Transfers and all that - Jack's email from Alaska

Hey everyone! This was another really good week. If you read my email last week, my comp and I were pretty much babysitting another elder. We had got rid of him on wednesday which was pretty good for us. We were not nearly as stressed as we were last week with him haha. Anyways this week was transfer week. We got news and I will be transferring to the fairbanks ysa and 2nd ward. Double covering, I was also assigned as a zone leader so that should be good. I am going to miss elder horne so much he is like a brother to me. We been through highs and lows and he has helped me in so many ways. But let's get into the highlights of this week.

Highlights:
- I gave a father's day talk and the mission president showed up to it

- Tyler is still working with us even tho we have some bumps in the road

- we had little time to go finding but still somehow found people this week.

Low lights:

- said bye to the members of the girdwood branch, I'll miss that branch a lot

- gonna miss my awesome companion

Anyways thats pretty much it from me. It was a good week and i have just loved the area I've been in

Spiritual thought: Matthew 14
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

I like this because Peter only sunk because he lost his faith and got scared. Sometimes we are nervous or afraid because we are lacking faith. Faith is what leads to miracles.

Abi and Brody go to Hawaii

Got this pic from Abi the other day.  She was at Fazoli's.  Love that.  I asked her where that was and she was at the Airport heading to Hawaii.  What?

Then I got this.  They are on their way.

Pearl Harbor - So fun and learned a lot.  The best combo

They are back home safe and sound.  Had a great time.  Always glad when everyone is home.

54 more days of Summer Left

Started today out in the Hotworx. I have been doing a cycling class before Pilates.  I love Chris on the left side.  I can't do all the cycling but I'm trying to get there.

Then headed to Pilates.  Love my new Blue Towel.

I have been working on the shower.  It is YUCK.  It has been a chore since I have such hard water and no water softner. It died a few years ago.

So I cleaned and sprayed with this dawn and vinegar solution that I read about online.  It did a great job on the shower doors that are glass.  Not so great on the rest of the shower.  I had to use Lemi shine hard water and a bunch of elbow grease.

These are the doors after I sprayed them with the Dawn/vinegar mixture.

Decided to once again, clean out the drain.  Those drain cleaner tools are so great.  That is mostly me I think.  I'm the only one that uses that shower.  Total YUCK.  So fufilling to pull that gross glob out though

Watched the US Open golf Tournament while I was doing all of this.

I watched at Marlena's house first then headed home to clean the shower.  Summer Break is super exciting.

55 More Days of Summer Vacation

I still have 55 days of summer vacation left.  Andrew and I rug doctored his chair he got at Grandma's house.  We also rug Doctored our cars.  The cars are soo yuck. Thanks to Melanie for renting the Rug Doctor and leaving it in her basement for over a year and then dying.

I did purchase the attachment so we could do the chairs, stairs, cars and smaller places.  It worked like a charm.

After that, we headed to the movie theater.
We watched the Michael Jackson movie.  It was fantastic. I think I loved it because I relive the 80s when I grew up.
Michael Jackson was just soo great.  Andrew gave it an 8/10.  Me too.  I might have given it a 9/10.
I hate that Joseph Jackson. And his mother too...

Then I worked on the yard.  Look at our horrible yard.  I watered it.

When I turn the sprinlers on, I like to sit in the Garage.  It is cool, and no one can see me if they walk by.  There is a cat that wanders around that I don't like in my yard unless you are getting mice.
This is my view.  Love it.

This is the garage I need to clean.  That's on the agenda.

I also had a lunch date.  It was fun we went to some place in Sugarhouse.  I got a Salmon sandwich.  Wierd but soo good.

I wore this.  Jim said it was ok.  I also wore some pink vans I have had since 2020 and never wore. They were great.  I'm putting them in the rotation.  I need to clean up the bathroom too.  :)

Then we went to Golf Galaxy to look at their shirts and whatever else they have.   I got some golf tees.  The clothes for women were only ok so I didn't get any.

Opposition is so real - Jack's email from Alaska

Hey everyone!! This week was kinda wild for sure. I can for sure say satan has been doing his thing. My companion and I had a pretty good week until Saturday and saturday it felt like everything just tore apart lol. We both ended the day and were like "that was probably the worst day I've had in awhile" but you gotta have bad days to have good days. But let's get into the week!!

Our friend Tyler who ive been talking about who's on date for baptism, we found out needs first presidency approval for baptism which SUCKSSSSS we also found out due to the repentance process he can't get baptized til hes gone to church a total of 12 times which is brutal. We are just scared hes not gonna stay motivated but I guess we will see.

We got out of a lesson with one of our friends and his son in law pulled up right as we went outside. He comes and talks to us and pulls us aside and says "thats my father in law hes Christian already, if you come back I'll take you to court for elder abuse" like brooo whatttt such an opp bro.

Lastly we are now in a trio due to someone going home. Which is hard cuz this missionary isn't the most obedient and doesn't really care anymore. He also has said probably the craziest things I've ever heard out of someone's mouth before. Definitely been hard to feel the spirit this week, but that is okay!!

Anyways that's all I got!! Spiritual thought

19 And we did magnify our office unto the Lord, taking upon us the responsibility, answering the sins of the people upon our own heads if we did not teach them the word of God with all diligence; wherefore, by laboring with our might their blood might not come upon our garments; otherwise their blood would come upon our garments, and we would not be found spotless at the last day.

Send me an email!!

St. Anna's golf tournament and Bingo

My friend Kim, works for the Greek Orthodox church.  The other Greek Parish was having a Golf Tournament.  Sandra, Maureen, Kim and Victoria played in the tournament.

Had to leave bright and early to get there for the 8:00 shotgun start.

Here I am checking out the outfit

Lined up and ready for us to load

Here we are.  We all have matching shirts from yadda golf.  Love them.

Look how cute we all are.

We were the only all female 4 some to play in the tournament

Carting with Sandra

Posted in the social media page for the church,

We played a great game.  We were 6 over Par.  We didn't win any prizes but had a great time and lunch after. And a new shirt.  After the tournament, we had to head straight to Bingo in Brigham City.

It is the second Saturday of the month.  We wore our matching shirts because we didn't have time to go home.  We also picked up our other golf friend, Jenny.  She didn't have a matching shirt.  )

I actually won a game of Bingo.  I have never won since we have been going.  I won 15.00.

We also entered the raffle.  The raffle I would just assume not enter but everyone else buys tickets so I hate to not be a follower.  I did win a prize this time.  This burner.  It could have been so much worse.

Bingo is such great people watching.  They serve us dinner, this time we had Chow mein which is such a strange thing to have, but it was really good.  We sit and dob out numbers, and then laugh and drive home hoping we don't win anything with the raffle.  Oh and it is for a good cause every time.  That's why we go to support the charity...)

This is a better pic of us.  We strugled to get any selfie pic.  We are all too old to be good at taking selfies...)
