An Accomplished Saturday

Andrew has been so excited to do some household chores for me.  First on the docket was to clean out the rain gutters.  They have been dripping and not draining for a while.  So he climbed on the roof, and it took about 3 minutes ....there was a LaCrosse ball stopping the downspout.  Yay.   Got the window screen back in and done.  I didn't get any pics of that because he was soo fast.

Then since I had him in a good mood, we,  I mean he,  cleaned out the weeds on the side of the house by the shed.  It has never been cleaned out over there.  Well, minus the time I dragged the Christmas tree and card table from over there that was thrown there to get rid of it or the pizza boxes o the trash.  He did a great job.  And it was raining and wet.

Tha'ts the pile of weeds.  That is only about half of what he raked out of there.  It is such a disaster over there and in the spring and summer I know there is stuff livng in all those weeds.  So I'm so glad it is cleaned and not so much of a forest.

That blue thing is an old saucer used for sledding.  It was decaying it has been over there so long.

Here's Andrew in action

That was a big branch from over there.

Cleaned it out and on to Betos for a Breakfast Burrito.  That is the least I could do.  Andrew even paid for the Maverick drinks.

On to the next project...clean out the freezer. I am not sure when I last cleaned it out, if ever.

Embarrassing ...so bad

He loves to clean and so I washed the shelves and he washed out the inside

Here's all the junk waiting to get put back in.

We really didn't throw much away but it was nice to actually see what I have in there.  Some stuff gets stuck in the bottom.

THEN we loaded up the bunk beds and took them to the DI.  We haven't used them for a few years.  They were great bunk beds but it is time.  I don't need them anymore and if someone needs a bed I'll just buy them one.  I wouldn't make them sleep in a bunk bed.  Andrew took them and hopefully someone will want them.  The DI will probably just chuck them.  Who knows but now I have a few more boxes to check in my decluttering challenge.  I'm still 1000 items away from making it.

Great Friday

Friday is my favorite day of the week.  However this particular friday we were having a department work day.  We met in the library and we were doing some Professional Development.  Which is a great break from being in the classroom.  Andrew texts me and asks me if I want to golf today.

YES!  The days are getting shorter so we have to be on the course by  3:00.  I took off at 2:30 and got there at 2:50.  Yay.  I didn't change my clothes so good thing I had on clothes that worked for golf.

He got the drinks for us

Here he is in action.

I had a GREAT game.  We went to the Rose Park.  My favorite and were paired with these two named Connor.  Both of them.  It was the first time I have ever been paired with people that were worse at golf than I am.  The one was not great but still pretty good.  It was super fun to play and a beautiful day.  We got off just in time to beat the dark.  I had one of my best games too.

THEN I met my bud Lynne and Jenn at the Red Lobster for some Bonding.  LOVE them so much and LOVE Red Lobster.  Yes, I got the crab.  My bill this time was only 37.00.  Last time it was 67.00.  I like 37.00 better. Stayed for like 3 hours and just had a great time.

This is the only picture I have.  I got a free dessert because it is my birthday month.  LOVE me some vanilla bean cheesecake with raspaberry sauce.  I would have paid for it too.  Such a great Friday and a great way to head into the weekend.

Nick and Watermelon and close to the hole

This is all I got lately.  Saw this post on Facebook that made me smile.

And took some time off to play golf with Michelle.  Love some fall golf.  It is difficult to see the ball sometimes.  Here's my chip to the green on the first hole at the Rose Park.  Look how close I was.

LAX Tournament for Salt Lax City

Jack Played in a LAX tournament over the weekend.  He played at the Zions Bank Stadium.  I was all excited for it to be outside. I had my double slicks on along with a hat and gloves.

I got there and it was inside.  So disappointed.  But he played 4 games with his Bountiful High team.

There are random videos of the game and his plays.  Some of them are foggy but they had weird lighting in there at times and depending on what field we were on.  He played every game all the time which I was surprised.  He did great however so no wonder he played so much.

He had a great cheering squad.  I didn't get any pictures of them.  Brooke and Ty came and brougt him a gatorade.  They got there just at the ending of the first game and had to wait an hour for the next game to start.

