Bountiful Against Bonneville, Abi and Brody goes to Vermont

Jack played in the JV game against Bonneville. They are a team from Ogden.  Jack is #59.  He did a great job.  They lost by 4 I think.  I was watching with Grandma.

Here he is on the bottom. I was nervous that he would get a concussion again.  He did not which is good.  He had a great game, played a lot and it was beautiful weather for football.  That is my favorite part.

Peach season.  We got these up in Brigham City and they are so good.

Zeppes is now in Layton.  LOVE me some Zeppes.  That isn't my car.  I got a rental car because my Cadi had to go to the shop from the rear end accident we got in clear back in July.  They were booked and not able to get me in til now.  But this was YUM.

Abi and Brody went to Vermont and camped at Joseph Smith's home.

I hope she didn't see Joseph Smith or his brother Alvin.  Or better Yet, I hope she doesn't have to start her own church.  Think about what a daunting task that would be....Feel for Joseph.

Brooke and Ty are on a trip again.  They are on a Disney Cruse and Disney World with his family .

AND I ctually remembered to take the trash out.  Andrew has been so good at taking it out for the last year and I even remembered and hauled it to the curb.

Huey and Stuff

Chili Willy (the Kids Dad) sent this pic to Brooke.  This is his dog and his name is Huey.

I think he is kindof cute. (I also think he has a girlfriend because no old guy puts a mandana on his dog...:)  )

Jack testing out his new shoes and pants for the Home coming dance coming up soon

Brooke is in Disneyland again.  Carsland.  My favorite

AND I found these at Maverick.  They are the best.  The nail lady, Nancy was talking about them, so I had to check them out.

Some YUCK refreshments from Brookes Friends baby shower.

AND my new toes by Nancy when she was telling us about Nerds clusters.  It was overdue.  I haven't had a pedicure since I had my FIRST knee done.  I didn't think I could get in the chair.  Brooke and I went and got a great pedicure. Those are my new school shoes

I was checking out how many black short slicks, skirts, and Long slicks I have.  Maybe I need to return some of them with tags.  I think I have about 14 skirts and 6 shorts (which makes me mad because I was being conservative when I bought them and I have needed more...especially to give to Carla.  She would love a good Costco short slick) and about 12 Long slick.  I think I have a sickness for sure

Happy Birthday to Maverick.  Although this is one of my least favorite Maveriks I still like it.  Fun Fact it is also President Nelson's birthday on the same day.  I'm pretty sure he hasn't ever been in a Maverik.  I'm pretty sure he also doesn't like nice icy cold fountain drinks...

Planet Fitness got some new equipment.  Wonder when they did that since I haven't been since my knee because I have been at therapy then my meniscus started hurting on My other knee..:)

Back at the planet getting some biking in

and David is in Delta.  Seriously.  I can't imagine how many people he will perform for in Delta.  I have never seen a concert in Delta before.  If it were not on a Tuesday in Novenber and there might be snow, I would seriously consider going.  I don't want to take off two days of school.

AND my Dr appt.  Look at my leg.  I got a good report at the Dr. for my meniscus repair.  He did say Replacement is in the future.  UGH.................  I better get that before I retire for sure.

Week 4 from Omaha

Week 4 from Omaha, Nebraska

From Nicholas Clemons

What's up yall. Can't believe I've been out for a whole month already!!  We had a super busy week and handed out lots of agency. We are making really good progress out here in Bellevue. We got 3 people on date for Baptism just this week!! We also had a super fun sleep over this week with a bunch of elders for exchanges.

Monday: p day was super fun. We started by getting up and headed straight to the Missouri to go fishing. We didn't catch anything except a pretty sunrise. Sunrises are very different here compared to Utah cause the sun comes over the horizon instead of the mountains. After that we went and played basketball with like all of the missionaries in the Omaha area. My comp is like super good at basketball so my job during pick up is to just rebound and pass back to him haha. Then we got some papa Murphys and went and chilled with our zone and played volleyball. Then p day ended and we decided to go visit our friend Carlos. Carlos is really good friends with like every missionary out here and he always has food for us. He doesn't like that I say my prayers in English haha. Then we d
Helped a guy tear our a bunch of insulation for the rest of the night.

