Jack Homecoming Last one

Jack went to Homecoming. He is a Senior so it is his last one. The last one for the Clemons family.  Everything Jack does this year is the last one.

That's al the pics I got.  He looks so handsome,  He didn't want to wear his suit.  I don't have any other pics of him or the dance so maybe I will get some and can post then.

Here's the Corsage he got.  I think it is pretty.  He did good.

I was home alone that night. First time in a while I was alone.

Fettucine for the win

Then I needed these.  I just bought them.

And of course this.  Dateline as super great.  I also watched some Match Game on Youtube.

Love to be home alone sometimes

2023 Challenge

Here's my chart for the 2023 chart of getting rid of stuff.  I hit the 1000 items mark.  I haven't been decluttering much but slowly I get some stuff thrown away.

I still have this page to go before December 31.

I have never gotten rid of the entire amount in one year but I have been doing this for a while so I probably have gotten rid of plenty.

Brooke, Andrew ad Ton

Pic of Jack and some girls

Steve, oh I mean Ty at Scheels with the Ton.  (Steve is his dad..)

I think the Ton looks so excited to get some new shoes.

Yes, I walked at Nibley

Andrew decided we needed to golf at the Nibley Golf Course.  I haven't golfed at Nibley for 30 years.  Andrew says everything I ever did was 30 years ago.  Yep.

Anyway. it was a beautiful Fall day and Andrew and I decided to walk.  Haven't walked a golf course for 30 years either.

Jack giving some advice to Andrew

Here's my new pull cart.  I wanted to try it out actually but Andrew decided to use it since he had NO faith that I would actually walk the whole course (9 holes)  and the other pull cart that is 30 years old would fit in the golf cart Jack was riding in easier if I decided to ride.

That's my clubs in the old pull cart that actually works ok but doesn't have a drink holder....

Jack cleaning his golf ball

So I did rest on the benches at the tee box when I waited for them to tee off and while we waited for the people in front of us.  But I survived and might even walk again sometime...

Crazy week - Nick's email from Omaha

What's good everyone! I'm currently waiting for the other elders to get to the church so I can smack em in basketball but while I wait I'll write an email I guess (shout out elder Val)

 Highlights

• went to Texas roadhouse after zone conference this week and I got sit next to my buddy elder gines always nice to see him

•elder hopkins: "you can't flirt with them just to get a return appointment"

Me: "I don't think I was flirting and if I was then it worked because we're going back next Thursday"

 • we've been hitting the aparment building hard in our area and we found this homie David. He said he would like to be baptized! God's good!

 - another one of our homies brad said he wanted to be baptized so that's fire

 - my twin Dustin and I had a civil discussion over the word of wisdom. He said he would try it in hour 2 of the discussion

-Our boy jeremy pulled up to church and bore his testimony!!! It was fire!!

-this inactive we've been working with finally came to church! I've been working with him since I got here in July so it was so nice to see him walk in

 - some dude told me he wanted to save me from the book of mormon this week.

 Zone Conference

Zone Conference was so sweet this week. President Bailey is so loving and you can tell he genuinely cares about us. We talked about general conference and it super cool to hear everyone's insights.

I've been working on my testimony of the book of mormon recently and I learned this week that if you view the book of mormon even from a logical perspective it makes sense. There is no way a 14 year old farm boy made up what's in the book of mormon. I know it's the word of God and that the book of mormon helps us become better people. Remember that if your going through a hard time. The book of mormon is always there and is so is the holy spirit to comfort us.

Hope yall had a great week and I hope I can hear from some of yall! Have a great week!

Ton and Glasses and Golf and Red Lobster

Here's the Wonton getting ready for the Eclipse with his glasses.  Not a fan of the chin strap I suppose.  He's a good sport

Friday I snuck out of work early.  I have my prep period last so I snuck out and met Andrew at Lakeside Golf Course.  As I was entering a door by the cafe, a door I usually don't go in but knew it was close to the bathroom so I could change my clothes...and I heart this "Mrs Clemons"  and it was former student Brock Simmons.  He came from my favorite family.  I have had all the kids.

I said hey "Brock can you by chance get two of us out?  He stopped working and said "Let's go see".  So he walked in the clubhouse with me and asked them.  Sure enough they could get us out the back.  So fab.  WE hurried and were playing in about 15 minutes.

Sent this picture to Mark and had him guess where we are.  Yep we were on the Par 3 looking up to Hole 10.

Andrew was using his new driver.  He wanted to try it out.  It sure sounds good.

