Baseball 2015 Jack

Jack and Nick decided to play baseball at Mueller Park this year.  They said that their friends from school were playing there.  Okay.  I don't care, just play so you are out in the sunshine having fun and getting some exercise.  And especially not fighting.

Jack plays for the Red Sox.  He has another Jack on his team.  So, my jack goes by Tom Brady.  He is the quarterback for the New England patriots football team.  He loves Tom Brady.  His number is also 12.  so Jack's jersey for baseball is 12.  Its just funny to hear them 'Tom Brady you are up to Bat'.  'Tom Brady you need to get your catcher gear on'.  He really is pretty good ball player.

Head Trauma in Boise

We went to Boise, Idaho for a soccer tournament.  We left friday morning.  We played soccer two times on saturday.  We lost both terribly.  One team was the number 1 team in montana.  We really didn't stand a chance.  Sunday, we played in a consolation game.  Abi is the keeper.  She went down to stop a ball, and smashed her head into the goal post.  She has had a headache ever since.  Monday at school, she said she needed to leave.  So Grandma came and picked her up.  She just didn't feel good.  Tuesday she slept in and then came late.  Wed I decided she needed to go to the dr.  She wasn't getting any better.  Not that the doc would do anything, but she needed to know if she had a concussion and what the protocol is.  YES. She did indeed have a concussion.  He said she needed to stay home on thursday from school.  And maybe a half a day on friday if she felt up to it.  AND no soccer for one week.  She was soo sad.  She has never missed a soccer game.  You can't risk another head trauma.  The good thing is the next game was cancelled due to rain.  That never happens.  I'm just glad she didn't get hurt worse and that she says she is getting a bit better,  The headaches have lessened.

Brooke goes to Taiwan

Brooke has gone to Taiwan.  She is going with Snow College.  Something about promoting the College over there.  She will be gone for two weeks.  There is some sight seeing involved.  But she was super exited to go.  She even had to get a passport.  I Hope she has the time of her life.  We dropped her off at 6:00 in the morning at the Airport.  She has arrived in Japan and is starving.  There is live fish all over japan and if you are hungry, they killl it and serve it right then.  I'm sure she will survive.

Getting packed to go

borrowed suitcase from GMA

Jim leaving at 5:15 am.  We were following her to drive her

mother's day 2015

Mothers day.  I received some great gifts this Mother's day.  A denim jacket, a white and black T shirt, a Red lobster gift card, and some licorish and mint Oreos.  I also received this book from Jack about poems that he wrote this school year.  Love it.  Church was nice and I can home and Abi and I had dinner and some Keebler Salad.  (no one else will eat the dinner I fix...ever.)  Love it.  Since I have decided to not be guilty on mothers day, I love it.  I really do love being a mother. I Love hearing the Primary children sing and hearing the speakers speak about mothers. Love that my children think about me.

Brooke, who is in Taiwan with Snow College right now, left a Mother's day gift for me.  A flamingo Shirt (I love flamingos) and a pkg of 9 x 13 pans.  She has broken two of my glass 9 x 13 pans in the past.  She was replacing them she said.  Also some peanut butter M and M's and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups.  So thoughtful.  You know that is all Mother's want.  Is to be remembered.  I just want someone to give me a hug and say they love me.  Thats it.  I don't expect fancy gifts or dinners or anything.  Just love.

Andrew worked on Mother's day.  He brought me home a Subway sandwich for Mother's day.  He brings them home, with the mayo and mustard in a separate container so it doesn't go soggy.  That is the best.  So I usually take it for lunch the next day.  So thoughtful.

Mother's day 2015 thoughts

can't get this to rotate
I have not been a fan of mother's day.  Its a day of guilt.  However, I have come to realize it doesn't have to be that way.  We make it a day of guilt ourselves.  I love my favorite blogger.  He says the following...

"There are Mother’s Day haters out there, who are quick to let the world know their displeasure. To them I would say:
Excuse me., ladies: You do understand that everything isn’t always about you, right?
You know that there are other women in the world who actually like Mother’s Day, and kind of enjoy being recognized for the most important thing they will do in their lives
He goes on to say

There are Mother’s Day haters out there, who are quick to let the world know their displeasure. To them I would say:
Excuse me., ladies: You do understand that everything isn’t always about you, right?
You know that there are other women in the world who actually like Mother’s Day, and kind of enjoy being recognized for the most important thing they will do in their lives?
And you understand that as you complain about it, and talk about how much you hate it, and how unfair you think it is, can cause these well-deserving mothers to enjoy their day less, right? The “plague?” Really?
Unbelievably, some in church leadership worry if they should even acknowledge the mothers at church for fear of hurting your feelings, or having you feel left out. That is just plain wrong. And wimpy.
You are emotionally stronger than that…right? Seeing someone else getting recognition for something you don’t have doesn’t really stir up thoughts of envy, and anguish…does it?  I truly hope not, because that is tragic in a wholly different way.
So, how about for the next few days we all just take a breath, bite our tongues, and let the Moms enjoy their holiday? There are 51 other weekends a year to vent.
As for me?
This Sunday, I’m going to spend some time thinking about my departed Mom, and spoil my sweet EC the very best I can."

love that.