Andrew came later with Lily and they brought me a drink and brooke and ty one too.  They stayed for a few games too.

Glad they could come and sit with me since I usually go alone.  Oh Jack's team made it to the final game and they lost by one goal.  It was a great game.

The Process

Jack has been going to see this guy at the Process down the street from us. I don't even know his name.  He has him coming 2x a week and has make such good progress.

This is what he posted on the Instagram or somewhere.  Someone asked me what I'm feeding him beause he looks like he has lost weight.  Well, I can't take any credit for it.  It is all them.

Way to go Jack.  Keep up the good work and work the process.

Halloween

Halloween just isn't the same when your kids aren't going Trick or Treating.  I haven't had to find a costume for anyone for 6 years!  It is the best. I 'm horrible at costumes.

I slid my white board over today at school, and I found a pic of my Wonton.  What a great surprise

.

Andrew and I sat out on the porch and handed out candy.  It is easier than having all the kids climb up the stairs and shut and open the door a million times. Plus it is fun to sit out there.  It was cold.  Lily joined us too.  But no pics.

Andrew got Pappa Murphys pizza and bread so we ate that too.  Our Halloween tradition continues for pumpkin shaped pizzas from them.  NO white sauce Artichoke spinach pizza like others we know like and we have at every family party.

Best thing is sitting outside, the neighbors came over and asked if I liked golf also, (he asked Andrew that last week) and went inside and brought me a dozen golf balls for being such good neighbors.  Seriously?  We are horrible neighbors.  Way cool.  His 5 year old twins were cute spidermans.

Salty Dinner Theater with Andrew

I have these season tickets (3 shows) for this Dinner Theater.  I went to the first one and missed the second one.  Andrew said he would go to this one with me.  It was at the Red Lobster, which is my favorite place to eat most of the time.

We got there and this dude was laying there.  We weren't for sureif he was real. Well he was.

The play or whatever you call it was called Frankenstein.

We sat in a booth with other people.  The guy was a custodian at North Layton Jr. High so we had lots to talk about.  Not sure how I feel about sharing a booth with people I don't know.  But it worked out ok this time.

That is all the pictures I took which isn't very many.  We ordered the Fish and Chips since I decided it would be best because I didn't think we would get great service. I am NOT eating Crab for sure at an event like that.  I almost got the Afredo.  I think I should have or just an appetizer.

It was super fun to go with Andrew to something different.

Still in Aurora - NIck's Email from Omaha

What's up everyone! Hope yall had a good week. I'm writing on a Tuesday this week because they gave us a all day p day for Halloween!! Transfers were this week and surprisingly I stayed with my comp and stayed in Aurora. That makes 3 Transfers with this comp and 4 Transfers in Aurora. Crazy!

Highlights

- had our branch Halloween party and we helped out with the trunk or treat. Our branch is super small so the kids just kept making rounds back to us and I eventually took on 5 primary children for the bag of candy

- had to help with Transfers so I got to go on a mini exchange with elder Olivares and it was quite the party

 - lady told me I was in a cult this week and I may have said a few unkind words to her

 - taught our boy nate while his daughters rode their bikes around us and yelled "church people"

 - taught some homies during the Nebraska football game. I mightve gotten a little distracted during the lesson... but don't worry huskers won! (Rip Oklahoma)

Miracle: yesterday we were working super hard talking to everyone and nobody was saying yes to a message but we kept working and finally the lord provided someone. We taught a family who has been in a constant search for truth and they even said they would come to the church to watch stake conference on Sunday! They are lit tho even though their dog scratched me!

It's getting colder in Nebraska. Sunday we woke up to snow and the wind sure isn't helping. This transfer is gonna be very Interesting but I know God wants me here and I'm where I'm supposed to be. I've been thinking about charity and diligence more and more recently and I think they go hand in hand because really charity in its most simple form can just be being nice to people and sometimes that can take so.e diligence to be nice to everyone

Hope yall have a great week! My week was boring but ended off with some fun! Have a fun Halloween!
