Memorial Day 2X

Memorial day came and we went to the Spanish Fork Cemetary.  My dad, mom, Michelle and myself ventured down south. My dad came with us, although he couldn't get out of the car.  He was just along for the ride.  Which was good.  I suspect it will be his last visit to the cemetary....Until he becomes a permanent resident.

This is Michelle's legs and she is cleaning off Melanie's grave and putting those pin wheels on it.  She is good like that.  I just stand and let her do it.

We had a great time and stopped at Cafe Rio on the way home.  Of course we have to eat lunch.  We got it to go since my dad couldn't go in.  Mark didn't come because he was having company at his house.  I think he missed a good time.

So Monday came around, and we decided to also go to the cemetary.  My kids do not know how to do Memorial day.  And when I am there, they need to know how to decorate my grave...

So here is Nick and Brooke at Melanie's grave. We brought the white plant.  It was  mum from Lee's

We also have some plots in Spanish Fork Cemetary so Brooke was testing out the plot and how she will fit.  I think that is my dad's spot.  He didn't test it out when he visited ...he will be there soon enough I think.

This is my other sister.  She is in another part of the cemetary...not too far.  But she died like 59 years ago, and my aunt and grand parents are around her.  We brought the smaller purple flower.  They only had the small ones left when you buy them on the Morning of Memorial day.

Maybe we brought the white and small purple...They look alike.  Melanie is a few feet away.  There are 14 funeral plots available so she won't be alone long.

My grand father was a veteran, Mark L. Lewis and this is his marker in the cemetary

It was a great day  Beautiful weather.  There were family around the graves so it was fun to talk to them since we were both at the same family plot.  His name was Jake or Jed and was a son of one of my dad's cousins.  It is a great holiday. Do as much or as little as you want.  My kind of holiday.
