Zoo Lights

Monday we decided to go to ZooLights.  Ty conveniently can get us in at just the right price.  We even got to park behind the zoo inside the security gates.  He must be super important.

After the Zoo, we had Costco Pizza and Caesar Salad.  These pics loaded up first even though we did that after the zoo.

We could write letters to Santa while waiting to see him.  Then you could mail them in the mailbox.

Abi didn't come because she was to tired from having Mono.  Jack didn't want to come.  I can't remember why he didn't want to come.  We had a great time.  Good Food and Good Company and Good Price and it was a beautiful night.  Perfect.

Abi Arrived home

Abi was not feeling well.  She said she had a sore throat and felt yuck. I happened to be with Mark so he called in an antibiotic for her in case she had strep.
She kept feeling worse and worse and finally called and said her throat was soo swollen she couldn't swallow very well.  She had to go to the Doc.  She called a few hours later and she has MONO.  He thought that she had strep first, then got the Mono.  Nothing to do but rest.

We decided to go and pick her up.  She can't drive home if she is so sick.  So, Brooke, Nick and Jack all decided to go with me.  We made it a quick road trip.  We stayed at the Abbey Inn which has the great swimming pool.  It is their mostly off season so it wasn't crowded and we had the hot tub to ourselves.

This is the only pic I took of our trip.  I always take a pic of my room number.  Michelle had a friend recommend it so when you are liquored up you can remember which room is yours. I don't need to be liquored up to forget my room!

We left after school got out for the Winter Break.  We arrived in St. George around 7:00 and went swimming.  We had the hot tub to ourselves.  Then to Cafe Rio for dinner and then more swimming.  Abi looked so tired.  We left on Saturday so we could make it home for the Family Christmas party.

So glad Abi is home to rest and recoop.  It was super fun to go and pick her up.  Love quick road trips and fun with the family even if it is just swimming and eating Cafe Rio.

Nick goes to the Christmas Dance

Nick got asked to the Christmas Dance. It was Girls choice.  He was super excited.  Here is his new shoes and pants that we hemmed (well, sort of).   Abi ordered the Corsage and I remembered to pick it up.  But a side note, the flower shop had some great jewelry that I bought while I was waiting to get it...Bonus.

Nick's looking pretty great.

Waiting for her to come to the door to pick him up...

His date was Brinn.  She was super cute.

Nick had a great time.

Mysterious Shower Curtain failure

I was in the hallway bathroom...I don't use that one much and I noticed this on the wall.

Then I noticed this on the other wall

Then I noticed this

Then I noticed this.

I asked Jack about it and his response was "ask Nick".    You have to give them credit for trying to fix it and at least using scotch tape instead of masking tape that would have given it away much sooner.  They said it was there about a week before I noticed...Not bad...

Nick's Asks to the Dance

So, Nick just got finished going to the Christmas dance and decided he better get on asking a girl to the Valentine's dance. He did get wind at school that the person he wanted to ask was getting asked later that night so he had to jump and ask.  Andrew helped him make a poster and we ran to the grocery store.  Here he is dropping it off to ask her.

Uncle Dale

My mom's brother, Dale, took a fall in November.  He ended up having surgery to fix his broken femur.  I took my mother to visit him in the hospital. He was transferred to a rehab center and we also visited.  He was transferred back to the hospital with Pneumonia then back to rehab.  Marlena called me and asked if I could take her to visit him as he was not doing well.  I cancelled my drink plans with my friend Jeff, because I couldn't go after because I had to be home to pick up my Brooke from the airport.

We arrived around 4:40 (after we asked Nick's date to the dance) and around 4:50, he died.  If i had kept my date with Jeff, and then visited my mom would have missed it.

anyway, such a sad time.  He wasn't going to recover from his fall, but it is sad to me as he was such a nice man.  He was a hard worker and kind.  It is hard for me to just watch another generation pass away.  Now I become the old people in the family and we lose connections to other relatives.  I will be the one finding the ancestor stories for my grandchildren to take on Trek...

Kindof a weird place to be.  But so glad I knew him.  His funeral was wonderful too.  What a great day.

A good quote to remember for me

Saw this quote online I'm sure. Good Advice for me.  Trust God.
