Judge Judy

My favorite thing to watch on TV is Judge Judy.  It is a court show in which real people come to court.  It is on like at 12:30 weekdays.  I can only see it when I am off of school.  I love to watch her because it makes you feel soo much better about your life.  People are coming to court because they are having disputes that usually involve rent, or loaning money or damaging property.
The quality of people on the show is amazing.  They usualy don't have jobs and one guy actually had 10 chidlren with 10 women....What?  Really  ???  AND lots of the court cases involve alcohol.  When I stay home from school I love to get Panda Express and watch her.  She is sassy, and rude and very straight forward.  Love her.  I got to watch her today so my whole Christmas Holiday was made!!

Food Bank

The Monday before Christmas for a few years we have been volunteering at the Food Bank.  We go and sort food into boxes.  Not sure how it gets to the people who need it, but we take the food from HUGE boxes I think from donations and then sort it in categories.  Its really kindof a fun thing to do.  We feel soo good about ourselves with our one volunteer time....After, we gather in a circle and sing "koom ba ya'.  Thats thanks to Jan Western who is in charge of that portion of the day.

Christmas Card 2015

Here is our Christmas Card for this year.  We took our pictures before Thanksgiving and Brooke sends them to Costco for a card.  I think this is just the best.  So glad that Brooke makes us do this the past few years.  Love them.

We ordered 50 of them (flattery I know) thinking who on Earth would we send them to?  Well, I have found about 40 people to send them whether they like it or not!  Hard to believe!

Christmas Cruise 2015

We introduced Mark and Paula's family to our Christmas Cruise on the Provo River.  You show up, and hang around the fire and have a hot chocolate and watch some movie if you want.  No heated garage though....(per the Polar Express...) then you board your boat.  About 44 people per boat.  THEN they have a rope strung up hanging over the river and the boat captain PULLS you along these ropes. You look at Christmas lights as you are pulled on the river.  You go up about half a mile, then turn around.  on the way back, Santa Clause comes out in a canoe to your boat saying he lost his reindeer somewhere...and gives you some candy.  Its kindof stupid but fun at the same time.  Then we had dinner at Wendys.  Still the last time we went was my favorite.  The river guide said he wanted to share a special song with us as we passed the statue of Jesus.  (On the first part of the cruise has lights for santa, and stuff.  The second half has lights about Jesus, and the manger.  Anyway, we were on the Jesus part and he was sharing this special song with us...."Grandma got ran over by a reindeer...'  Oh, thats the wrong one he says...soo funny....(it was not on purpose)  anyway, we didn't get a special song this year at all.  Jack wasn't in the picture cuz he didn't want to,  He was there...

Contacts and Student of the Week

Andrew had a check up at the eye dr.  It has been 2 years since we have been in.  We saw a different doc this time (who is helping out in the surgeons office) who specializes in contact lenses.  He asked if we would be interested in them, and actually, Andrew is interested  for sports.  We decided to travel to Riverton to his other office to see.  Low and behold he was able to fit him.  Andrew is the proud owner of contact lenses.  We only had to pay another $85 for a fitting fee, and the next appt we will buy a year supply of contact lenses for about $220.  He can actually wear them, unlike when we got the hard contacts a few years ago.  Now he can see the ball when he plays football, or Le Cross or wrestling or driving or just sitting around...

Jack was suppose to be Student of the Week last week.  So we made a poster for it.  Jack actually was interested in making his poster himself.  I printed the pictures, and he choose what he wanted, and glued them on, and wrote his name on the top in pencil.  I asked him if he wanted to write it in marker, and he said no, everyone can see it already.  Okay.  Then next to each picture he wrote, 'me getting a touchdown', 'me getting the onside kick', 'me running the ball'.  He wrote each by hand with a pencil.  Exactly how he wanted it.  I think thats what a 4th grade Student of the Month poster should be.  Exactly how the Student wants it.  He took his poster to school and he is really next week, so he is keeping it in his locker til then.  yahoo, we are finished with that!

Jack writing on his poster

This is Brooke and Abi while we made the poster.  Sometimes they are soo involved with their phones that no one else matters.

A wrestler

Andrew has been going to wrestling practice.  Not that he loves wrestling, but he wants to stay in shape for Football next year.  There was a wrestling match.  Abi and I went and watched him.  It was much better to watch High School wrestling than Junior High.  It seemed to go much faster, and no one got a broken arm.   He did not wrestle.  He didn't have a match.  Bummer.  He looks good though

Can the Lord count on me?

I have been thinking a lot lately...wierd.  about if the Lord can count on me.  Not sure why, but everyone knows those people that will do whatever and whenever someone asks them to do something they are there.  No questions, just there.  I am just not that person.  I am sort of a maybe person...let me think about it...who is it for...are they wierd.... will I feel wierd....are they scummy....are they in the apartments....really no one asks me to help in our ward...however it still makes me think.  Last night we were at Temple Square and I was sitting in the Visitors Center and looking at these life size pictures of 4 missionaries.  They are certainly someone the Lord can count on.  They were so cute.  So filled with the Light of Christ.  So happy.  Wierd for me to be thinking of that...I must have been thinking of the Primary song that says "the Lord can depend on me".  for my version it would say 'The Lord might be able to depend on me...".  Not a great way to be...
