Killing it on the 2024 chart

Cleaned out some HUD this weekend.  Look what I got rid of.  15 pair of Pantyhose.  Yep.  Mostof them brand new in the pkg.  The pair from nordstrom was like 6.00.

I got most of these at Dillards when I worked there.  That was a long time ago.  Maybe 30 years?  I can't have panty hose as old as I have been a teacher?

Those in the purple pack are from Melanie.  She has been dead about 15 years.   If I haven't needed them yet, out they go.  I'm sure they don't fit anymore anyway.

Well, I should have use for this manuel.  I guess I'll keep it in case we need it.  Nick said Come Follow me was for families with dads so that is not us.  :)

Found this, Melanie gave this to me a long time ago.  I'm sure it was a mistake that she gave it to me...Haha not.  It has to be too small now too.  Never been out of the pkg.

gotta get my sweat on at the Planet if I'm going to get rid of HUD

Four bags off to the DI and that stack of books.  Yep even the Dallin H Oaks biography.  You can buy it at the DI if you want it.

Progress!  I have 300 (almost) less items already this year and it is only beginning of February.  Feel so good.

After going to the DI and looking at the MASSIVE amounts of HUD they take from people...I just feel bad taking stuff there.  They must get sooo much stuff.  What else do you do with the quality items (right) that I donate?  Seriously I just think of all that junk in the landfill.  Most of what I see donated isn't worth reselling...It is just HUD.

I can't change the amount of stuff in the world.  I don't have to store it at my house.  When I die, my kids will just get a dumpster and put all my HUD there.  Why not enjoy it NOT being here in the first place.

Throw back

Nick lost his driver licence.  Here's the paperwork to help him get it figured out.  It is a wonder that anyone can even navigate the driver license place to get a driver license.   Not to even mention a missionary who is 20 years old.

Throw back. I found this bad boy that came up as a memory or whatever. We were painting Brooke's duplex and those sweat pants and Planet Fitness T shirt are all mine.  I did wonder where that fabulous Planet Fitness T Shirt went.

And I'm missing those sweat pants too.  One can't have enough sweats

Stella and Fon Hawley

My cousin, Julie, is doing geneology and is collecting and posting pictures of my Grandma and Grandpa.  They are her great Grandma and Grandpa.  Anyway, here is a great picture of my Grandpa Fon on this tractor.  So many memories of riding and driving the tractor.  He was so patient and kind.  He married my grandma at age 50. And now I think about that, and he could have been so ornery.  He never had any kids of his own.

He thought we were the greatest.  Seriously I knew he did.  He was kind and never got excited about stuff.  He loved it when we helped him feed the cows or water them.  He always wanted to go on a tractor ride or drive the truck to the dump.

I love this picture of both of them.  They were at the Alumni Banquet or something in Deseret.  Miss them every day.

Scrimage in Logan

Brooke came out to help grandma.  She ended up meeting my cousins, Paul, Melba, Julie, Sheri and Allison.  They are on a quest for Geneology that my mother has!  THEN she took Marlena to my cousin Kris's house because she had a knee replacement.  She did cheer so thats why her knee is bad.....(Thanks for clarifying that..)

Then we went to see my School's production of Footloose.  It was terrible, but the kids were cute.  AND I had to laugh because we saw it years ago at the Scera in Provo (we had some free tickets) and it was also terrible.  But McCall saw it the next day and the main dude fell off the stage during the performance and had to go to the hospital.  So grateful we didn't have that mishap.  :)

THEN we headed to Logan.  Mind you it was 7:00 pm for an 8:30 Scrimmage.  Yep we did it.  Stopped at the Maverick before hand and arrived in plenty of time.

These are some say random videos of Jack.  He likes to see them after the game.  They probably repeat.  It is a pain to upload videos.  I could screen them before hand.  But I assume no one is actually watching them.

Here we are in this indoor training facility.

Here's my Brooke with me.  So glad she likes to cat around with me.  We even brought our own lawn chairs.  We are NOT rookies.  The people next to me showed up without chairs...The husband went to buy some, and missed the first half of the game.  :)

They lost I think. Skyview is a pretty good game.  Jack hurt his wrist but seems to be ok.  He hit a kid and the ref's had to have a meeting whether or not to throw him out.  They didn't.  The parents around me thought they should.  That's why I don't like to sit by people.

Such fun and we got home around 12:00.  Brooke got home around 1:00 am.

We stopped at culvers for some onion rings and cheese curd.  Skip that part next time.

