Christmas Tree and update on Goal

It is like Dec 12 and we don't have a tree.  I can't get anyone to go with me.  So, I went alone and got the smallest tree I could and one that I could carry myself.  I got one at Home Depot for 29.00.  I had to spend 39 last year so I'm thrilled.  I hauled it to the car and in the house myself. I also put it in the stand myself.  I'm sure I will have to decorate it myself too.

Just put the lights on the tree and it is dec 19.  No one is even the slightest bit interested in helping me with the tree.  NO one went with me or will even put an ornament on it.  So, here's our tree.  Thats it.

These are the only decorations that I have put up.  I would really rather be painting that room than putting up Christmas HUD.

I took the day off for Christmas stuff and this is my Christmas mess.

I also made some popcorn balls to send to Brooke.  They were pretty good.  I haven't made them for a while.  I even popped the corn in a pan.

I also organized my pantry.  I know it doesn't look much better, but it really is.  I washed all the towels lining the shelves and threw away a bunch of junk that was old.  I still have 800 things for my 2018 goal of getting rid of 2018 things.  I added to that number.

I am also cruising along in in my goal of reading the Book of Mormon by the end of the year.  I'm only 5 days behind instead of 14.  I discovered I could listen to it in the car so I caught up on Saturday when I was out Christmas shopping.  I really didn't think I would catch up that far. I have started to kindof enjoy reading it somewhere in Alma.

Signed and Delivered

I filed the last of the divorce papers!  If you are divorcing with Minor children both parties have to complete a divorce education class and a parenting class.  I have done it, and I have been waiting for him to do the classes. I was about to fill out a waiver to ask the judge to waive it, but it puts off the process longer and we could have to go to a hearing.   I was all ready to file it on a Friday, but I had to get some paperwork notarized.  No one was at the bank for about 45 minutes who could do that, then it was too late.  So, I had to wait until Monday.  And What happens on Monday?  Chili Willi sends me his certificates of completion of the classes!!!  Who would have thought?

I took them over along with my notary paperwork AND the final paperwork.  I also sent his copy to his last known address.  I don't know where he is.  The court clerk said I could mail it to his last known address.  Which is his sisters house.  So thats what I did.

I took pics of what I mailed...I had to sign something that I mailed it, so that's what I do since I follow rules.  I don't have to prove it, but here it is.  The Clerk said we had to wait 10 days for him to respond...respond to what?  And then it goes to the judge and we wait for that.  If the Judge will sign off, then its done.  The Clerk thought it might be signed off before the End of the year.  I should be able to file taxes Single....

Blessed

So today in hustle and bustle of my day off I took for Christmas preparations I got the mail.  I don't usually get it very much but I was expecting a pkg for Christmas.

I got this letter addressed to me and no return address.  I opened it and found this.

Not sure why it is upside down, but you can see that someone sent me $200 cash.  NO return address and post marked SLC.  I have NO idea who it is.  People are so nice.  Who does that?  Sends money to crusty old me.  I am amazed at how kind people are.  It was super nice.

Furniture

One of my favorite phrases is, I can't because RC Willey is coming today.  Well, today was the day.  I couldn't go to work because they were coming.

Here is the before...don't look at the decorations.  I know its not Thanksgiving anymore.

                                                                 AND after.

LOVE.  Its about time.  There has not been a couch in that room since last summer when we got the carpet.  Probably a year and a half.  So nice to have something decent for a change.  At least for a while.  Now to paint and throw the decorations out and get some new.  Can't wait.

My neighbor

So a year or so ago, I had 5 cars.  It was a problem parking them.  We could park on the street most of the time.  Although I hate it when people park all over the street...Anyway, so Chili willi parks behind a car in the driveway.  So, this is his silver car in the picture.  Compliments of my neighbor.  It was Chili parking there, and the cars in the house two next to me...

Fast forward to yesterday.  This is the neighbor that posted chili's car on Facebook.  Here is his driveway....Wondering if I should post this about him.

Then I'm reminded of my dad and what he said when Michelle was having trouble with her neighbor...."why don't you try to out nice them..."....UGH....

Random Saturday Thoughts

Abi came last Sunday to visit from Dixie.  She was going the Fireside on Sunday at Temple Square. and got a ride with Rowdy.  They came to primary where I was playing the piano and she tended that baby.  They came to dinner for about 30 minutes then went to the fireside and then home.  It was super fun to see them even for a little while.

Rowdy is from Panguich and actually goes to SUU in Cedar City.  He is a friend of Andrew's and met Abi at a party or something like that.  I guess they have been seeing each other since then.

I liked him.

Speaking of Andrew, here he is with his buds. I think it is Goose and Nawa.  I met them when I went to Mr. SUU stuff a few weekends ago.

I was thinking of doing this for Christmas.  This Ugly Sweater Kit from Trader Joe's.  Hey we have never done that so it would be different...

I think I will make mine like this.

I got this love note at school the other day.  We are suppose to write nice things to people and put them in their box.  I got this one.  I'm always so concerned about being the fattest at school.  As people retire or quit, I move up the ladder to the fattest.  I use to be 5th fattest, now up to 3rd or probably 2nd...I got this note.  LOVE it.  Makes me smile!

Feeling Connected...or disconnected

Tonight I am sitting here in bed, doing my Book of Mormon reading for my challenge...

Here is what I have near me.

                                                    Brand New Smart TV

Lap top

                                                                                Ipad

Smart Apple Phone

I really don't have any money but have all these electronics.  Nor do I know how to use most of their features.  I think how connected I feel, and yet, it is kindof a disconnected feeling too. Not sure which one I would want to live without.  My computer is on the fritz and I think I will replace it as soon as it dies completely.  You would think  am super smart to have all these devices..

Old and New

It seems that after so long of having nothing, one has to replace some things.  I have had to replace my dishwasher, my transmission, my Vacuum, all the knobs on my stove and now my TV.  This is just in the last while.  Here is the TV I have been using.  I think it is form 1976.  It worked great for a LONG time.  .  I am not sure where I got it, it was either from the DI or from Marti.  He did give me a TV or two once upon a time.  But it has been at least 20 years with this TV.  It finally gave up the ghost.   I'm surprised that it didn't fall off and kill someone it was so heavy.

So I bought me a birthday present.  A new TV.  It is like a 36 inch and is a Smart TV.  I was only going to get the 24 inch, but hey why get the small one.  If I got the size bigger it was Smart.

I had it for  about a week before I set it up because I was afraid I wasn't smart enough to do it.  Well, low and behold I WAS smart enough.  I hooked up the old fashioned antenna since I don't have cable, and searched for the channels.  I even set up the correct time zone.  Problem came was I had to set up the internet connection.  I EVEN did that and remembered the WIFI password.  I'm surprised I even had the password.  I tested out Netflix and I did set it  up correctly.  I can't wait to watch something on it.   Nick was the one to watch it the most today and he said it was a sweet TV with Netflix and Youtube.  LOVE It.  It is like getting a new pair of tennis shoes.  I should have gotten it much sooner.

That is the new one I bought after they all broke.  I haven't had money to replace them, so we just switched one around.  However, I broke that one so we had NONE.  I bought some at Lowe's but they didn't work.  I ordered one from Amazon and it was 8.99.  I need four...

Went to Lee's today and here is my favorite display.  I LOVE all of these. I have tried most of them, the blue, orange, pink and black.  I love them all the same.

AND here are one of my favorite cookies.  They are easy and not very fattening.

Here I am showing Abi that I ate them for breakfast.  Lovely.
