Grandma has been in a lot of pain. She has sciatica down her right leg. It has been quite the ordeal. She has tried ice, heat, meds, physical therapy, injections and millions of Dr. Visits.
Finally I took her to the surgeon and he suggested surgery for a disc problem in her lower back that is pressing on her nerve in her leg. Yes they do that surgery at 88 years old.
She really didn't have much choice. She was in constant pain. We took a pre surgery class so she was ready. Michelle took her of course. She ended up at a Rehab place in SLC. Nick and I visited her on Sunday, and as we were on our walk down the hall, Mark and Paula showed up. We got a snack and sat in the snack center.
It was such a nice day that we decided to go on a walk outside. As we were on our walk, Michelle showed up and joined us for our walk. We made 4 or 5 laps around the building. I closed a ring on my watch. Not sure how much that was but why did we want to go inside and sit.
Marlena is ready to come home from the rehab hospital. However, she can't get off the toilet.
Mark took care of that and installed one of these.
Then he tested it out
Fits just great. Only thing it doesn't match the pink sink or bathtub.
Then he tested it out using the grabber. If you can't wipe your butt they suggested Tongs. I guess the grabber will work just fine. :)
Or we could resort to these tongs from school
Fun fact: Mark has his Vuori clothes on. They are super great.
