600 Lb Life - On My Way
I am 5 days out of Surgery. I have been tired. I haven't done much but lay around. I have to have people help me with everything. I can use crutches or the scooter but I can't carry anything.
People have to carry my food to me, and I think about the show 600 lb life every time someone brings me the swedish fish or some dinner or Veggie Straws (I am craving salty for some reason). I can hear the doc now saying this quote below. I can't imagine when I'm finished how bad the damage will be.
Here's Nick bringing me Lunch from Robintino's. I have wanted to eat there for a long time so since he was off today for the ACT test, I decided to put him to work. Tomorrow Nick's at school so I won't have the eating out option. He was more than willing to eat the extra 4 pieces of Garlic Bread I got at the last minute. And I wonder why I'm so close to starring on m 600 Lb life. . .
Here's the Lunch. The salad, Pizza and Garlic Bread. Nick ate the Bread and I'm eating the pizza later.
I also washed all my sheets, blankets, pillow cases. Nothing like sitting around yuck that needs to be washed.
I also washed my hair and changed my duster. Here's my new duster and pj pants. The PJ pants Andrew gave me for Christmas about 13 years ago and I found them and they are big enough to fit over my boot. And they match for the win.
I just took a two hour nap and slept through Dr. Phil and Judge Judy. I think I'm going to be crazy before this is over. I better get my application in to the 600 Lb life reality show.
Recovery Time
I LOVE to be alone. I think because I am NEVER alone. I have taken a day off from work just to stay home and be alone. AND stay in bed and watch TV. So, having this Surgery I got kindof excited about staying home. I wasn't excited for surgery but alone time....is great for me. So, Surgery was Friday. Saturday AND Sunday I had Jack and Nick here. Mark came over and Marlena did too. Which is all good. I like visitors too. Monday we went to the Doctor so that was good. Tuesday was my FIRST day to be alone. UNTIL Nick says he doesn't have school because it is ACT testing for Jrs and Sophomores and Seniors stay home. SERIOUS? ok. THEN I get a call from Mueller Park. Jack's Jr High. That is NEVER a good call.
Well, there was a fight on Friday...did I hear about it? Yes I did. It was two kids (of course) and to discourage people watching and encouraging the kids to fight, everyone that watched or video'd the fight also got suspended for TWO days. So, guess who else is home?? Jack. So, NOW it is the exact same thing as Saturday. EVERYONE here. Ugh. Oh well, I will still have Friday. And you can get I'm making them wait on me like crazy. Why couldn't the fight be next week?

I can also now ice with the boot off. Making progress. Jack is certainly being the ice getter!

Surgery Folllow up
I had my surgery follow-up appt today. Jack in the red shorts in the corner wanted to go. So, Michelle picked Jack and myself up for the Doc. He said the surgery was the worst he has ever seen. There are two tendons, Peronial Longus and Peronial Brevis. One of the tendons was just not there. He had to go and find the parts of the tendon and had to make the incision bigger. He had to sew that tendon to the other tendon and use some amnion tissue or Stem cells to hold it all together. Sounds cool and yuck at the same time. So, I'm off of it for at least 4 weeks. I thought maybe 2 or 3 but he said at least 4 if I want it to heal.
Jack was assigned to carry my purse. We were sitting in the room, and the nurse comes in and asks if we had a pink purse. Yes we do. Well its sitting out in the waiting room. Jack forgot to grab it. :)
My foot looks like my mother's foot. Who would have known I would inherit her feet. Those pj pants look like Brooke and Abi's Who would have thought I inherited my daughter's PJ pants.
But they were the only ones big enough to fit over the boot.
I have graduated to a scooter. My shoulders hurt from using the crutches. Jack put the scooter together for me and brought it upstairs and put the furry thing on. I think I will like it better. Michelle was so great to pick me up today, get my meds at Target, get a Maverick Drink, get some lunch, get some toilet paper, and refresh my Maverick drink before she had to go to work. Oh and we had to drop Jack off at School after the Doc and feed him of course. He did help me into the Doc's office. Good thing he decided to come with us. I guess a Dr visit with your mother is better than math Class.

A Repaired Tendon
I have had this ankle hurting for a long time. Since Summer probably. I did go to an outdoor concert and fell off this curb and might have caused the problem...fast forward to February 28, 2020. I went to the Doc to find out why it was hurting, expecting to wear a boot or get an injection or just a prescription for rest and physical therapy. Nope. I got a surgery date.
Here's my last day of Yoga for a while...for at least a month...Look at that nice Yoga Mat I got for Christmas. I LOVE it. I will miss it
Michelle slept over at Marlena's house on Feb 27 so we could make the call time of 6:15 AM. She said that way if she slept in, it would only be 10 minutes late instead of 25 minutes if she was at her house. So, we checked in on time and waiting for go time which was 7:30.
Peronial Tendons repair. Somehow the tendon was tearing on the inside and was thickening. One of the tendons was much worse than the Doc thought from the MRI and so he had to sew them together. You can see that thickened part above. I was in the operating room 45 minutes longer because the repair took longer than expected.
I was fitted with this lovely boot. On the right foot is some sleeve that pulsates like blood pressure cuffs that help with blood clotting. Jack thought it was cool to try that on.
EKG electrodes...I had to have an EKG before surgery due to my Atrial Fib. If I were over 60 its mandatory. I told the guy I found these elctrodes months after on my skin. He said he never left them on...well, here they are :)
A better shot of my cuff for blood clotting prevention. There are my crutches I borrowed from Gma. I did get new Rubber parts at the Walgreens for 16.00. That beats a new set of crutches that I don't want after for sure.
Jack has been very helpful. Here he is bringing me the ice packs.
Here's my nice drink from Mark yesterday. Mark also came over and brought us some Papa Murphy Pizza for dinner some night. AND took Nick and got Lunch at Betos.
Here was my dinner, Cauliflower bites. They are good but didn't get cooked enough. Bummer because they are usually really good.
And finally, here's my foot with the sock on it. Nick did that. I didn't think for one second he would put a sock on my foot. Everyone has been soo nice and helpful. :)
A Sunday Walk Plus ramblings
I was sitting in churh and it was mentioned that we needed to do the Come Follow Me Plan. I told Nick and Jack in Sacrament meeting that we were going to do it after church. Nick says that Come Follow Me is for Families with Dads. Wow. So glad to know. Now I have one less thing to worry about.
This is my new hair dew. Looks like the last hair dew...
Michelle and I have been walking around Sugar House Park on Sundays after church. It was a beautiful day and we stopped at Taco Bell After for the best drink I have had in a long time. We walked 3 laps around for 4 miles. This was our last time walking at Sugarhouse for a while because I have to have surgery on my foot at the end of this week.
I'm at the Planet this week...
My Favorite Zoo keeper is on the right.
AND a pedicure for Lois. I might have to have foot surgery so I wanted to make sure my toes looked good one last time.
