Getting Ready for Nick

Saw this on his messenger.  Guess he is ready to go

Got the letter that Nick is arriving home on August 18.  Yep the first day of school for me.  I talked to my principal and yes I'll be there to pick him up.  I scheduled my favorite Sub too.

We have been getting ready for a while.

We got him a new bed, and I cleaned up my stuff that has been in his room for the past 2 years.

Brooke had Lindsay's kids make posters for him.  That is Carter

Brooke made an announcement paper for him.  Notice the Axe :)   Grandma didn't like the Clemdawg part.  She didn't think it was good.  But Andrew pointed out that that we aren't even suppose to have a shindig after the meeting.  Grandma didn't believe him.  Yep thats true the Prophet said to not do a get together after the meeting.  (Long time ago)

Nick in his last few days getting my favorite ice cream at the convenience store

I checked out grandma's back yard for shade.  Yes we are good on Shade at 1:00 for Nick's social after he speaks.

Gotta move the BBQ though

Andrew killing a wasp nest the size of a grapefruit in the rose bush at grandma's.  He is super afraid of wasps.

We got another car and we scheduled his dental and Neurology appt.  Whew we are ready.

We headed to the airport at 8:00 am for his 10:00 am arrival.  We can't be too early.  We didn't even get a handicapped parking for the grandma.  She had to walk.

Brooke is getting the Wonton ready to head into the airport.  Fun fact (I think) the airport is dog friendly.

Here we are waiting for Nick in the waiting area for passengers.

The Ton is ready to see Nick

Jack even missed work

Those are the doors the missionary will come through and turn to the left to greet the family in the waiting area.  There is a guy on the other side telling the missionaries to enter through that door.

Those are the posters Lynsays kids made for Nick.

Marti and Jack and Brooke are waiting for Nick to come throgh those doors...

He is HOME!

Back to school

This is our Back to School photo for Public School for 2024-2025 school year.

We have NO more in K-12 school.  No more calls for missing school, no more Lax at the High School, no more Fees or nasty emails or calls from the Admin.  I will miss it. I deleted the App for looking at grades and attendance.  We are finished with an Era.

I have started my 31 year in Education.  When I started I never thought I would have lasted 31 years.  I thought I would quit and be rich and take trips to Disneyland.  Nope so here's to like 10 more years!

2 years:) - NIck's final letter from Omaha

Welcome to my final letter of my mission.

These last 2 years have taught me so much and I'm so glad I decided to come on a mission. It's been a blessing being able to find and teach God's children about Jesus christ. Thank you everyone for all the prayers and emails. It's helped me a lot!

My homecoming will be August 18th at noon and the address for the church is 875 west Foxboro drive North Salt Lake, Utah

Everyone is welcome to come!! Hope you all are doing well and I'm excited to see you all soon!

Much love!

All Accounted for and Well

I received this email today.

 Thursday, 1 August 2024

Dear Parents, Family Members, Leaders and Missionaries,

We want each of you to know that everyone here in the Omaha Nebraska Mission has been accounted for, and all are safe after yesterday's severe weather.  Lots of trees are down, many power outages were reported and power companies are out in force assessing and repairing damages.  We are happy to report no injuries.  We have been closely watched over and blessed.

Communications are patchy... probably due to cell tower damages.  So we hope this communication reaches everyone to let you know your loved ones are doing well.

Most Gratefully,

President Kerry and Sister Bonnie Callaway

I sent Nick a message that I was glad he was safe.  He said he didn't even see a Tornado.

A few weeks ago I got this email.  It means Nick is on his way home  August 15.  Can't Wait.

Bear Lake 2024

Another year at the Bear Lake.  Such a great trip.  We spent all day at the beach and love every minute of it.  We had the same menu as last year.  We are so predictable.

McCall and Liam.  Look at the beautiful color of the water

Ty and Brooke

Mitchell told me to take this pic

Those are Jack's new water shoes.  Gotta have them

My favorite Jimmy

I didn't take many pictures.  But super fun and can't want to go again.

Fireworks and the Tab Choir

We got back from Bear Lake and it was the Bountiful Fireworks for the Pioneer day celebration.  They were on the 20 to celebrate the 24th of July.  So stupid and crazy.  Andrew and I went over to grandma's house to watch them in the front yard.  Usually we have a BBQ and the whole family comes.  But we just got back that day and people were tired.

McCall and Kristen came also with their dog Cota.  Here's the pics I took.  I shouldn't have even bothered.  I'm getting worse at taking pictures lately because I wonder why we need a pic of everything we do.

The next day, my friend Lynne asked me if I wanted to go to the Mo Tab broadcsst with her because it was the patriotic one.  Sure I did.  She is my last minute cultural function friend.

I don't think it was the patriotic one since they didn't sing anything patriotic.  But it was still great.  I ike the Mo Tab better than I use to.  I think it is an old people thing.

This was our elevator we came out of and had trouble finding them when we left.
Good thing I took a pic of it.

I was able to make it back to church in time and lead the singing.
