Bountiful Handcart 24th of July

Bountiful has a 24th of July Celebration.  It Starts off with a Parade.  I haven't been to the parade for years.  Getting a seat is a pain and its hot.  Did I say hot??  Well, this year, Andrew was in the parade with the Jazz Band for the High School.  I had to drive him to the parade so we decided to go to the parade.  Brooke and I got up today and saved seats near the Maverik at the beginning of the parade route.  It was a great seat and we parked in the parking garage nearby and got a nice drink at the Maverik on our way over to our seats.    It ended up being super fun.  Really we had a great time.  There were only 4 of us.  Abi, Brooke, Nick and me.  Jack went with McKenna and Koa.  (her boyfriend...jack can't get enough of Koa.)

There were a few floats, marching bands, horses, and old cars.  There were also lots of advertising for businesses that I thought was fun too.  Why not??  Who doesn't like getting a roll from the Lion House or Otter pops thrown at you?  We did have a vacant chair next to us.  It was our lawn chair and Abi was sitting on the ground.  The Lion House threw a roll at us, and it landed on the empty chair.  The lady behind us, reached around and took it off OUR chair and ate it.  Hahah I think that chair was super dirty!!

Nick was the expert at getting candy.  He also got Frisbees, small basketball, and ran in front of the people next to us to get a bag full of peanuts. . . it really was a good catch.

After the parade, we head to gma's and have a bbq and watch the fireworks on the driveway.  We could walk up to the jr high but we can see them from her house so why should we exert the effort and walk up there.  Its always a good time. Good food and good company.
