Spring Break 2023

Spring break 2023 is almost in the books.  It is kindof uneventful around here now that it is just Jack and myself.

It started out with Conference Weekend.  We listened to the Prophet speak a few times and the other General Authorities. I heard most of it.

This is Nick's story for encouraging people to watch and find out what we are all about.

It was Brooke's Birthday so we got pedicures (no picture)

Wonton partying it up for Brooke's Birthday.  She's 27

And Birthday Cookies where Jack works.  Cutlers Sandwiches

Then we Easter Shopped

Jack stayed with McKenna for a few days.  Here he is sleeping at Michelle's house when I picked him up.

Decided to go to a Movie at the last minute.  We saw Air.  It was opening day which I didn't know but it was about Nike and how they signed Michael Jordan for the Air Jordan line  It had my favorite Matt Damon in it and also Justin Bateman.  Fab.

Brooke and I got a facial.  This is our facial lady who we love so much.  Then....

The Dog Easter Hunt.

The best part of the Easter Egg Hunt is a lady gave me these brochures about their Church.  I immediately thought of Nick and how he has to randomly talk to people on the mission.  And how she feels about her church like we do about ours.

Then we celebrated Easter.  We stepped it up and had an Easter Egg hunt.  This time it is for humans.

Ty finding all the eggs

Brooke hwo just got out of that tree to find an egg

Brooke in the tree ...kindof difficult to see.  Reminds me of when my dad fell off Kimball's porch in the bushes

Paula and Jack

McCall, Blake, Marti, Callen, Micaela

Dinner spread other than the pasta from Buca De Peppe

Such a great Egg Hunt and Easter Dinner and party.

Such a beautiful day after our horrible snow we have had that I opened my sun roof in the cadi.

Can't wait for Spring.

This is ty.

And now off to work tomorrow.  Spring Break in the books for 2023

Easter Egg Hunt - for Dogs

Brooke and I got finished with our facial and she invited me to go to the Dog Easter Egg Hunt at Wheeler Farm.  It was 20.00 for Dogs but free to observers.  It was actually a beautiful day.  It was sunny and after all the snow we have had, it was fun to walk around and be outside.

Ton was great at Easter Egg Hunting

He was well behaved and got all six of his eggs

We were with Luna, Cooper, Navy and Wonton.  The Egg Hunt was in the snow since we have had record snow this year.

Here's all the dogs and owners

Mitchell and Luna, and Brooke and Wonton

The lighting was super bad because it was at 5:00 at night and the sun cast a shadow.  But it was actually pretty fun and some good people watching.

And They are finished

2022 Taxes are in the books.  Yay.  Used my trusty Turbo Tax.

Finished signed and delivered.  I stayed up late finishing up Abi and Brody's.  They had two states to file.  Utah and Massachusets.  So I e-filed both of them because if I needed help, I was running out of time.  AND about 10 minutes later, I got this message

YAY BOTH States and Federal were accepted!  Yay and they are getting a refund.

THEN I did my taxes, and I am also getting a refund.  I e-filed and got this  message also.

I didn't efile state because it costs $25.00 so I printed and mailed them in snail mail.  That cost .55 for the stamp.  I also filed Nick's and he is only getting back 99.00 from state.  None from Federal so I also mailed BOTH of his.  NO efile for 25.00.

Jack isn't getting any back so didn't file for him.

AND I also have three Federal Turbo tax e-files left.  Andrew is going to use one.  Sent him the codes for download which said someone had already downloaded it.  So I sent him the tax file and it worked!  yay.  He was able to e-file also.  He did email me his state taxes so I could print and snail mail those for him.  And write a check for him because he doesn't have checks.   Good thing I'm still old fashioned and have a check book.  :)

It is always a good feeling when you finish your taxes and get them accepted AND get a refund.  (and it is before April 15 deadline)

AND to add, Abi got her Federal Tax refund deposited in her acct yesterday.  That means it was a little more than a week for deposit.

Abi

Abi and Brody live in Boston, Massachustts.  Abi is in Physical Assistance school.  She is rocking it.  I am missing them.

They went to the Basketball game against the Jazz.

LOVE this pic of my Abi.

AND look how cute they are.

Happy Birthday to Brody.  He's so cute too.  Glad he married my Abi.  He treats her so well and is kind to her. Plus he works so hard at this job at the Lulu lemon.

Can't wait to see them in August.  Although it is a long way away!

Elder Nicholas Clemons

Nick is serving a mission and he posts stuff to his story.  I love that.  Here's his invitation for General Conference.  I watched it and it was Fabulous.  I love that he Loves being a Missionary.

