Marlena's New Knee

Marlena has had a bad knee for a while.  She finally decided to get it replaced with Dr. Edwards.  Lavell Edwards son.  (side note)  Anyway, so she transferred from the hospital to the Rehab hospital for a few weeks.  That left my Dad at home.  He isn't really in that great of health and condition to stay alone, and get meals and get his Cpap on at night.  So we have been trading off who is staying with him and helping him.

My night for dinner.  Tater Tot casserole.   What could be better!

making sure the CPAP is hooked up correctly

Here is the Knee.....Looking good

Update:  Marlena is now home, and we are all taking our turn sleeping over so they have someone there.  Mark takes his turn on Tuesday or Saturday nights.

Mark sent this picture and said that the swelling has gone down quite a bit....haha that is his leg...

here is a pic of  Marlena walking around after her surgery with her walker

A wrong turn....

Andrew texts me the other day when I am at a Church thing with Abi. He was in a Car accident and he wasn't hurt and it wasn't his fault.

So this is the message.  Kindof uneventful, but I just figured out how to screen shot something and upload it...learning something new every day..

So, he was going East, and the Girl was going West.  She was turning into the church and just turned right into him.  So, he swerved off the road and hit a mailbox.

This was a pic of the Geiko guy.  He was really nice...

The car was totaled. Bummer.  Glad everyone is fine, but still...we are out a car!

Golf, Golf, and Golf

The day before David, Brooke was in town from Utah State.  I got out of work fast, and decided to get in one last day of golf.  Since it was day light savings time and the days are going to be shorter...
We decided to go to Fore Lakes.  It was a beautiful fall day!  Absolutely beautiful.  Nick came along too and we got a cart...It is kindof lazy to get a cart, but the prices in the fall are a bit cheaper so it was not much more to do that!  Plus it is fun.  Well, I think they are fun.  I don't get much time to drive them as Nick thinks he is the expert driver.  He doesn't think that the rule you need to be 16 to drive the cart should apply to him.

we had a few mishaps in the water hazard.  We forgot to bring Grandpas scoop to get the balls out.

nick running while playing golf.  kindof surprised Nick ran that far.

This is really my favoite pic.

The next Saturday Abi, Andrew and I decided to go to the driving range and practice.  Abi needed to take lessons and get some new clubs before the Golf Season next year.  Well, we are finally getting around to golf lessons so we decided to hit the driving range on Saturday before Abi's golf lesson on Tuesday.  Here we are in Action.

Andrew resting.

Playing golf in the fall is the greatest.  It is absolutely beautiful outside and not hot.  The prices are cheaper, and it is a bit less stressful and casual!  I might even miss another day of work to play golf!

David Archuletta!

David Archuletta is Brooke's favorite performer!  She has been to his concert a million times...Well, he was at Tuacahan AGAIN this year in November.  So, Brooke had to go.  I got invited to go and pay.  She also went last year, but only had two tickets so I waited outside and didn't get to go.  (really it was totally fun to just hang with myself ).  However this year, I got to go.  Abi, Brooke and Maureen drove down to St George to see David.  We stayed at Crystall Inn hotel.  It was super fun.
He had a FAB concert.  He really is cute.  It was fun to be able to see him.  We had great tickets.  5th row.  We ate, shopped, slept, and saw David.  What else could we have wanted in a vacation...!

We were on Row E,  That is 5th row!

Halloween 2016

Halloween continues to be my very best holiday.  It does get less and less work as my family gets older.  I had only one at the Halloween parade at School.  Jack was a life guard.  He wore Abi's Seven Peaks uniform from the summertime and had a whistle.  It was a great idea.  The rest of them are on their own for costumes.  Nick was a football player, Abi was also a life guard since she went to the Halloween dance at the school, and Andrew borrowed Brooke's cow costume.  Not sure she would appreciate it.

I love handing out candy.  We have soo many trick or treaters that I sit out on the front stairs so the kids don't have to walk up all the stairs to the front door.  I think we had over 300.  I bought about 350 pieces and I bet we ate like 50 pieces before that.  The wierd thing is that parents trick or treat too.  Usually mexican parents.  Its soo much harder to trick or treat than just go and buy some candy.  They don't even dress up, just hold out their hand.   We only had about 10 of those.  It was a super fun night!
