templar and the crusades. He called us the "lavender saints" so that was weird. Ended the night on a good note though talked to Dustin and he told us he hasn't had a drop of alcohol since we started talking to him so that was nice to hear.

I've been really trying to be more christlike in my missionary work recently. Anytime someone is mean I always try to remember that they are a child of God. I hit 13 months this week and time is flying. I swear I just hit a year like last week but God's so good and is so loving. Also college football started and I miss It so much. Send me some football scores if the spirit tells ya bahaha. Love yall

Weekend Golf - Rosepark

It was Labor Day Weekend.  Not much happened that I know of.  We did manage to get some golf in at the Rose Park.

Jack hit a good drive. So good that it was three fairways away.

Andrew warming up for his great drive on the second hole.  It is the long hole that is along Redwood Road.  Par 5

Jack's ball is two fairway away from this one

Jack needing to rest after his drive.  He is probably really staying away from the Foxes on the course...We didn't see any but he knows they are there..:)

Thanks Jim for lending me your Stanley so I can have water too.   Notice it fits in my drink holder mostly

Jack on second base for their Softball team.  .  .  Can't wait to go again this week to watch

Birthdays, bashers and exchanges - Nick's email from Omaha

Yo what's good everyone elder Clemons coming back at ya with another great week here in Nebraska. This week was full of highs and also a lot of lows but you can't have fun unless there's bad times too I guess!!

Monday: P DAY: played lots and lots of basketball and tons of gatorball. Finished the night off with some little Caesars which was so bomb

Tuesday: we had district council and then went and had a lesson with mckenzy and she is so fire. This is only our second time meeting with her and she's already read to Alma and taken lots of notes. Then she came with us to Game night later and all the members loved her. She actually so elect!!

Wednesday: we had exchanges with the Spanish missionaries. I gotta take elder Val and ure both are brand new to the mission so it was a fun day mobbing around with some greenies. It was super weird though because I've never been in a trio so it just felt odd talking to people when there is three of us.

Thursday: we had a lesson with Daniel and his wife Wanda. We set both of them on date and they are super excited to be working towards baptism. Later we did some service for a member and had some lessons fall through so mostly it was a walking day

Friday: had another good lesson with mckenzy. She is super excited about her baptism. She nannies these kids and they just love when we come around because we always play catch with them after lessons haha

Saturday: did some more service and then went to lunch with the members. The rest of the day was just us walking around in the heat. It was so hot!!

Sunday: Sunday was my birthday and we got a lot of people to church. Mckenzy came and she brought me a birthday present with a bunch of cards from the kids she nannies. After every testimony on Sunday the person would wish me a happy birthday and the members here are just so sincere and so loving it was a fire Sunday 🔥

This week was lit and guess I'm 20 now so that's weird. Nebraska is so fire though. Im just so happy i decided to serve and I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world. Love yall
