Eaglewood for Jack

Jack has been working all summer at the Eaglewood Golf Course.  He gets up at 5:00 am and is there raking sand traps or cleaning out ponds by 5:30 am.  I am impressed with him.  He has gone every day except for one and he was throwing up.  I do think he could have gone but he didn't go.

I took him breakfast from McDonalds for him and his co worker.  This is the best pic that he would give me.  Not sure why they were wearing sweats cuz it was hot.  but it was only 8:30 am.

I saw this bag of stuff on the kitchen counter. Jack takes with him about 8 granola bars, 5 fruit roll ups and a ziploc bag of goldfish.  He has it all ready the night before.   I suggest that he take some Uncrustables that are frozen.  Then around lunchtime, they wouldn't be frozen and might not be too hot to eat.  He liked that idea.

I saw this the next day.  He didn't want to forget his snacks.  They were on top of the car.

He  comes home every day and eats and then naps and then goes out to play golf somewhere.  Eaglewood is the best place to play since it is free if you work there.  It is funny because the summer before Nick left on his mission, he didn't want to play golf. I asked him to go and he said he hated golf.  Now he will go anytime or anywhere.  And has 4 golf shirts to wear.

I had to laugh because when Jack applied for the job, he had to upload a resume.  Seriously for an 18 year old to work at the golf course.  Here's Jack's Resume.  Isn't it great?  I paid 1.99 for someone to do it online.  The best.  It got him the job and was much easier than having to figure it out.

UPDATE

I happen to drive by the Eaglewod today, and saw him driving the workman.  So I pulled over and he actually came over and said hi. He wasn't about his picture but this is the best I could get again.

Thats him driving over in his workman

Father's Day

Father's Day is one of my favorite holidays.  Mostly because it requires NO work for me anymore.  My dad is dead and I am not married so there is NO obligation to anyone.  However, Brooke and ty came over and bought me some flowers for Father's day and some Reeces (spelling) from Trader Joes and left me the nicest note for Father's day.

I absolutely LOVE that they think of me on Father's Day.  Being the Mom and the Dad was very hard but it was my favorite thing.  Well, being the mom was.  They have all turned out so great in spite of their less than desireable upbringing.  :)

I do feel bad for my children that they don't really have a dad.  I mean, he texts them and stuff and sends them money I think, but they certainly have missed out of having a good dad be part of their lives like most kids.  Like I did.   I think that creates a void.  Nick and Jack make jokes about it, (like Come Follow Me is for families with dads)  but I think deep down they feel bad.  I feel bad.  I can't change it.  I just wish it had been different.

Tuacahan 2024

Went to St. George to Tuacahan.  It was Michelle, Maureen and Marlena.  We headed out in the am and Stopped at the Fillmore Golf Course.

Marlena could either go in the cart, or sit in the car or the clubhouse.  I could have sat at the clubhouse.  They had tables on the deck in the shade, but she decided to go in the cart.  She was a bit unsure at first but she decided to do it. It only cost 5.00 for her to ride, which I paid so she needed to cart with Michelle.  :)

Such a nice view of me teeing the ball up...

Marlena was the picture taker.  We had a great time, only got lost once, and didn't hit into any other golfers.  Probably because there weren't many other golfers.  It was hot however but we did great.  Somehow we missed getting the Green Coat at the end like Tiger Woods or Scottie Scheffler get.

That night we saw Anastasia.  I have never seen that one before so that was good.  It was hot but not  as bad as other years.

Here we are.  One thing that isn't shown is that we got a Tuacahan Mug because we are season ticket holders.  My drink mug was in the holder in the chair in front of us.  Like they do at the Jazz Games.  Out of the blue, my drink FELL out of the cup holder and spilled on the lady next to me.  She says 'ohhh' and that was all.  I was so nervous all the rest of the show to see what she said at the end.  Like on you spilled coke all over my new white pants and my sandals with nylons on.

However, during the finale, and we were standing and clapping, she gets up and leaves!  She is one of those that leaves early.  Yay. Never had to say anything to her!

The next morning we got up and took a drive to Veyo, and Pine Valley.  Pine Valley is  up more in the mountains and much cooler.  It is a small community with this church. It is like the Oldest Church in Utah.  We took a tour and it was fun to see inside and how they have like 800 visitors every week during the summer.  We drove around and almost got some ice cream.  It was the only retail anything in Pine Valley. It was too busy so we didn't wait.  We drove to the reservoir and saw the fishing.  Next time we are going to take the hike that is 3 miles.

