Two Missing Teeth

I had a horrible toothache.  It hurt for about a week, then I finally called my dentist.  He gave me a round of antibiotics.  NO relief at all. In fact I was waking up every 3 hours and the pain medication wasn't helping.  I went to the dentist and then to the root canal guy.  The problem is that the tooth I thought it was, already had a root canal.  The Dr. tried to do another root canal and see what was going on, and the crown (see below) popped off and the tooth was just crumbly he said.  My copay for the tooth was suppose to be $165.

This is the crown he tried to drill through...then the tooth was not to be saved and had pockets of puss and infection..(so gross)

Back to the dentist.  Mark said it needed to be pulled and I saw the Oral Surgeon in the same office as Mark.

The tooth was pulled as well as the remants of another tooth that fell out in the back of my mouth.  He was very slick.

Here I am a bit happier BEFORE the extraction.  Oh the copay for extractions were 42.00.  No wonder people are missing teeth.  Its too expensive to save them...:)

Here's my assortment of pills.  I have been waking up for about 3 weeks in pain and it took so long for the pain to go away.  Like I couldn't get it to stop.  Finally, after the second round of antibiotics was finished it started to feel better!   However, I am pain free now.

I was so sick I decided to take my emergency to see if it would help and it did!  Love it.

Now I need to decide what happens next with the gap in my mouth  Implant or a bridge or another solution.

Ty is under the weather

So, Ty has been in the hospital.  He has something with his potassium levels.  Nick and I went to visit him.

Then on Sunday, we decided to go to the zoo to check up on him and make sure he is behaving himself.  He said he was feeling better.  So we walked around the Zoo with him and ended up at the Small Animal Building.

Here was a Porcupine out walking around with the zoo keeper.  I thought about Brooke doing that when she is a keeper...:)

We came to the Small Animal building to visit Pedro the Sloth.  We visited him a bunch in December so we wanted to see him again.  He looks the same and did the same thing when we were there.

Nick and Ty were enjoying Pedro

And yes, we got to see the Crocodiles.  I have never seen the Crocodiles move before...Ever

3 pointer for Nick

Nick is playing Jr Jazz.  His team played tonight against his friend Derek Anderson from Football.  He got fouled and took some free throws and didn't make them.

this is our favorite Ref, Kerry, Marti's brother

BUT with about 4 seconds on the clock, Nick gets the ball thrown to him and he takes a shot and MAKES the THREE point shot!  The gym went crazy.!!!  They all jumped on him and cheered him. I Feel bad that I missed it on video but it was FABULOUS!

Broken stuff

This is my Ikea coffee table.  I was putting together a puzzle on a board on the table.  I picked up the board and noticed this hole in the table.  I asked Nick and Jack and they said that the puzzle on the board caused the hole...hmmm.  No one seems to know how it got the hole.

I don't really care, but I would like to know how it happened.  Not sure what made a perfect hole.  We can add this to the list of broken things.  Walls, Shower Curtain Rods, TV, computer, and I will add more as I think about it.

Nick gets Driver's Licence - Finally

Nick has had his permit for a while.  He needed to finish Driver's Ed.  He passed the test in class so all was left was to go to the DMV.  FINALLY we did that over Christmas Break and Nick is a licenced Driver now.  He doesn't get to drive until Jan 29 due to his seizure on Oct 29. But I am looking forward to another driver at home.   I haven't had another driver at home since September of 2018.

Student Appreciation

Christmas Time in the Jr High is interesting.  The Elementary teachers can't get all their teacher gifts out the door they  have so many.  Some years I get none, some like 6.  But this year I got two.

I got this from Sam who is the student body president.  They are delicious

And I got this from Another student that I thought was very nice.  I'm always touched when students give me a gift since they have 8 teachers and I think 15.00 is kindof a lot to spend.

So appreciative of all gifts.  I appreciate their thoughtfulness.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day started out great.  We slept in so late.  That's the beauty of Older children.  No one is in a hurry.  Jack is sort of, but we had no where to go so we might as well sleep late.

Picture before we started

I got up and went to Maverik.  Then the rest of them got up and decided they wanted to go to.  So they went and stocked up on beverages before the festivities began.

College kids bot some money for Christmas.  Abi got hers in this Hello Kitty Wallet. She reminded me that last year I made a paper wallet. I have certainly stepped up the effort ...

I put Andrew's money in this empty Coke Can and glued it shut so it didn't look like it had been opened.  I didn't have much time after I got the idea or I could have made it look better.

Brooke got hers in this Pill Case because she takes daily medication..the case was also filled with m and m's.  Thats why I had to make an early run to Maverick.  I got these ideas for the money wrapping during the night so I was on a time crunch.

These are pictures of the morning.  The polka dot pants we got on Christmas Eve

This is the Rubber Duck Nativity.  Brooke loves ducks so we got a nativity all in ducks. I added the fake snakes and frogs for the zoo keeper effect.

Abi got a Stethescope for Nursing school that she starts in January. She was practicing listening to Andrew's Lungs and heart...

Great Christmas, Brooke, Andrew and Abi all got money, Nike Zoom Sneakers and a sweatshirt for Andrew, Stethescope for Abi and Brooke got an exercise Bra.   Nick and Jack got Air pods, basketball and sweatshirt and Stance Socks.  We also had Christmas socks with Candy, tooth brushes, socks, exercise bras, and everyone's favorite chips.  Brooke liked Mickey Mouse veggie Straws, Andrew liked Veggie Straws, Abi Boom Chick a Pop, Nick likes Pringles, and Jack Flaming Hot Cheetoes.  I was impressed I found all of them.

After we opened the presents Andrew ordered us some Chinese food.  It is our tradition of about 5 years.  We get it from Sam Pan in SLC.  We spent 101.00 on our food as everyone got a dinner A.  So we had plenty of Rice, egg rolls, soup, and entrees.  Andrew picked it up also.  I'm happy to pay if I don't have to go get it.  I'm so surprised everyone doesn't do Chinese Take out.

I also hit the Jack pot for Christmas.

I got this Yoga Mat

Socks

Flowers (which I love)

Gift Card to PG Nails for a Mani and a pedi. . .

I also got some Body Scrub from Trader Joes.  I didn't get a pic of that.  But I have used it and love it.

Christmas was the best.  I was stressed but not like normal.  I just worry that everyone won't like their gifts or it is a little sparse because I'm on a tight budget.  Especially since I'm divorced now.  I thought the best present for me was just having all of my family home.
