Talented
I was tearing paper in two for a quiz yesterday. I took about 5 pieces of paper, folded them in half and tore them perfectly. One of my kids, Jake, a ninth grader, says 'oh you tear paper so well'. I said that I really only had two talents and tearing paper and being a fast typist are my only talents. He said 'well you have a talent for teaching.'. Totally made my whole day. Serious. I feel like I just run from one fire to another at school and I'm always coming up short and disorganized. Glad to know he thought it was good!

Football Playoffs
Nick's last year of football was great. They went to the championship game but they came up short. They played Olympus and gave it a good challenge. It was at Juan Diego on the main football field so I didn't get any pics of the game because we were too far away. But here's the team after.
This was our cheering crowd. Mark,Stella, Jack, Michelle and of course me the mother
Sad it is over Not sure what we are going to do with all our time now. I will sure miss it. Nick did such a great job this season. He works hard, listens and always attends practice. I think he missed one practice for a wedding. He improved so much. He's ready for High School next year!

Some projects
I have been working on some home improvement projects...One is some blinds for the kitchen window. I was a Lowe's in the summer and they had a clearance and had one set of blinds that would fit So bought them and they have sat for 5 months. Finally, I cut them on my miter saw. Thats pretty good since I don't really know how to use this miter saw. I had to watch a Youtube video on how to unlock the saw because I couldn't remember from the last time I used it when I cut 5 things for cub scouts.
Look how good this cut looks. You can't even tell I cut them.
Well, I cut them so well, they were too short! However there was a piece of wood screwed in already that looked like the person before me had the same problem with something. So I just used that to make the blinds work. They were for the most part easy to install, but took longer than usual. of course. But here they are. They look good until they get dusty.
I also bought a new vacuum. I have hated all my vacuums. I don't think any of them have worked very well, and if they did it was for such a short time. I got this one from Costco since my niece and my mother both have it and like it. So far, I like it.
After these projects and others I had to rest with my new bath bombs from Lee's and read my book!

Interesting Conversation
My friend, Natalie's husband says all of us from Bountiful are related and we can never move out of Davis county. I have said that about moving too. It certainly proved helpful to me.
Last week at Football, a mother who's son has been with Nick for like 6 years came over and we were chatting...she was taking pictures as she walked by. Anyway, we got chatting and I'm a teacher, and I teach with her visiting teacher, Natalie. Wow. Small Bountiful world.
I was at the Primary practice and Natalie texted that she needed to talk to me. I told her I was at the primary practice and I could call when she was home. She was just at her primary practice chatting with that same parent. Well, the parent was telling Natalie what Chili Willi had done to other parents during football. I guess he was talking a lot at football to the parents about how he graduated from UCLA in finance (or something like that) and he played football for them. He also worked for Morgan Stanley and was in the Stake Presidency. He had his own company and made T shirts and passed them out to the parents. He also played the piano for Mormon Youth Symphony. He got super good friends with a guy named Ted Peck and his dad. The two of them I think invested with Chili Willi and Chili took their money and Ran. Rumor has it that he is on the run. Well, he certainly isn't here.
She told that to Natalie and just couldn't figure things out. She said I wasn't around and we were NEVER together. She didn't even know if I knew these things. Nope I had no idea.
People are so very nice. Not telling her son so he will still be nice to my Nick. Wow. Talk about true Christlike love and just human decency. I have to wonder who else he has bothered or said things and how can I even go out in public not knowing what he has said or done to people.
This venmo comment makes me laugh because he wanted everyone to know on venmo that he got me something for our anniversary. I never got a gift.
I have looked and there is no shirt in my basement. I guess he gave them all out to promote business.

Random things
Some random things that make me happy. Here is my favorite dessert in the fridge. Look how convenient that fork is . You can just open the fridge and have a bite. NO one else currently at home is interested in it.
This is a trail that I found in Park City when I was shopping at Van Heusen. I want to go back and wander along this trail sometime when I am not alone.
These are rice krisipie treats from Disney World. Brooke's friend Ty brought them back to me when he was visiting Brooke in Florida. LOVE them. Nick also likes these so I think he ate them all.
This is cool because it is a bath bomb but in a container so you can use only some and not all. Andrew and Abi got me onto this brand of bath bombs. They now sell this at the Lee's grocery store near me. This is a fab scent.

What a gorgeous view from the trail
Halloween 2018
I LOVE Halloween ....usually. This year, I was just not having it. I bought the usual halloween candy the night before, got the Papa Murphy's pizza, and the skeleton napkins. It came time for trick or treating and it was just NOT my thing. Jack passed out candy until he left. I did take Nick to football so I didn't have to pass out candy.
Here is Abi in her costume. She is at Dixie State.
This is Brooke in her costume. She is at University of Florida. She had to spend the entire day at the zoo.
This is Abi's
This is Brookes
This is Andrews
(he didn't send me a pic but he did say he got two frogs and a centipede)
I did have some cute cards I printed off but I forgot them and had to get the pkg in the mail to receive them before Halloween. Here's to another year.

This is the halloween stuff I sent to the college kids. I have never sent them a pkg before. I must have been in the halloween spirit last week when I mailed them.

Just Keep Walking mom
Orchestra concert tonight for Nick. It was at Bountiful High. I sat in the back so I couldn't get many pics They are just like last times pics The only pictures I got were of Nick in the isle putting his cello down. He didn't cooperate. His friend said why is that lady taking pictures of me,? Nick said "I don't know, thats weird."...what? I was taking a pic of Nick
Concert was fabulous. It is like 40 minutes long. After the concert, Nick says lets go and if he stops to talk to a cute girl, I am to keep walking. Ok. He stopped to talk to a boy, so I didn't know what my instructions were, so I also kept walking.
He is getting in the car way before I even got there. THEN we go to Holiday for a drink after and a kid from football is there. Nick eagerly volunteers to go and get me my drink. I'm all about that. I asked him why he was so eager...well, its kind of embarrassing because my friends moms are not 50.

Electromagnet.
Jack had to make an electromagnet for school for his forces project. Here it is. Good thing I'm a science teacher and had all the stuff. Of course did this at 10:30 at night. Gotta get better at doing it sooner.
