A Day of Love

I am not a big one to celebrate valentines day.  However, I love these people sooo much in my life.  I had time this year to do a little shopping.  We had a great Valentine dinner of Chicken Cordon Blue and Rice and Green beans.  Sooo good.  We made sugar cookies and decorated them, and then I had some gifts of socks for them.  I bought a random amount of socks that I thought everyone would like some of them.  I put them in a container, and then they could choose whatever pair they wanted when it was their turn.  Really, who would have thought socks would be a big hit or so expensive.

That is a container of about 16 pair of socks, covered with valentine candy. 

This was the after, but look how creative I was with the table runner and green valentine heart in the middle?  That is pictures of wisemen, and sheperds and an Angel and baby Jesus left over from my primary lesson.

Valentines day is fun like Halloween.  You can do something or nothing at all.  Jack and Nick addresed valentines for their class  Nick was sick (supposidly) so he didn't go to school on valentines day.  So, jack ate all of nick's candy for his valentines.  It was only fair, because Jack addressed all of Nick's valentines because he was sick.  Which was out of character for Jack.  He thought it was fun....Jack had a cute box that had the Patriots on it. I don't think I had a picture, but if I find one, I will post it.  Valentines for the class is about 8.00 if you want to addd some starburst or skittles.  Or about 4.00 if you don't.  Thats why I LOVE it.

oh Chilly Willy gave the kids some valentines too.  He made them on the computer that was unique to them, and then gave them some money and attached it to their favorite candy.  Cute.  I got some Under Armour Slickers (my favorite slickers) and some Red Vines and a Red Lobster gift card.  My favorite place to go with my buds.

President's day was Hockey day for us.  We have been to hockey on President's day like two times.  last year, and this year. We LOVE hockey.  It was especially good because there was lots of fights and FOUR players got 10 minute penalties which took to the end of the game, and another player got thrown out of the game.  Soo exciting!  However, Jimbob was lucky again because she held up my Maverik Nitro card and we yelled, and she won a snowboard!  The other game at Christmas time she won a $50.00 maverick gift card just by holding up the same card!

The rest of the hockey was fun. chicken baskets for 5.00 and drinks for 100.00.  But who wants to go to a game and be thirsty.  Abi, Nick, Jack, Jimbob and I were part of the 7598 people that attended today.  Andrew didn't go because he had crossfit.  Good for him.

Andrew went to the Valentines dance.  He had his Jr Jazz team each write a letter on their chest spelling 'sweethearts'.  Then took a flower bouquet (that Brooke had gotten from some boy), and asked Cate if she would to to sweethearts with him.  Soo cute. I wanted to come and watch, but he didn't want me to.

January Golf

Went to Mulligans today for some golf.  They had been advertising that you could still golf in january at their course.  8 of the 9 greens didn't have any snow.  no carts though.  We decided to go.  It was soo cold that we decided to use the driving range instead.  It was heated.  However, we got the only spot that wasn't heated.  Nick got another spot in a heated area and it was much better!  So fun to golf in January.  We will keep trying and when it gets a bit warmer we want to try to golf!

Spaghetti Squash Chicken Parmesan

I have a goal to cook dinner more.  So, here was an attempt at that.  It was fabulous.  I LOVE spaghetti squash and we got 4 at the farmers market.  I got the idea here.

Anyway, here is how it turned out.  Abi and I are the only ones to eat it.  But it was good and much better than expected!

Sometimes the Lord can count on me

I have been called to be a Primary teacher. I have never been a Primary teacher.  Its kind of wierd that I have never been one.  I am a teacher by trade and I come to church each week.  I was the Primary Secretary for a few years and Loved that.  And I was in Cub Scouts.  That's the extent of my Primary service.  I have substituted a few times however.  I always thought I would say no to primary.  I work with children all week, so I am NOT working with them on Sundays...however, I said yes.  I have a great partner and I think it will be fun.  We are teaching the 5 year olds.  Not much cuter than 5 year olds.  We will have the Bishops son, Jack and the First Counselor's son, Connor, and the other Counselor's Daughter, Danika.  Not sure why they choose me, other than I am there every week.  I guess an old crusty body that shows up is better than a young, sleek body that doesn't...they had trouble with their teachers not showing up.

I thought when I went in the office, I thought they were calling me to Camp Director.  I guess I was soo relieved that I decided to say yes so I wouldn't have to plan camp!

MLK day 2015

We went to the Hockey Game today since we are out of school for Martin Luther day.  I have never LOVED Martin Luther more than today when we have the day off.  Andrew took Nick and Jack to the game because I picked up Brooke in Brigham City since she spent the weekend at Utah State. Then Brooke, Maureen, and Abi showed up at the game 30 minutes late. Parking is free when you get there 30 minutes late.  There is something soo fun about hockey. I love it.  We all love it.  All 6 of us went to the game.  Andrew said he was leaving as soon as I got there to go to the gym.  He stayed to the very end with us all.  Its fun to go with them.  Even if it cost me 3 chicken baskets and two drinks!

At our last hockey game, Jim won a $50.00 gift card to Maverik.  She had to stand up with a Nitro Card (reward card) for Maverik.  They choose her!  I should have won since the card was mine!!

Then after, I came home and made 5 freezer meals for later.  I shopped for them over Christmas, and now now we have 5 meals that I can put in the crockpot before work and have ready when we get home.  They will probably be nasty.

oh success!!  here are 5 meals!!   Hope they are good!
