Spanish Oaks and Dryer Vent

Had a rain check for Spanish Oaks golf course.  Weather looked great on Saturday so we took advantage of it.

I sent this photo to Mark to guess where we are.  He said Round Valley.  Nope, South.  Hobble Creek and before I could say No, he guessed Spanish Oaks.  Not sure he has even golfed there before.

Love the Windmills in the Spanish Fork Canyon.  They were going crazy when we got there with Wind. By the time we got to the 10th hole, the Windmills were stopped.

I have been sending Diet Coke to Jack.  For some reason, I can't order Diet Coke and send it to Alaska anymore.  I can't order any candy or chips either.  Not sure why.  I decided to just send it to me instead.  So handy to have it delivered.  I thought of Melanie.  She would have loved Amazon.

I forgot I had these shoes.  I decided to wear them on Sunday.  I was surprised no one asked me if I was trying out for Joseph.  It was the Primary program today so I wanted to look my best.  That is my Sunbeam's foot.  Love them

On Another note, Marlena is having surgery this week on her back.  They suggested Tongs for her. I wondered if she wanted to borrow some of our tongs from school...:)

We have been having trouble with the  Dryer.  It was musty downstairs when we used it.  Well, I figured out it was the dryer vent had come off from the wall. I moved out the dryer and look what I found.   So gross.  There are probably about 10 socks there that I have been looking for the other one.  Found them.  Andrew hooked up the vent and we are good to go now after a through cleaning and throwing all that yuck away

Another Bash and muktuk - Jack's Email from Alaska

What's up everybody!! This week was a long one that's for sure. But we made it through the week so that was good. Lots of ups and lots of downs but let's get into da weekkkkkk

Tuesday 10/21: today we did a zone council instead of district council so that was pretty fun but there is a lot of people in our zone so we hecka went over time but it's okay it was fun and worth it. We then had a couple lessons after dinner which was coo too.

Wednesday 10/22: we had an earlier lesson today and did some service for the lady so that was cool. We texted and called a ton of people today so that was good but no success so yee.

Thursday 10/23: we had a lesson with Scott who's been inactive for like 20 years and he's trying to come back to church sadly he didn't this week but he wants to. Then we did weekly planning which was very well and then had some lessons today.

Friday 10/24: our recent convert Paul had us for lunch today so that wa super cool and he's a chilla. We were supposed to have dinner with a whole family that we might start teaching and so I was locking in for the lesson and then...... well they cancelled rip.

Saturday 10/25: today I went on an exchange with a brand new missionary. Things were going well and he's a pretty smart kid. We had a member meal and this ladies house and then her brother came in the room and was trying to bash us but yk I don't lose those so, I did what I do best and absolutely Cooked him. But it was funny afterwards but very awkward interaction. The greenie was pretty scared afterwards

Sunday 10/25: church today and just same old same old with meetings. We ended having dinner with this super cool family and the husband lived in barrow or basically the top of Alaska for those of you who don't know. He gave us muktuk which basically only the native people here like it and I was told to try it anyways. And it honestly wasn't terrible the seal oil makes it taste funkyyyy tho ain't gonna lie.

But pretty chill week I would say

Spiritual thought

 Doctrine and Covenants 121:7-8;

 7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;

8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.

I would love to hear from you all! Join the photos.

GO COUGS - Jack's email from alaska

Hello everyone! It was another week in missionary life. Sort of. But that's chill, we got some good work done this week and so it was good. This was the first week of the transfer and it wad a good one. Also shoutout to the Cougs who caught the dub against Utah.

Wednesday 10/15: picked up my new comp from the mission office and saw all of the other missionaries I came out with so that was really cool. We got cane's and then headed back up to palmer. Did some shopping and then had some p day with the new zone so it was pretty fun.

Thursday 10/16: pretty much just weekly planned and did some other stop bys. We set up a couple lessons for the week so it was actually a fire weekly planning session.

Friday 10/17: we had a couple lessons today a member took us out for lunch at a Mexican place and oh my it was the best thing in the world. We also had a lesson with our recent convert and he's like the smartest dude out there. Then we had a lesson with a member and he's a chilla so it was a good day.

Saturday 10/18: we met with one of our friends in the morning and we got him to read from the book of mormon finally! So we did that and he loved the lesson we prepared for him. Pretty much the rest of the day was pretty tiring and exhausting. But we just did some member stop bys. Was lowkey stressing abt the byu game and then my brother texted me right after I got out of the lesson and they won so it was worth the long day to hear that news.

Sunday 10/19: just a normal Sunday today we woke up with frost on our windshield and so it was cold. We had church and a couple of other meetings. Then had a member meal and gave a blessing. Then a ward fireside which was pretty fire.

Spiritual thought: I was reading Acts 16 and that chapter really stands out to me so yall should go read and it lemme know what u think of it.

Gladstan again

Played Gladstan in Payson today.  We got rained out last time we played.  We only made it 9 holes, but we got a rain check for 18.  Win.  It was absolutely the BEST golf weather today.  It was beautiful on the course.

These are all my friend Kim's photos.  She takes fantastic photos so I get them off Facebook.

I had to cross that water, and got my feet all wet.

Had to make it over that ravene

Had to hit over this one, and UP the hill.  I hit into the bushes but I made it across.

Great day.  Great golf.  This course is in my top 5 to play. The first time we played it, it was SOOO hot and we played in the afternoon and I was sick...I was having a dose of AFIB so I didn't feel good at all.

Second time we got rained out and this third time was the charm.  Excellent day.

Sister Act

Fall Break started with a trip to the Hale Theater.  Grandma can't go and sit that long, so Brooke got to use Grandma's ticket

I got to sit by Michelle.  Usually, Michelle sits by the Grandma because we talk and she feels left out.
Jim was a good theater patron and wore her good Theater Sweats.  I wore my good Theater Jeans.  Sweats would have been better...

We ate at Teryaki Grill before.  It was ok.  It was similar to Rumbis where we usually go.  Just further away.

Jim and Ty went to Zion to Ty's brothers wedding.  I hope she wore the Theater Sweats to the wedding too :)

Next day was the start of Fall Break.  I headed to the Hotworx.  LOVE this girls silver slickers.

My cousin Sharon is selling this 100 year old Persian Rug.  I think she offered it to me.  It is expensive for an OLD rug.  YUCK.  But if anyone wants it, I could put you in touch with her...

Huge Typhoon in Alaska.  Jack said he didn't know anything about it.  He was safe.
