Head Trauma in Boise

We went to Boise, Idaho for a soccer tournament.  We left friday morning.  We played soccer two times on saturday.  We lost both terribly.  One team was the number 1 team in montana.  We really didn't stand a chance.  Sunday, we played in a consolation game.  Abi is the keeper.  She went down to stop a ball, and smashed her head into the goal post.  She has had a headache ever since.  Monday at school, she said she needed to leave.  So Grandma came and picked her up.  She just didn't feel good.  Tuesday she slept in and then came late.  Wed I decided she needed to go to the dr.  She wasn't getting any better.  Not that the doc would do anything, but she needed to know if she had a concussion and what the protocol is.  YES. She did indeed have a concussion.  He said she needed to stay home on thursday from school.  And maybe a half a day on friday if she felt up to it.  AND no soccer for one week.  She was soo sad.  She has never missed a soccer game.  You can't risk another head trauma.  The good thing is the next game was cancelled due to rain.  That never happens.  I'm just glad she didn't get hurt worse and that she says she is getting a bit better,  The headaches have lessened.