Tuesday: really funny story that happened on Tuesday. So like when your a missionary in training you get an extra hour of comp study. So during comp study we decided to listen to some talks and my and I have this joke that when you fall asleep during study time your "studying Lehis dream" and I fall asleep almost every personal study cause I'm still getting used to the schedule. Then during the talk he was out cold. Then the talk restarted for some reason and so I just went upstairs and let him sleep because he was looking kinda sick and then I joined the cottonwood elders for their social media training. Then the training ended like an hour later and my comp came upstairs and said "Lehis dream is pretty great". Ever since then I've just made fun of him for it. After that we went all the way to plattesmouth because this member lives there but goes to the Bellview ward for some reason. He's really cool though and he collects board games and so we played a few and invited him to church. I can't wait to go back cause he said he would play me in Pokémon and I've been practicing. (Our mission loves Pokémon BTW). Then we went over to one of our investigators and taught the plan of salvation and talked about baptism and invited her niece to be baptized and she said yes!!! Then like two other companionships came and spent the night at our apartment because we had exchanges the next day. It was super fun cause we just stayed up till midnight talking.

Wednesday: EXCHANGES this was my first time going on exchanges and I went with our zone leader elder Benji. He's really cool. Another cool thing we did together was drive up street contacting. Where u just drive right up to someone roll down your window and ask to share a message. We caught this one guy right before he was leaving and Gave him our message and he was really interested. He definitely was high when we taught him but I just talked to Benji about it and he said it's going really well with him. It just shows that God is preparing people for me to teach because what are the chances that I catch this random guy walking to his car at that very moment who needed to hear this message.

Thursday: right after studies we went to cathluco which is just a charity that hands out food for the poor. Its really wasy service. We just pack rice into bags for two hours. They also have a radio there so i get to listen to non gospel music for like two hours which was kinda nice. Then we taught a lesson to Darian over zoom. Darian just had a baby so we talked about eternal families and she loved it. After that we gave her the zoom link to church and she watched it on Sunday. Then we went and taught our friend Wendy again and showed her a baptism video. Then she said she was moving away from her bf and so she could get baptized!! We put her on date and hope that she and her niece can both get baptized on the same day!! Another miracle!!

Friday: was alot slower than the rest of the week. We called alot of inactive members trying to set up appointments but nobody answered. Then we went and taught brother woods who is really chill. He has cancer so it's hard for him to get to church but he went last week and this week so there's some progress. I love teaching him because he always catches me up on the latest NFL and college football news. Then we went and taught sister Johnson who has the cutest dog and just really talked about her mission. Sister Johnson is like insanely spiritual. She has like rhe coolest book of mormon pics in her house so it was cool to go over.

Saturday: we had zone conference. It was really cool cause elder Wong of the 70 showed up and he taught us how to work with member. He is not what you would expect from a 70. He makes lots of jokes and even taught how to play spikeball. Never would have though that I would witness a 70 member play spikeball against my mission president haha. After that they inspected our cars and we got oreos because our car was clean. Then we got a referral for a guy named cw. He was raised Baptist and was basically like a modern day Joseph Smith. He told us his number one question in life was which was the true church and after he said that my comp said my eyes lit up and I just started spitting doctrine. We asked him to be baptized and he said he would love too. Another miracle!! It was like the hypest lesson I've ever been apart of ( dont be offended brad).

Sunday: we went to church and then had ward council after. We were ki da disappointed because Wendy didn't show up but then halfway through ward council we got a text from the curva elders saying that Wendy was in sacrament meeting and we were so happy. The rest of the day we were just trying to find people to speak at why I believe. Which is just a big testimony meeting for recent converts. The ap's told us we had to find some more to speak because everyone had canceled on them and our area has the most baptisms in the last month. We did find somebody and the. We brought Wendy along too. The meeting was super powerful hearing how all these people came over there challenges and found God really just strengthened why I'm out here. Then we headed back down to Bellevue and played Pokémon the rest of rhe night. I know when I say I play Pokémon I sound like a need but it's like super fun and all the elders are into it. I'm getting pretty good at it but elder gines still kills me.

Well that was my week. Sadly nebraska lost this week and then fired there coach so thats kind of a rap on our season.

Hope all of you are doing amazing. Remember God loves you. I'd love to hear from some of you. Feel free to email me!!

Love elder Clemons

Missing Abi

Feeling a big nostalgic and missing my Abi tonight.  I saw this on Facebook story.

I got this text from Abi today about Science. I miss talking to her all the time about Science.  Not much better than a good science lesson about the Cell Theory.   Schleiden, Schwann, LeVanhook, Hooke and Virchow were all part of developing the idea that living things are made of cells and cells come from other cells.  Love that Abi loves talking about science as much as I do.