We stopped at the Maverick a million times for drinks and water.  We had to get these cookies I discovered.  They are 2/2.22 right now.  I think the reason I love them is because they are good, but because we use to take them to Lagoon when we went every Monday with our season passes and brought these cookies but they were from Smiths and the Smith's brand.  :)

We are going back in September to see the other two plays.  Michelle said we couldn't get good seats if we saw them in June so we are making TWO trips out of it.  Ok.  I'm all about that.  That will be after school starts though...ugh that part I'm not wanting to do.

Davis golf and a Podiatry visit

Golfed 18 at Davis today.  It was super hot and I almost died.  Davis is a great course.  I don't get to play it very often.  I played it because tomorrow I am having a procedure at the Podiatrist and will have to wear a boot for two weeks.

I have been having a bad time with Plantar Facitis.  It is where the bottom of your foot hurts ALL the time.  Like WAY bad.  It sounds like a made up thing but it hurts.  I have been doing stretches and wearing good shoes and all the things.  Dr. Seagle did a procedure called Needling and he poked holes in the fascia (tendonlike stuff on the bottom of my foot) and then hopes to body heals it and it feels better.

I did get a pedicure before this procedure so I would look nice

Here's the boot I have to wear for two weeks.  I hate wearing a boot. It messes with your gait and it is difficult to get your leg out of the car.  Serious. That is aproblem cuz it doesn't fit very well.

But it hurts and I'm willing to try.

Not sure what the next step is if this doesn't work.  I am trying to make sure I can walk when we go to Boston in about 6 weeks.

Jack Turns 18

Jack turned 18 on June 6.  He was born in 2006 at 6:00.  I remember that the doc asked if I wanted to wait a day so that wasn't his birthday.  NOPE.  Sure don't.

Jack celebrated with some donuts from Lee's.  Here's my appetizer with my Zip Fizz.

Here's the donuts he got from Lee's.  That HUGE one is a Texas donut that Is the equivelent to I think 5 regular donuts.  Always think of Nick.  He went to Lee's with the Young Men's and they could get One donut.  That is the donut Nick choose.  Yep it was one donut.

Jack wanted Cafe Rio for dinner.  He didn't get the points because whoever app you use, gets the points.  Nick wants the birthday dinner AND the points.

Yep we invited the grandma.

We decorated with pictures of Jack wearing birthday hats.  He also has decorations up from graduation.  He was wearing graduation hats for those decorations.  He has been popular the last few weeks.

Gotta Have Duggar dessert.  NO cake.

Jack has had a great year.  It was his last year in High school.  He rocked it with the grades and did a internship with the Athletic Trainer.  He played LAX and got most improved player.  Then he graduated and has an offer to play Lax at SUU.

He is working at the golf course this summer to get money for school.

We Love you Jack.

10 Year anniversary

Brooke and I got this email from the Planet Fitness the other day.  We have been members for TEN years.  Holy Cow.  Brooke has rocked it.  She goes all the time and rocks the stair step.  She should be asked to be on a commercial for them.

I can't believe I have been going that long.  I haven't been asked to be on a commercial being that long of a member.  :)  I think that well, I'm not very skinny or do a good job at the Planet, but it is better than if I NEVER went to the gym.

Abi also had a membership with us.  She moved to St George and the Planet closed.

Marlena also had a membership.  I don't think she is at year ten though.  She's prob not going to get asked to be on a commercial either...:)

Here's to another 10 :)

SUU for the Jack

Super cool thing for the Jack.  He got an offer to Play LaCrosse at Southern Utah University in Cedar City!  Yay.  So he committed to them for the fall.  He is totally ready and excited for that adventure.

This is the letter but I can't figure out how to turn it around.  I could take another picture but I can't find it.  :)

Way to go Jack.  He was the only one on his team that had an offer to play anywhere this fall.

I'm excited for him and to see what adventures await him.  He has totally worked hard and deserves this!  Go Jack!  Although I'm going to miss him.  I'm not a fan of this empty nest idea.

Golf at the El Monte

Jack wanted to play some golf.  He decided to invite Jackson so we wouldn't get paired. Only place we could find early enough so Jack could get to bed early for his Golf Course Job was at the El Monte in Ogden.  I love the El Monte.

Jackson is in the blue shirt and Jack in the orange. Jackson is the one in Crocs

I love the El Monte because when Abi played golf for WXHS, it was one of the courses that she played.  It is only 9 holes but she played it twice.  It is just cool and up in Ogden Canyon and some cool paths to get to hole 5. We got lost but figured it out.

There they are again on the green

My .60 refill from Holiday all summer.

Jack needs to sign up at the Planet

Love some Abi