I can just tell he LOVES what he is doing.  Look at that cute face I miss all the time.  It is so quiet around the house without him.  There is no one to fight with jack but me.  We don't have as many maverick drinks around or as many broccoli pkgs from Walmart as we use to.  Happy he is doing what he loves and what he wants to do and he is thriving.

Sunday - Brooke turns 27

Sunday started with Breakfast at The Original Pancake House for Brooke's Birthday.  Jack and I  met the Ty and the Brooke there.  It was pretty good.  I haven't been there for 39 years.  The last time I was there I was in New Jersey at the Stone Harbor Beach.  AND that dang TY got the bill before I did.  He makes me so mad sometimes.  He is very kind and nice though.  AND he loves my Brooke so much.

I didn't get any pictures...

Then we went to Michelle's house to pass off Jack to McKenna.  Of course I had to Hold her new baby Theo.  And I didn't get any pictures of my THEO.

I did get a picture of Jack sleeping.

I also got a picture of my B Davis. The dog I tend sometimes.  She's old and likes to stay in her bed.

The day started out at the Planet.  Such a great way to start the day.  It was conference weekend so I had extra time so I could go to the gym.  I didn't have to lead the singing or play the piano for the primary.

Here's the Wonton for Brooke's Birthday!  He looks so cute.  He needs a live sibling...

My Brooke is the most fun, cutest, kindest, funniest, greatest thing ever. I would be lost without her.

Week 33. Conference!!

What's good homies! Hope all of you had a Supa hot fire 🔥  Conference weekend!! I thought this conference was sooo good!!! This was the first week of the transfer and elder Dennis and I put in some work!!

Tuesday: district p day!!! Our district went bowling and surprise surprise I beat everyone in the district 💪! So grateful God is good and blessed me with the insane ability to win at bowling

Wednesday: elder Dennis and I went off and were able to set baptismal dates for 3 of our friends and found our home boy Emmanuel as well! Emmanuel is such a chill guy and basically told us he was catholic but didn't believe in the catholic church anymore. So it was lit

Thursday: we did a lot of service. First we helped this homie move in to his new place and then we helped a member clean up his yard. Service on the mission is weird because it's the first time in my life I've actually liked doing yard work.

Friday: we got to go give one of the members who lives in carni Nebraska a blessing in the hospital. He was super chill. The Omaha hospital is a maze though so it took is like an hour just to even find the man. We were also able to meet with our Bob price. Bob has a bunch of weights in his yard and will only let us talk to him if we're all working out. So I got to teach and lift at the same time. So baller!!

Saturday and Sunday: both days we didn't do much besides watch conference and help move some more people in and out of our branch. I did love the talk especially elders Braggs talk about spiritual poise. I thought that was the best one!!

This week was super dope and I just love being a missionary. It's so cool to just talk to ppl about the gospel (Even though I don't know what I'm doing all the time haha). People here in Nebraska can be a little hard hearted sometimes but I know eventually they will listen to the spirit. I've almost been out here 8 months which is so crazy. Felt like yesterday I was saying bye to my family at the mtc. Well that was my week and remember God is good and he loves all of you!! Have a great week and stay safe!!

Hangin with my Jimbob

Today was the first day of Spring Break.  Well, it is a Saturday, but I don't have to go back to work until next monday.  Started the day at the Planet.  Did some biking and some hydromassaging.  Came home and watched Conference while I did the dishes and sat there...Jack even came and talked to me before he went to work.

Jimbob came to hang out with me today for a while.  We got a pedicure. Fun fact, it was one of the best pedicures we have had.  They were not busy and I also got my nails done.  I felt bad they weren't busy to I added on the nails and Jim added on the Eyebrow wax.  Everyone needs a good eyebrow wax.

Then we went to the Costco.  We returned about 10 sets of biker shorts we bought online (some for me, Brooke, Carla, Jesse - they are our best biker shorts) and then shopped.  We soon realized that we needed to get to Cutlers for some cookies before Jack left work. He really likes it when we come to see him at work.  I only spent 30.00 at Costco that's how fast we had to leave to get there in time.

We bought 6 and this is what we had left...Although it is 3.5 cookies.  Not too bad for two people that have a serious sweet tooth.  Those glazed sugar cookies are the best.  We love them.

The off to Target to get our Easter stuff for Nick.  We got candy and some easter grass.

That easter grass was 3.00.  I couldn't believe it. I thought it was just .99. Nope I didn't put it back because it takes too long for them to come over for Self checkout.  Then to the post office to put together Nick an Easter Box.  Brooke wrote him a cool note but I didn't get a pic of it.

Drove around looking at some cool houses in West Bountiful that were cool.

Had such a great day with my Jim.  She's turning 27 tomorrow.  Wow.  27 years of being a mom.  My absolute favorite thing.