Bellevue, Bdubs, and birthdays

Elder Clemdawg's Weekly Email

Sep 5, 2022, 1:29 PM Subject: Bellevue, bdubs, and birthdays

I can't believe a week ago I was still in the mtc!! My first real week as a missionary went great. I'm still getting used to the humidity a little bit but other than that I think I've adjusted pretty well. Everyone down here loves college football so I just try to relate lessons to that and it works most of the time haha.

Monday: we said goodbye to the other elders which was kinda sad and then took two trains and a bus to the airport. The good thing about flying through delta as a missionary is they have like a fast tsa specifically for missionaries it was so nice. I had shake shack for the first time in the airport and it was the best thing I've tasted in weeks. Then I said goodbye to the mountains, got on the plane and flew to Omaha. We greeted by our mission presidents and the AP's. Once we got to the mission office they fed us and then took us to a hotel where we spent the night.

Tuesday: was a lot of training meetings. They just kinda set the groundwork for how the cars work. Our mission is cool cause every companionship has a car. I'm not allowed to drive for a few weeks though. Then they took us to the trail center which is just like a pioneer museum. The guy explained what happened to the pioneers and why they needed winters quarters. The temple here is small but soon pretty.

Then we had dinner at the mission home and went back to the hotel.

Wednesday: they introduced us to our comps and gave us our areas. My comp is elder greenhaulgh and he's from cedar city. I've been assigned the Bellevue area and I've loved every second of it. Everyone is so nice here and if there not interested they still are nice. We went back to our apartment where I met some of the other elders in the zone. There's two elders who live above us. One of them is named elder gines and he loves football so we talk alot of football. After that we headed straight to work. I met some of the members and taught a lesson about the restoration. Wednesday was also elder gines birthday so we got him a cake and celebrated.

Thursday: Thursday was like my first full day in the field and it was longgg. Lots of appointments and street contacting. Also on this day we played these two highschoolers in basketball while we were in our dress clothes. We balled out and beat them by like 20. I also met a member named Carlos. Carlos only got baptized a month ago but you wouldn't be able to tell. His testimony is so strong I thought he was a member his whole life. He's also really funny and feeds us everytime we go over there. Friday: most of missionary work I have found out is just showing love to everyone you Meet. Even if the person happens to vape in your face. You still show love.

Friday we had a lot of lessons. One of them we went to teach a recent convert and then we met her niece so we taught her too. Then while we were about to leave. Wendy tells us that this guy moving in is lds too. So we go and introduce ourselves and apparently he has wanted to come to church but his records didn't transfer and so he didn't know which church to go to so we gave him our contact info and were meeting with him later this week. I also met brother woods. Brother woods has cancer but his faith has not wavered since the diagnosis. We have to keep lessons short with him though cause he gets really tired.

Saturday: was pretty lit. Saturday was my birthday. It kinda sucks being on a mission on your birthday cause everyone who texted me happy birthday I couldn't respond too till today so I felt really bad. The elder took me to bdubs for dinner and it was so good. The Nebraska game just happened to be on so we watched some of that while enjoying some of the best wings ever. After dinner we went to this guy named Ron's house and he had the game on too so we watched the final quarter with him and then shared a message about eternal families and then we played catch with his two kids.

Sunday: was really rewarding cause I saw some investigators come to church. Sacrament meeting has always been one of my fav things about church because you can just feel the sprit so strongly. It was a nice reminder of why I'm out here. Then one of the elders in my district brought me a cake and it was soo good. I feel so loved out here. Well that's really all that happened this week. Hope life is well back home. Email me and update me on the latest news if you want.

I love you all and so does God

 Love elder clemdawg.

My Favorite Missionary Pic

This is my favorite pic of Nick and his mission.  Love these missionaries asleep on the couches.  They have worked so hard.  One of them even moved the footstool over so he could put his feet up.

Nothing like a tired missionary.

This is NIck on the left

This came up on menories.  Look how little we all were.  Nothing like the first of the school year to cause nostalgia

Jack against Skyline

Jack had a great game against Skyline.  He saw lots of playing time and even blocked a kick.

He is #59.  It is easier to get a picture of him when he is on the sidelines...:)

It was super hot and I sat by a super nice lady that chatted it up.  That is an advantage of going alone, people just chat with you sometimes.  You would think I would have hated it but nope.