No Spend Weekend - Not

I checked my bank account.  UGH.  It needed to be a no spend weekend and week. I have 10 days til payday.  I have had no spend weekends before and they are kindof fun and not fun.  Well, my friend Lynne wanted to bond on Friday night.  I can't pass up bonding even on no spend weekend.  However I did have a Red Lobster Gift card so that took the pain out of the bonding.  I only spent 8.00  well and the 20.00 tip cuz we sat there forever

Chili Willi gave me this for my birthday...:)

And I'm a member of the lobster rewards program so I got a FREE dessert.  Wow.  Not like I needed a free dessert but didn't pass it up.

I made this chex mix again because I had wheat chex to use up.  I wanted them gone so I added them.  Gotta get rid of stuff.  Maybe I should cross off boxes on my chart for food that I used up.

Sporting my new Carhaart jacketI got for Christmas.  Love it so much I wore it to LAX.

Awe here's my collage someone made on some social medial. Wow I sure look so much older and fatter.

Then jack needed money for a drink, then I need gas, then I need to mail Nick some money for his mission.  I did have a punch card for my drinks at Holiday.  I also have a hair appt today so that certainly isn't a no spend event.  So hard to have a so spend weekend....

IMLAX

Jack had another LAX game for IMLAX winter league.  This is the only pic I got of him in action.

He did score a goal which is pretty cool for D poles. He might have been playing with a different stick but not sure. I was talking to Tate's mom and Brooke and Ty and Jonah their coach from Syracuse.

Glad we got the Ty to watch this week.  Look at his cool sweatshirt.  I gave that to him for Christmas.  You would think Brooke would have worn her 130.00 vans...Carla gave her.

Jack did great.  He sure stunk on the way home.  I Hope he doesn't ruin his church shoes since he wears them to LAX

South Dakota is cold! - Nick's email from Omaha

Woahhhh it's been a minute since I sent a email. This will just be some highlights from what's happened the last month up here in South Dakota.

Last two weeks we've been in a constant blizzard warning and the wind doesn't help 🫠

We're still working with our friend Angie. She's really struggling with smoking so If yall could pray for her that would be great!

Elder Hansen got transferred 😭 I'm with elder Tracy now

Lost my wallet in a snow bank 😎 can't wait for spring haha

Had district p day last week. It was chill and I got to play basketball for the first time in a transfer

Taught our homie Michael. He came to the door with a bat and that kinda threw me off but he's actually super chill and listened to us. We asked him to be baptised and he said he would consider it

Because of the weather last week church got canceled so it was nice to have it again this week. Kinda made me realize how we take the sacrament for granted sometimes

Works been kinda slow recently but I think the weather has something to do with it. I hit 17 months 2 weeks ago. Kinda crazy how fast it's going but I gotta make the most out of these last 17 months. Hope yall have a good week! Feel free to reach out!

30+

I have been very worried about money, retirement, all that junk. Am I putting enough aside for retirement so I can survive.  I will still have a house payment and I always want a good car.  And I want to go to Planet and Hike and golf and eat lunch out, get new carpet, travel, rest and read.

So I loged into the URS (Utah Retirement System) and look.  I have 30 years of service.  WHO would have thought.  I think it occured in the middle of the year because when you take leave without pay (like when I had a baby and I had 5) that time off doesn't count towards retirement.

But Yahoo.  I made it 30.  That is kindof the golden number.  I'm not retiring anytime soon because I am not that old.  I am only 57 and still have a missionary and a 17 year old at home. Plus I still have a few on my health insurance.  But who would have thought I would survive 30 years.

The reason 30 is golden is because you are eligible for full retirement which is 60 percent of my salary.

Jr Jazz against the Jorts

Jack had another Jr Jazz game.  He seems to know all the kids on both teams.

Here he is before the game.

He fouled the kid so here's the foul shots.  He had two fouls in the first 5 minutes of the game.

The other team had all his LAX friends on it so they have to hug before the game and after.

The other team had on their Jorts.  Shorts that are Jeans.  Jorts...

I think Jack lost.  I couldn't see the score.  I just like it that they are playing and running.

Kerry was the ref again.  I didn't get a picture this time.

Nick Omaha

Nick called last night.  He is in Omaha freezing.  He said they didn't have that great of a week so he didn't send an email.  But he said he could send some pics.  Ok that sounds good.

Nick sounds great.  He is loving his mission and his new companion from Roy.  They both love drinks from Maverick.  You get that or you don't. :)

He has been out 18 months.  I have missed him terribly and I might have his room cleaned by the time he gets home.  :)