Thanks to Brock we had a great fall afternoon playing some golf.

Then I went to the Red Lobster with my bff's Lynne and Jenn.  Yep I got the crab.  300
Calories the menu said.

And I found this.  Yep got the cheesecake to go.  Love the Lobster and more than lobster, I love partying with my buds.  We didn't take a picture because we don't need to keep track of our weight progress.  Just fun and crab.

Lockdown and Lawn Mow

Wednesday I was in my classroom during my prep and it was around 2:30.  Announcement comes over that we are in Lockdown situation.  Ok, I knew this wasn't  drill.  We never have drills at 2:30 pm.  I did what we were trained to do and locked the door, lights out and out of sight.  I sat in the dark alone for a bit.  I texted my friend Natalie and this is what she sent me. This was the front of our school.

She said she thought the commotion was in the basement.   Anyway about 3:15 the policeman entered my class and cleared me.  He said to stay in there locked until the announcement.  Can do for sure.
Around 3:30 the annuncement came to release the students and we could go home.
So the scuttle is that a student had a cell phone usng the gun shot app in the hallway and a girl heard it and called 911.  The Police got there before we called for a lockdown.  Crazy day and we don't know who it was and for sure the details.  It was a bit unsetting but I was impressed that we knew exactly what to do.  We have practiced so many times.

Saw this picture and am missing my Nick.

Brooke mowing gradma's lawn.  She borrowed the Velour sweat jacket and the rain hat was in the pocket.  Conveniently it was raining so she didn't get her hair wet.  I think shes also wearing the Lawn mowing shoes so she doesn't get her shoes all green.  Great idea.

Golf Trip to Moab & Monticello

Took Friday off and went on a golf trip to Moab.  We left early and was on the golf course by sbout 1:00 pm.

The Leaves in Spanish Fork Canyon were fabulous.  Better than I have ever seen.  Leaves probably better when you take the day off...:)

I brought a treat for the golf course.  My dad loved these.  This is a new one with Peanut Butter.  It as so great.

That is my friend Sandra

Great time.  Moab was a beautiful course with a dumpy club house.  But they did have good food for lunch.

Saturday we played in Monticello at the Hide Out.

That is Frank

Sandra and Ted

Montiello was a great course.  You would never think such a great course would be in such a small town as Monticello.  There was like 3 people on the course with us and it was a Saturday.  Great day.  I only lost two balls.

Drove by the Monticello Temple.  It is a smaller temple but larger than I thought.  It is like in a neighborhood next to the school.  It is really beautiful.  It is hard to believe that they have enough people to work in the temple or even attend in such a low populated area.

Jack played two LAX games while I was gone.  Brooke and Andrew went and watched.

He took a pretty good hit to the head and got taken out.  He went back in and scored with a short stick.  He must have borrowed one from someone.  Video of him scoring

Conference week! - Nick's email from Omaha

Yo what's good everyone! Hope yall had a great conference weekend!! If you guys didn't get the chance to watch conference go rewatch it because it was so spiritually uplifting and built my up my testimony so much!

This week because of conference we were on the grind because we wanted as many people as possible to watch so I litteraly invited everyone in our area book and talked about it during every lesson or street contact we had this week.

I don't remember a lot of what happened so I'll just go through the highlights.

We put Daniel and Wanda back on date for October 15th. Daniel has such a desire to be baptized and is finally sober ðŸª…

Wednesday we contacted this person walking her dog. She said we could share a message if we walked with her. After about 2 miles of walking and answering questions she agreed to read the book of mormon! Small miracle!

After that we drove up and had a lesson with Bill. Bill is a huge packers fan so I get all my updates about the packers from him. We talked for 1 hour about how he has been to Green Bay and watched a bunch of packers game. After that I compared Jordan love (packers quarterback) to president Nelson and he agreed to watch conference

Thursday we were knocking this aparment complex and everyone was saying no or yelling at us. Then the very last door we knocked this guy named Brad and his friend Shawn said we could share a message. We shared the message and brad said he would read. Then he talked about Alabama football for 40 mins and man do I love football. Don't take watching it for granted.

Saturday and Sunday was just us watching Conference and calling our friends to see if they watched. It was a great conference. I definitely got a lot of stuff I need to work on but I know it's all possible through the Atonement of Jesus christ. I love having a living Prophet on the earth today!

Well this week was kinda lame. Not a lot happened besides conference. Hope yall had a good week. Remember I love you, God loves and especially remember what Jesus did for ya!

Think celestial!
