Blue Boat Home

I follow this other blogger...Brooke says I only follow people who are sick or fat...anyway, she posted this song and it s beautiful so I decided to post it.  She wants it played at her memorial when she dies.  I'm not sure I want it played at my funeral, but it is a pretty song and I have never heard it before..

 This song is in the Universal Unitarian Hymnal. It is also to the tune of  In Humility, Our Savior which is in our LDS Hymnal.  Which is probably why I liked the song because it was somewhat familiar to me.  Although it is the tune of In Humility, Our Savior that is a little less known and a bit faster in tempo that we usually sing ....unless I'm the waver of course and then we have that Sacrament hymn over in a few minutes....

 

I thought it was a  beautiful song about this lovely Earth we have.  According to another Blogger, the " lyrics were written to emphasize the fragile and timeless beauty of our lovely planet".  Which being  a Science Teacher, I'm all about that!  really think it is beautiful.  Maybe next time we sing "In Humility, Our Savior", I'll sing this version instead.
